  1. Hi, just wondering if anyone can or has scans of the Q Mag article that just came out? Would love to read it.
  2. Oh there’s a part 2!?
  3. So what was the full setlist?
  4. Well the sound quality was terrible, they re arranged the order of songs and left out most of the concert! Not a letdown from the band, but the radio. Actually enjoyed the interview.
  5. Thats all they are playing?! omg, what a letdown lol
  6. The sound quality is so bad anyways... :(
  7. Why would they mess with the Setlist like this :S
  8. Wonder why his vocals weren't live for Church.. Strange...

Music of the Spheres... Spacey retro vibes... Now we're talking, that's the Coldplay I've been waiting for since Viva. But who knows what this really means. I don't even want to picture 2024 right now, way way wayyyyyy too far away.
  10. Haha, I'm not one of those people, but there is some nostalgia attached to it I suppose.
  11. Hmmm... Gonna have to hope to hear it in better quality, love that it's a full band song, and that there seems to be a lot of J, just not feeling what seems to me like uninspiring 90's drum beat on it.
  12. Anyone have a link to the song?

I'm ready for LP9. I liked EL but honestly it didn't sound anything like what Orphans and Arabesque was hinting at, which is the only reason it bummed me out a little. Had they chosen to share, Eko and Everyday Life first maybe I woulda been prepared for such a quiet album. Anyways, looking forward to the band to make more songs that highlight all the members again!
  14. Should there be an LP9 thread already going then? There's also a lot of pictures of fans with the band outside of studios.. does that mean recording the follow up already?
  15. Ok, took my time with the album... My overall feeling about it is... "Wait, where was the band for half of the album?". I was so damn excited after hearing Orphans and Arabesque and wanted more of that, more cool grooves, more Jonny and Guy moments and experimentation with African/Arab vibes throughout. But Orphans and Arabesque truly are the only of their kind in the album. Keep in mind now that Viva, Mylo and AFOD actually are my top CP albums, and GS is the one I like the least. I'm also not someone big on lyrics, I love melodies, beats and grooves (hence why I miss the band so much when they are not present on so many of these songs). Top tracks: Sunrise, Church, Arabesque, Guns, Cry Cry Cry, Bani Adam , Orphans, Everyday Life Sunrise - Fricking awesome song!!! This song is beautiful, but it's all Davide, so guess the band would just let this play before taking the stage if it was to be part of a live show. 8/10 Church - People seem to dislike it. It's one of my favorites on the album. The song has such a soothing feel to it, it's like a cleansing type of song. Jonny's guitar comes in and adds such a cool layer half way in. Also Chris' melody has such a surprising change half way into the chorus. 9/10 Trouble in Town - Cool beat, dark mood and mysterious. Chorus wasn't as fulfilling or memorable, but Guy's bass is cool. Not sure I appreciate the break with the whole angry conversation added on top of it, I'd probably like the song more without this part. Because what happens after is one of the coolest moments in the album with Jonny's lead taking center stage! And I love the outro/fadeout of this song too. 8.5/10 BroKen - First song where most of the band goes on a smoke break and leave Chris with a church choir for an out of nowhere Gospel hymn. I don't dislike it, but it's the first song where I wish the rest of the band had contributed more and added a cool mix of Gospel with Coldplay. But it's kinda just a Gospel song without them. 6.5/10 Daddy - Such a sad and haunting song, almost bringing tears to my eyes. Someone mentioned it reminded them of "O" and it kinda does. Lovely piano, production and melody on it. Was expecting a big "Fix You" kind of ending but it's still a beautiful song. 8.5/10 WOTW/POP - Really question this being the best demo they had laying around, with the amount of songs Chris comes up with, sounds like a demo so I accept the band not being present here... 6/10 Arabesque - A monster of a song! So fresh and different to anything they have ever done, and what gave me false hope for the album. One of their best ever. This song has so much Radiohead vibes, I was hoping this album was Coldplay's Kid A, guess maybe not till LP 9, or 10? Bring back ENO!!!! 10/10 When I Need a Friend -This is like a Church hymn, and I truly feel like a Priest is about to come up and start preaching to me. It's still soothing, but prob the strangest thing on the album to me. Chris invited the band back to sing some backing vocals here. And it ends with a Spanish message, which I don't fully understand what it is about even though Spanish if my first language. 6.5/10 Guns - The preview really threw me off, though it be a full on folk song, to my surprise it has one of the best and most surprising Choruses on the entire album! Lot's of angst on such a short song 9.5/10 Orphans - Guys' bass!!! Yes please, I wanted more of THAT! This is the one song I cannot stop humming, and singing after hearing the album. 10/10 Eko - Again the band takes a step back, though they haven't left the room. Lovely melody, sweet song. Love the melody the guitar plays, it's a playful song and the Chorus kinda gives me chills. 8.5/10 Cry Cry Cry - Ight, the band is again just chilling here letting Chris do his thing. Surprisingly found myself enjoying this song more than expected. It makes me think of all sorts of romantic movie scenes. It's a bittersweet song to me. Makes me feel like it fits this time of year quite well, though that's probably silly to say. It's like Coldplay really traveled back in time to create this old sounding song, and then added a modern effect to the vocals. Very jazzy. 9/10 Old Friend - A nice acoustic song, it's like a song Chris wrote for John Mayer and decided to keep instead. The band has again gone away. 7.5/10 Bani Adam - While the band finish their cigarette break Chris jams out an almost classical piano sounding song by himself.. And half way, they remember they don't have many songs left to include the band in, so Chris's piano escapade ends abruptly and a jam begins. One of my favorite parts of the album. A dark moment, like a song played through the speakers in a concert while the band changes clothes for the encore. Ends with a Arab Poem, and kids singing. 8.5/10 Champions of the World - Yay the band is finally back together!! So after all that, for a while, it does feel like the band is never coming back to be honest. But this track is a slow, rolling beat type of song with cool guitar Motifs throughout, and a Beatle-esque vocal melody where Will's voice takes center stage. Quite cool track! But after it ended I didn't find myself remembering much of the melody 9/10 Everyday Life - This is another of my favorites. The way Chris's melody begins really gets to me, it's such an unexpected melody. Another beautiful song, with Davide playing a really important role on it. His strings are all over. Wish they had included more of Jonny's guitars we heard on the live performance and that the song was a bit longer, but Guy's bass is damn genius on this track! 9.5/10 So currently my personal ranking of their albums goes VIva > Mylo > AHFOD > EL > X&Y > AROBTTH > Parachutes > GS EL could overtake AHFOD potentially, but it's mostly a sad album and honestly I don't want sadness to be such a present feeling in my life right now.
  16. For those who have heard it, what is the song they first tease us with? The one with just strings on the teaser?
  17. Ahhh the community tab! No one had mentioned that before haha, thanks so much!
  18. Where did they even post the poll? I can't find it on their twitter, website or youtube... :worried:
  19. Same, how are people getting the right link and I see nothing too?!
  20. They took the poll down?
  21. Lol, sounds nothing like Strawberry Swing. It's more like Folk music which I don't enjoy much. I only like very few Mumfurd and Sons songs, and mostly the ones that sound not so folky from "Wilder Mind".. So maybe the song changes after this part, and not into a full Folk song, but feel like it will be a full Folk tune.. which may grow on me just cause it's Coldplay, we'll see.
  22. Hmmm guess I'm not that excited for Guns after that preview, that's def a style of music I'm not into. But maybe the song has a change somewhere and it actually takes me by surprise.
  23. Thanks, I saw that one haha. Thats why I asked about the SiriousXM one.
  24. When is the Serious FM interview out? I'm so bummed to hear that a lot of the tracks are short voice memos though :( So there's really only like 10 more songs we haven't heard?
