Secret Santa 2010.
Yep, one of those was from me and it took over a month to get from the UK to Chile, even though I went to the post office, got the packaged weighed and sent it with the correct postage via airmail. I guess due to the harsh winter weather in Europe this year, there have been unprecedented delays. :(

Secret Santa 2010.
I agree with all this. It has to be said, there are cards just arrving now that were sent in the middle of December - a few people in my half of the list didn't send their cards until one or two days before and after Christmas. Those cards were never going to arrive in time, they'll probably get there next week

Gwyneth...
She's going to be on Jimmy Fallon tonight, he tweeted earlier: https://twitter.com/#!/jimmyfallon/status/21937343892033537 And also I came across a bit about the Cee-lo story on the E! News twitter feed: Is the Gwyneth Paltrow-Cee Lo Duet Really Happening? http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b218528_gwyneth_paltrow-cee_lo_duet_really.html?cmpid=sn-000000-twitterfeed-365-top_stories&utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=twitterfeed&utm_campaign=twitterfeed_celebrities_top_stories

Secret Santa 2010.
To give people an idea of the kinds of delays that have happened this year... I sent a package to New Jersey via air mail at the beginning of December. Normally that would take 5-6 days, but this time it actually took 3 weeks. The weather seems to have slowed things down considerably :(

Secret Santa 2010.
I had that black and white picture of them in the studio as the wallpaper on my laptop at work for a while - the kids in my class thought Will was actually Harry Hill :laugh3: For our overseas Santa's who don't know who Harry Hill is... Gwyneth...
Well that particular "news"paper is full of snarky articles about women! I wonder if it was maybe a conscious decision for him not to teach her. When people are learning to drive, they say you shouldn't learn from your partner because it's too stressful (my Mum said she was ready to throttle my Dad :P ) Maybe it's the same when learning to play an instrument?

Hmm... I wonder if my Back for Good video picked up Mich's vocals :sneaky:

Secret Santa 2010.
Don't worry - if a match is unsure who sent their card, they usually get in touch with the elves to find out. I've had a couple of PM's like that :)

Secret Santa 2010.
I would actually estimate that about half of Team Europe sent their card less than 10 days before Christmas - those cards really didn't stand a chance of getting there in time. I don't think people considered the fact that post always takes longer at Christmas, and then the snow across Europe slowed everything down even more. I also have 5 people who haven't replied to several requests to confirm if they posted their card. I'm assuming no reply means no card :( I'll send one myself to their matches who are missing out. As Lore said, we started everything earlier this year, I'm really disappointed that so many people have been kept waiting for their cards and that some people appear not to have sent a card at all :(

I think the guy behind me had a really fancy camera, because the security guard kept giving the evil eye, even once the band had finished and were just taking their final bow

Just realised I never posted a picture of the card I received from djibou (so long since I've been on photobucket I struggled to remember my password :p) It's not a very good picture, but it was a lovely card :)

Secret Santa 2010.
Santa works in mysterious ways... believe it or not, we mixed the participants list up a bit this year to try and ensure people didn't get the same match, but still a couple happened. Destiny obviously really wants you guys to keep in touch! :laugh3:

Secret Santa 2010.
To perhaps put some minds at ease, my Santa card went to America and I sent it via air mail. Normally that would take 5 or 6 days, but this time it took two weeks. Mail is always slower at Christmas, and the snow in Europe is making everything travel slower - both outbound and inbound mail. I'm sure all those cards in the mail will show up eventually. :) It does, however, prove the point that you need to plan ahead. I'm afraid those of you who only mailed your card this weekend, won't see your card delivered until the new year. :elf:

Yeah, we've had our hopes raised for a live dvd so many times, but I really don't think it'll happen with this concert - perfectionist Chris made too many mistakes :p They probably just filmed it for their own personal archive - maybe they'll review it when they plan the next tour, it might help them pick which songs to keep in (if Phil reads this, Shiver went down reeeeeaaalllly well, didn't it :wink3:)

Secret Santa 2010.
I got a VM to say mine has a arrived, which is a relief :) If those who haven't sent their cards are keeping up with this thread, Can I remind you that Lore and I did ask you to tell us if you had to frop out. Sometimes life just gets in the way of stuff like this, and we understand that, but if you don't send anything and don't tell us, then you're going to leave someone very disappointed, and that isn't fair (nor is it the coldplaying way!). As Lore said, last year some of us sent two cards - I even sent a couple of non-Christmas cards in January, to try and make sure everyone got one. But we're not mind readers, we're elves :p

[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
Someone was asking for a highlight - I honestly couldn't pick one out. I was amazing to hear Shiver live again, to see them perform Back for Good with Gary was amazing, and they opened the show with my personal favourite, In My Place. It felt like my dream setlist. I think the abiding memory I will take with me isn't a song, it's the mood. I have genuinely never seen them all so happy and at ease. They were just loving the fact they were playing for an audience - I've been critical of Liverpool crowds in the past but this audience was fantastic (maybe it's because there were so many people who travelled so far, through such hard circumstances - they were determined to have fun). The band really seemed to feed of the crowds energy. Chris made a comment in the soundcheck about how they've been in "studio mode". I think they were alsmost relieved to be playing in front of other people again. He was back to his self-deprecating best "We're happy to close for Peter Kaye and the Choir With No Name"... "The new music's attrocious and I can't f***ing play it Sorry, I'm rambling again... I'll go away now... I'm still just buzzed about the whole thing. The day after a concert I'm usually a bit down because the excitement is over, but over the course of the day little memories keep popping in to my head and I get goosbumps all over again!

Mich picked up about 30 new followers and I got nearly 20. Think lndnsky was promoting us heavily :laugh3: They'll lose interest soon enough when they see how boring my life normally is

Can't really compete with that review from Mich! Will try and put some thoughts together later, for now I will just agree with Mich (the Coldplaying Fairy Godmother :wink3:) that it was the best I've ever seen them: happy, confident, goofy, yet with rockstar swagger. The mistakes were dealt with in the sweetest, most charming manner and just added to the whole thing. I think they all, but Chris in particular thrive off a small, intimate crowd, but perhaps Exeter was a little too small. I guess the audience was about double the size last night and it made all the difference. But also it seemed they seemed really refreshed - the shackles of touring are off, there was no pressure to deliver new material - Chris announced early on that it would be "the greatest hits" last night, then joked "We've only got three so we'll be off in 10 minutes" :D I feel so lucky to have been there - and actually glad that I'm an idiot who left her camera at work, it left me free to just enjoy. Although I'm aware that I enjoy other peoples posts from concerts so I tried to tweet during the show, I hope they somehow caught the atmosphere of the night. When I came out, my initial reaction was "I might never go and see them again" It was so perfect, I doubt it could ever be topped. Of course, when the next tour comes round I'll forget about that. Then Mich will tell me what ridiculous time we're queuing and I'll forget that this morning my feet are still throbbing from yesterday. She's such a bad influence, that girl :p Ok, that's enough from my tired brain now. Need food, painkillers, then more sleep....

Secret Santa 2010.
Back from my mammoth Coldplay adventure at the Liverpool gig yesterday! Thanks to everyone from Team Europe who has PM'd me, I'll tot up the new total and post later. Only a few people in Europe not sent them now I think. Please hurry! :elf:
