  1. oh god... The Young Turks... I can't stand that guy
  2. This country has always been based off of capitalism, and he wants to make everyone equal financially. Ideally it's a good idea but it never works, as we can see w/ Russia. Why capitalism works and has made the country so successful is because it shows that if you put yourself out there, work hard, and do well you can be successful and make a lot of money. So essentially it's an incentive system. The incentive to doing well is making money. Now if you start taking this money away from people and redistribute it people aren't going to want to work as hard, be innovative and will most likely move away to another country. So yes people constantly talk about how the rich people are bad in the country and they make too much money, which in some sense is true... but at the same time it is the rich people that have made all these innovations and large companies which has created so many jobs and boosted the economy. So Obama is trying to change the face of the country to something we've never seen, and wants the govenment to take control of everything
  3. I hate to think of the album being dead. Personally I enjoy songs on their own but I'd prefer a set of songs that work together rather than individual songs.
  4. thanks to all those that came! here's what was played
  5. Yes he inherited a big mess, but he has spent more money than any other president... trillions of dollars. Not to mention he's the most radical president, that really doesn't care about the people in the sense that most of the country didn't want healthcare reform the way he wanted to do it (filled w/ tons of junk). He refuses to work across the aisle, which is sheer ignorance on his part that's dividing the country even more. He thinks that government is the solution to every problem, when in fact it's been government that's screwed up the country. I find it really interesting because in some sense Bush was fiscally a democrat because he just kept spending and Obama really is just following his lead. With sucha big problem as this economic crisis, you'd expect the president to work with everyone but he hasn't. Also he's trying to change the country around completely making it something that it is not by redistributing wealth which will destroy the country.

  7. probably soon... i just need to getthings set up
  8. might try to do one in about an hour to 2 hours or so if anyone is interested
  9. I also joke w/ my sister sometimes about it, because she's very open and for it. But it's all in good fun and she knows it... i just like to push her buttons sometime :P But seriously I personally feel that women should have the same rights/opportunities or pay as men. I think it is also very old fashioned and ignorant to think that a woman's job is to stay home, clean, and take care of the kids. They should be allowed to do whatever they like I feel that this is a topic that goes into many different categories such as race/ethnicity, orientation, skin color, religion, etc. because it has to do with a common theme of equal rights. I personally feel it to be wrong to judge someone simply based off of them being different no matter what the area it is. I think everyone should have an equal opportunity to get a job or whatnot. At the same time I don't believe in Affirmative Action in the sense that I think when it comes to jobs people should be hired only on the basis of qualifications (and of course background history)... anything else doesn't matter
  10. reminds me of that movie "There's Something About Mary"

my whole take on drugs is that they should be legalized, however only if they are not lethal from small/limited usage (like mentioned in the article, meth, crack, heroin) and also do not have a very high addiction rate. I personally feel that people should learn to be responsible and know how to moderate themselves, and of course as cynical as it may sound if they have too much it's their fault. I personally don't understand how people can just binge on these things. I mean I enjoy to drink, but I've never had a time where I black out or have a massive hangover... I just feel after a certain point there's no need to continue.
  12. my most recent purchase was a buttered roll and a hazelnut iced coffee
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. that's a trippy picture briggins...haha you look like an avatar  also Jules, your picture reminds me of someone I used to work with she had the same kind of glasses and facial features. nice pics everyone
  15. ah... yeah that could be a problem
  16. yeah that really sucks Lore! I'm sorry! That's one thing I find a bit annoying about McCartney... he has so much money already (one of the richest musicians ever), yet he still charges so much for shows. It's like the diehard fans that don't have so much money can't go. I mean even when I went I remember my dad complaining of the pricing. Well I hope you can get a ticket somehow! ...or at least be able to sneak in :sneaky:

though alcohol may be the most dangerous for other people it's all about knowing how to moderate yourself and not make stupid decisions (like... hmm... get behind the wheel). But a lot of people are just to irresponsible and idiotic to know how to moderate and also not do stupid things like drive.
  18. this year you would've never even thought it was halloween. no people came for candy and when i looked outside there was no one
  19. I guess that makes sense, but i find it nearly impossibly for that to happen. I mean even if say people are fed up, then they'll vote for another party to kick the people out. I just feel that with the current state of the country that in some sense there's no hope. I mean the republicans fucked up w/ bush, and now the democrats are screwing up w/ obama. And with the increasing debt... I just don't see how the hell things get paid off. I'm afraid of what will happen to the country in general.
  20. yeah but i've never seen a president campaign so much after he got into office and not during his own campaign
  21. I still don't think he realizes that the campaign ended 2 years ago...
  22. i found that very interesting. The only thing I don't get is that he talks about being enslaved and everything w/ voting which i understand, and also being suppressed by the government and what it's done too. But if we are to break away or change things then how will it be done since voting will continue?
