Does anyone think the lyrics on the new songs are fairly mediocre? The songs are wonderful but the lyrics fairly obvious; basically just words that rhyme. Anyways, I'm saying I hope Chris's lyrics haven't taken a turn for the worse, and I hope they're better on the next LP.

Oddly enough, though, brown brings out my blue eyes.

Coldplay needs to hire someone new to master their forthcoming releases. It started with X&Y and has now perpetuated on Viva La Vida and Prospekt's March. They should do away with this loud, compressed nonsense and return to the warm and organic mastering style of Parachutes and AROBTTH. On the new album, I can practically hear pixelation in Chris's voice, even playing straight from the CD or a lossless rip. Their past few releases have sounded horrible, almost painful to the ear. Anyone else agree?

I personally think this song is ripped straight from Achtung Baby to be completely honest.

Well, that Prospekt is Phil Harvey, their long-time friend and manager. But the Prospekt depicted in the song seems to me like an army marching into towns, taking innocent lives. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but at the end of the song itself, the person who the song is about is drifting to heaven (with Poppy Fields likely depicting heaven itself). I suspect that Prospekt is a metaphor for death. What a depressing song!

I think for me it was "Clocks," but I didn't realize they were my favorite band until "Speed of Sound."

My guess is that there's not actually a deluxe edition, and that's why there isn't a page to display when you click the link. Or, the deluxe edition could be the gatefold version which, from what I've heard on this site, is no different from the jewel case version.

I've heard in a few places that they were going to release an album next year, a la Amnesiac.

Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends > Parachutes > X&Y > A Rush of Blood to the Head IMO. But A Rush of Blood to the Head is still an EXCELLENT album.
