After all, it's opinion. :D ;) Expanding into other genres is one of the hardest things to do. I hear a track from Parachutes - it's written Coldplay all over it. I hear a track from Viva La Vida - it's written Coldplay all over it. In my opinion, there's nothing to critize, as after all we still listen to the same band. They do sound different, yea, that's great. I don't want to listen to a band that makes the same music over and over again. This could be done by many people, but to sound different and still have a little thing (may it be the kind of playing the guitar, etc) that makes a track automatically connected to the band. This isn't possible by many people.
