Same with me. I have a too good a metabolism. But i'm 20, so I have 4 years left!
  2. New York City four-piece Vampire Weekend is headed back here this November for one show in Sydney. The well-heeled lads were last here for Splendour In The Grass 2008, following their breakout self-titled debut album. A listing on Moshtix and on the Vampire Weekend MySpace has the band locked in for an intimate show at Oxford Art Factory on Saturday 21 November. While no other dates have yet been announced, this could be a promo tour to drum up hype for much-anticipated second LP Contra. Watch this space. http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/20653/Vampire-Weekend-here-in-November.htm FUCK YOU, EXAMS. AND FUCK YOU, SYDNEY.
  3. Oh, no. That doesn't sound good at all. Although, it means Powderfinger will probably play Blue stage before Lilly Allen, and Kasabian will be on the green stage. I hope, green stage was my favourite last year.
  4. Have you heard the acoustic versons of You Don't Know Love, Papillon, and Eat Read Meat = Blood Drool? They're pretty good.
  5. There are 2 different versions (one faster) of the song doing the rounds at the moment: The video doesnt work on this, but the mp3 should help. http://prettymuchamazing.com/mp3/vampire-weekend-white-sky-live-on-jimmy-fallon
  6. Well, Mexico has beaches. EDIT: Lyrics: Album art somewhat ties into the song.
  7. It'll be their second. Chun Li's Spinning Bird Kick was an instrumental, the b-side from 'Dace Floor'
  8. It's pretty catchy after 10 listens! I prefer White Sky too. Why does it suit it? Horchata is a summers cocktail, isn't it?
  9. True, but a beach picture suits Horchata

  11. Who isn't!??! And how awesome is the cover art
  12. So far: I have (from Contra) 1. Horchata 2. White Sky (Live) and they are both brilliant.

  14. Hmm. I bagged the shit out of this album initially, but it's growing. I just think that a majority of the songs are good, but they are not great. 1st track seems to go nowhere, there is a tremendous build up, to a disappointing climax - single note morse code, anyone? Bricks and mortar is average. Papillon still my favourite, this is awesome live (see Jools Holland). You don't know love has some awesome synths, it's my 3rd fave off the record. The Bix Exit, wow. Crapola. Boring. Repetitive. The Boxer, nice. Could easily go on the last record. Seems to me like a good closer rather than track 6. Like treasure is another average track that could have been better with guitars and a faster tempo. Eat Red Meat? Wow. This is awesome. One of the weirdest songs of the year, my equal favourite, it's so good. Synths work on this track. I think this song epitomizes what the band wanted from this record, and what they didn't end up getting consistently. LOVE it. Walk the fleet road is a decent closer, nothing amazing. I look forward to Cuttings 2, as we could be in for a few more surprises. Right now, this LP is about a 7/10. A shame considering The Back Room was 9 and an End Has A Start was a 10. I have no problem with a band 'changing direction', but they have to do it well. Take the Arctic Monkeys' new album, for example. Still looking forward to seeing/hearing new songs played live in January if these songs are played: In this light and on this evening, Papillon, You Don't Know Love, Eat Meat = Blood Drool.
  15. Rumors are Fright Lined Dining Room is an instrumental!
  16. Arctic Monkeys are pleased to announce that the 2nd single from their recent album 'Humbug' will be 'Cornerstone'. 'Cornerstone' shall be released on Monday 16th November 2009. Arctic Monkeys will once again join forces with Oxfam, more information to follow. 'Cornerstone' will be available on 7", 10" and Digital Download. The single will be backed with 3 brand new b-sides - 'Catapult', 'Sketchead' and 'Fright Lined Dining Room'. 7" A: Cornerstone B: Catapult 10" A: Cornerstone A1: Catapult B: Sketchead B1: Fright Lined Dining Room Digital Download 1. Cornerstone 2. Catapult 3. Sketchead 4. Fright Lined Dining Room

As Marshall on How I Met Your Mother would say, You got "Lawyered" lol $135 is a lot to see them, anyway!
  18. And why should this be the norm?
  19. Looks pretty standard, similar to the first gigs they played this tour.
  20. tauiwi replied to Sweet One's topic in The World Of Music
    This was you.
  21. tauiwi replied to Reilly's topic in The World Of Music

  23. tauiwi replied to Sweet One's topic in The World Of Music

  24. tauiwi replied to Reilly's topic in The World Of Music
