I know this thread is a couple years late...but Amelie really is a gorgeous movie. I mean the cinematography alone is to die for! The story line is beautiful ...I really cannot describe how much I love this movie! PS Matthieu Kassovitz is amazing in this film!

:lol: well it's a bit of an inside joke...cos I am always talking about going off and joining Polyphonic Spree and how it's fate cos I was born in Texas etc. and she thinks they're a cult...so I was going to give her a robe, cd, and formal invitation to come join.

I know these are sposed to be foreign films and all but I just saw this really amazing American indie film done by the Polish Brothers (their name is Polish...so for the purpose of introducing this wonderful film to the thread I will classify it as foreign...plus if you're not in America it's foreign....) Anyway film's called Northfork and it is absolutely gorgeous! I nearly crashed the car I was sobbing so much as I was driving home...it just kept running through my mind over and over. I love it when you leave the theater with a film that you have only just begun to understand....This really is a wonderful movie!

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a Polyphonic Spree Robe...and can get it pretty quickly? It doesn't have to be official or anything....I just need a robe like theirs!

ooooooo thought of another one...it was really popular..methinks it was called A Beautiful Life or summat really gorgeous Italian flick!

1.Goya in Bordeaux (French and Spanish) it's just plain odd but meaningful...helps ya understand many of his works... 2. 24 Hours in London (a UK film) I thought it was hilarious...a bit like a really low budget Snatch. 3. The Red Violin (a Quebecoise film...but it's got a whole bunch of languages) I absobloodylutely love this movie...I'll admit ...I cried ...but it's really a beautiful movie! 4. Russian Ark (Russian) it's really odd and gets a bit draggy toward the end but it's technically stunning! It's all done in one shot- absolutely no editing- takes you through a bit of Russian history plus shows you some beautiful shots of the Hermitage. 5. Monsoon Wedding (an Indian/English film that didn't get a huuuge playing over here) this one is quirky. That's it for now...I can't think of anymore...

LOL I like Eric too...him and Finch from the American Pie movies!!! and Mac as Bwabwa Walters calls him isn't so bad himself...a bit eccentric but I like that ...LOL :D

There's a hydroelectric dam that is built in rural Montana and a town is facing a great flood, so the government tries to get everyone out...but not everyone will go. There's a minister who has built an ark and is taking care of an orphan boy who claims to be a lost angel and some married people. So then a bunch of trench coated gov. officials are sent to get them out...but it turns out to be a philosophical question...it's sposed to be reeeeeeeeally amazing! From the previews I've seen I'd see it just for the technical beauty! :)

Sammie's got Donnie Darko, which you gotta love...and fifi's is hilarious..but i think DrPolitik gets the prize cos his are generally pretty cool.

Hello all! Here's the deal, I have to write an Extended Essay so that I can graduate and one day actually get some sleep. I have decided to do an evaluation of the Fair Trade Initiative and its possible effects on the world today from the point of view of third world nations. So if anyone has any sources talking about the Fair Trade Initiative...besides the varying Oxfam websites...preferably non-internet...and would be so kind as to inform me of them...I would greatly appreciate it!!!! I have a bunch of research already...but the more the merrier! Thanks!!!

yes...but that's a classic show...Red Dwarf is almost a classic show...give it a few more years...nothing can compete with classic shows!
