Honestly, the band doesn't make that much money at all off of album sales. Most of their money is in the touring and merchandise. Still, go out and buy the album, but it's not like Coldplay's gonna go without anything to eat because of a leak. That's why Chris Martin could care less if it leaks. The only ones really hurt by it are EMI because they don't make money off of the tour. A study done in Canada also found that piracy INCREASES album sales. Imagine a guy who's never been a Coldplay fan and who would never in a million years buy the album, decides to download the leak to check it out, loves it and so he goes and buys it. It happens all the time and I'm proof of that, that's how I've discovered many of my favorite bands.

the week before it releases here in the states, i'm gonna have to stop coming on here. i know it will leak and also our british friends will be going crazy over it.

I'm sorry to have started this discussion, then. I was hoping to share with others how one could interpret SOME (not all) of Coldplay's songs as having a deeper spiritual meaning to those who are spiritual, but unfortunately this has turned into an argument against Christianity. I can only hope and pray that those who do not believe will one day accept Christ before it's too late., and as far as quoting the Bible, I hope you truly ponder the words that the apostle Paul spoke to the people of Rome who had rejected God.

I guess to each his own, but I agree that Coldplay's lyrics are very flexible. I just try to find spiritual value in a lot of the music I listen to, and it increases my enjoyment of the music. I will leave you with these thoughts from the apostle Paul, however: Romans 1:16-24 I do not mean this as a slam, but rather as something to ponder.

ALL THE TIME!!! i never can figure it out but every time i think of coldplay i get that hoouse vibe. i think its cuz they both look alike and they're both british and house plays piano and sounds like he'd be a coldplay fan for sure. that picture of chris covering his mouth, i thought that was house! i had to look again to make sure it wasn't lol.

I'm with you, 93.7 and 93.3 both don't play Coldplay, so I wouldn't expect to hear them around here.

I personally think they should suck it up and get back together. That would be one of the biggest stories in music in quite awhile. Metallica survived similar problems and they've been able to stay together and put together what sounds like an amazing album so far.

Mainly what you said, the fact that he blames white people for nearly every injustice ever made against African Americans or Africans in general. That's Black Liberation Theology, however. Their theology is largely based upon a hatred of the white race and their belief that God will punish white people, even going as far as saying that if God chooses not to punish the white people, then blacks should reject His love. It's a flawed theology based upon racism. You can tell from his manner of speech and other sermons that he has made that he's a racist. The whole church is like that, apparently. I respect all people regardless of what religion they practice, but I do believe there's only one true religion.

Personal experience and faith have confirmed it, that's all I can say. Christianity is largely based on faith, though if you do enough research you will find that Christianity is supported by logic. I won't get into it here, though. I meant for this to be about Coldplay's spirituality but we got a bit off-topic.
