oh plus i forgot that when they played st. paul a few days ago chris told the crowd they would be back in the near future with some new music as well, i dont know if that just means the ep, or a new album or whatever, but its good news anyways. plus, its only their 4th record (excluding the live one), they really do have quite a long way to go in that sense.

plus, can you even see chris having a normal job? didnt think so.

remember that there has been plenty of inteviews since this record has come out about how they are going to basically keep going as a band...they may not have put it in plain choice of words like "we will make 5 more albums" type thing, but there has been plenty, plenty of different things all the members have said about continuing on from where will has said that the first 3 albums are a trilogy and this is the new direction to when chris said this record is the first album in this direction and they want to see where it ends up...plus, coldplay has never ever been the type of band to plan anything to far, so asking them about their next record regardless of what an interview said about the future when they havent even played 1 hometown gig in london is shooting a bit too far... weve still got an entire year ahead of us of more viva la vida promotion so lets all relax and continue to enjoy this record for a while as well as the ep when its released.

my opinion is that i agree with what he's saying to a certain extent, the other "biggest bands" in the world have been on holiday making new records and such, but the thing is, regardless of that, coldplay will always sell out concerts and sell records, because they write great songs and that will never ever change due to some other band being big at the time. yes they all have families and children and such, but if you think about it, chris has been planning the end of the band since parachutes was released and he always says this can end tomorrow so they always try and make the best of it. the only thing that worries me is that with this ep being released in a few weeks, that officially marks the end of their contract to EMI. so who really knows what will happen after the touring cycle for viva la vida is done. they may call it quits, they may make another 15 records and just tour differently who knows. im not worried about it until it happens, and even then there is always other bands that will be around to help make up for it if coldplay does take a break or call it quits, they have been an amazing band to say the least and they have been a majorly part of my life, but honestly, i dont see this as being it, i really dont. i respect them to the utmost and whatever decision they choose to do is up to them obviously. but viva la vida cannot be the last coldplay record simply because its a brand new sound for them. im sure they want to explore other areas of it before its all said and done. the only difference might be there record releases and touring schedule.

hey all, just got home and finished editing my photos from the show, i was rather close (7th row on the floor) and so i got a few really cool/weird pictures of chris and johnny rocking out together and stuff, including a picture of when i thought chris was passed out before launching right into "Lost?". The setlist is correct, although the coolest part of the show for me was when they came back on for their first encore and launched right into "Politik", that song is one of my favorites but just the way the did it where no one was expecting it anyways was the coolest feeling in the world. But the best song of the night for me for some reason was "The Escapist" because live the song transitions soooo much better then I could have ever imagined, and it totally sounds horribly bad on the record compared to a live setting. They played "Chinese Sleep Chant" as well, which was a incredibly treat and they also did a very, very cool techno version of "Viva La Vida" on the speakers inbetween their "in the crowd" acoustic section. If anyone knows more about that part and where I can find that techno version please let me know, I loved it, along with the 5 minutes straight of cell phones that litup the entire place. it was beautiful. So for a first Coldplay show, it was the best show I have ever been to. Cant wait until the next U.S. tour or next album! I do have pictures, but I dont know how to upload them through here yet.

im not sure but i read somewhere that half of these dates that got postponed are being cancelled, and there is no rescheduled dates to be announced unless its announced within the next day or so. like my date was pushed back to november, but ticketmaster removed like 5 shows from the site..

this is what i get for downloading their leaked album a week before release date, a great summer show pushed back 4 months. karma sucks.

dammit, shit, im not super happy about this, i was so stoked to see them on july 8th it worked out great for me for a summer show and now my show is frickin the middle of november, dammit thats lame. screw their production haha, i just wanna see them play. frickin november 14th?? u serious coldplay????? come on.

i hope you know that the rules state that as soon as one email is confirmed no more entries will be valid. THE RULE FOR VALID ENTRIES IS SIMPLE: you can enter as many times as you want but once you confirm your email address and it gives you the page that says "congratulations your entered" that after that no more entries from that email will be accepted, it DOES NOT mean that you will be disqualified completely if you have tried to enter more then once with one email, it JUST means that any additional confirmations will be discarded from the system and only the first/original entry is still valid. BUT TO EVERYONE THINKING THEY ARE DISQUALIFIED FOR MORE THEN ONE ENTRY, its not true!!! it ONLY means that your first confirmed email is the only entry that is valid for that email. because I myself used hotmail and entered over 25 times and never got the first confirmation email at all that it said i would "shortly". so i kept entering until i just said whatever to it, then around a week later i randomly got like 25 confirmation emails that all said the same thing, and from there i confirmed my email address ONCE and i was officially entered, and from there it said any additional entries from the same email will be discarded, NOT if you enter more then once your disqualified. sorry for the extra long explanation, im just attempting to completely clear this up for everyone that is afraid they are screwed for entering more then once. the majority of the people ive talked to back in the days when the contest was running, more then half of them never got the first email to confirm their email within the first few days, and with this contest being as large as it is, and as late as its being ended/announced, i honestly have no idea why certain people have already gotten e-mails saying they have won a pair of tickets, but the official email i got said that on june 5th the winners will be announced/notified, so no matter what im staying optimistic until thursday. and even if i dont win any tickets, ive already got tix to the minneapolis show im and very, very, very close to the stage so ill have an extremely happy july 8th with coldplay, although i do feel EXTREMELY bad to anyone who cant see them in their own town and who wont see them on this tour, that just sucks, but good news is, less then 2 weeks until the records out for the U.S.!! PLUS, no one has been announced as the grand prize winner yet anyways, soooo we all still have a chance.

for some reason their making this whole thing wayy too complicated and i have a feeling that since all these tickets are especially personalized or whatever that this show will not be packed out, not unless coldplay can fly people in and give them a hotel, but like i said, its quite complicated. and they really cut the winners announcement down to the last second. i just keep imagining a halfway full MSG cause no one could get there or cause people just dont have the money to get there

in my opinion it wasnt the smartest thing for them to do to have the winners being announced so late, maybe if the concert was sometime in july then it gives you at least a month to get everything prepared, but 2 weeks?? come on, thats like nothing, and ill barely even be able to afford a plane ticket let alone a hotel for even a night even if i do win, ill try my best to get there somehow but there is only so much i can do in 2 weeks notice.

i know the MSG show wasnt exclusively given to U.S. residents, but then you could say the exact same thing for the London show, cause I entered for both anyways. It would just make sense if the grand prize winner was maybe for an international fan, cause I doubt coldplay is super behind having a bunch of people fly overseas for a concert.

no i doubt signing up multiple times will affect anyone at all really, i entered with the same email address (hotmail) like 20 times because i never received the confirmation email for any of the entrances, and then like a week after i got at least 21 emails confirming my email address, and i confirmed it only once, so im pretty sure as long as you confirmed it once thats your entry, if you keep adding entries im pretty sure only the first one will be valid.

honestly, if coldplay is playing MADISON SQUARE GARDEN and the official e-mail told us that the winners will be notified on June 5th, I am 200% sure that more then 3 coldplayers will win tickets. Now as for the grand prize winner, Im sure were all screwed, haha, but hey, Im sure the majority of us will get tickets, and Im also pretty sure no one in the UK will be winning any tickets to the MSG show cause their is one in London already. Think about it guys (and girls), there is a logical reason they have a few free shows in different parts of the world, excluding the grand prize, Im pretty sure the MSG show is only available to people who reside in the U.S. And vice versa for the London gig for U.S. residents. And even at 2 tickets per person to completely or close to fill up MSG thats a lot of tix to give away, you guys should really consider this instead, I'll feel bad for the small majority of people who dont win tickets for the show cause so many of us most likely will. IDK, maybe im just being wayyy too optimistic about it all, I just think everyone has an incredibly strong chance of winning.

very very possible. i entered using my hotmail email account at least 10-20 times cause i never got the confirmation e-mail soon after. but then a week later i got like 25 messages from coldplay.com wanting to confirm my email was mine so im treating this the same exact way. plus in my own opinion, ill wait even past the point of getting an email until the tickets actually come in the mail to believe i won tickets. or it could be that a computer is doing this and its emailing by area code (meaning starting with the closest and then going further and further away, a lot of contests that are on a very massive scale like this are done this way in order to keep it in order so that too many tix dont go out or so that seats arent double or triple given away) just my own theory though.

it would be incredibly nice to win this, but ive already got my tickets for their full tour coming through minneapolis and although i did have to pay more then ive ever paid for a concert before, i have insanely great seats, so no matter what, im a happy person. but i do hope everyone on here wins them, cause i think everyone here deserves a pair quite badly. its only right, haha.
