  1. Yes, but you know those articles with forecast for next year events are usually written way before. And they didn't have any source, it's just a guess. I still can't find any logic in releasing new album on festivals and only then on CD. If they has material before festivals they could easily release LP5 before gigs.
  2. Good call. Chris and other guys likes coincidences. They could built a nice promotion around it.
  3. It seems it was written way before New Year. So it's just a guess.
  4. Well I just don't get some odd points and want everyone to be optimistic. If they knew they will came on festivals with new material 6-7 month prior to date, it means this material has been done or in the final phase, so why they can't in this case release album before? It's pretty logical to me.
  5. A lot of artists are releasing new material during tours, but it doesn't mean they are "testing" it. And you should see things in the whole perspective. Guys has been recording new album over 2 years, they have already played (tested) at least 2 new songs. And why the hell they would announced 9 gigs after 2 years of recording just for testing? It doesn't make any sense at all. During release of a new album they have to do shitload of promotional stuff like interviews, radio, video appearances, free gigs, hidden gigs, family gigs, bbc gigs. There are no time for testing. A couple of month prior to release all studio masters must be done and went to factory. The schedule for gigs so tight it could mean only new tour.
  6. Did they ever do something like this before? Announcing 9 festivals gigs just for testing material? Or any other band? Jeez Christ. :o
  7. La Mancha sounds like obvious follower after VLV. It's highly unlikely. But could happen. And, well, only sound and lyrics has a matter. ;)
  8. Well sometimes I can't listen any Coldplay songs, sometimes I'm amazed how good this or that b-side I heard once in the past and disliked. So it's totally about your mood at the moment. But you have those you don't like more than others. In no particular order: Fix You Politic Yellow Violet Hill Viva La Vida
  9. Also it looks like Europe would have first leg of the tour, ta-daaa.
  10. Viva was announced in March 2008, if I remember correctly. Upd. Release date for VLV was confirmed on March, 15 2008: http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=4129 Title revealed on March 18, 2008: http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=4135
  11. That's true. Isn't LP5 the longest recording in their history? It suppose to be released in December of 2009 (and Christmas Lights definitely from "initial version" of LP5), and they spent another year to re-write and polish it. It should be good. At least. Btw I don't like Christmas Lights, it sounds like VLV follower in a bad meaning.
  12. Well, folks, I did some research about festivals gigs. I found this: Doesn't it looks like incomplete tour schedule, does it? So you may throw a stone at me but I bet we will heard new album as late as beginning of the May or probably even earlier. Because I doubt guys would start new tour at festival. So they would have at least couple of gigs before. Yuuhooo!
  13. That's like releasing dates for movies. Tentpoles always has the best releasing dates (usually May-July & November-December) for big box-office. New album is going to be huge. That's why I think they won't change successful formula and would release it somewhere in May or June. Because best time for touring is summer. And announced festivals gigs talk about the same. Everything is ready for new album. I remember we didn't hear about release date of VLV until March or something like that.
  14. anacaren08, in the end we all will be there on the show:) I am looking this summer for a trip to Amsterdam or Barcelona or any other great European city to catch new show!
  15. Source? It could be true and now guys is working about design, presentation and tour schedules. Btw announced festivals gigs this summer suggest they more or less in the final study.
  16. I doubt it's a hate. I understand why X&Y looks like a disappointment for many but nevertheless it was a step forward for the band. I don't hate Viva but as you mentioned before I want more depth. And now I even more enjoy and like Prospects EP than VLV. Well I think it would be good if the band could record experimental (check this [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5HanECXBtw]xylophone [/ame] stuff) and small (means w/o other big people names like Eno) album.
  17. I said it thousand times before - one day one new Coldplay album will suck. But it doesn't really matter cause the main thing is NEW WORLDWIDE TOUR! And for the record Viva and Parachutes my least favorite, but if I could choose I will prefer new album closer to Parachutes rather the last one. Which seems too polished and heartless. And the same team is recording new. So.. at least they will get rid of those ridiculous suits.
  18. Would this song be on the 5th album? I'm asking because CL sounds like another follow up to Viva. Extremely similar to Glass of Water. I'd prefer something different.
  19. X&Y is a great album no matter what critics said. Probably I'm the one who is sceptical about new album cause it looks like the same team (Davide Rossi, Eno, Hoskins) are working on this one. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Viva a lot but for me it less memorable album out of four. So I really would be glad if they would return to minimalistic style of the Parachutes or completely changed direction rather kind of copying previous successful collaboration. But hell, I would enjoy next album anyway, just give us some date!
  20. Hi! I will be there (i hope because delta.com don't accept my mastercard but i'm working about this) - lawn seats! It will be my second gig - last year i was in Berlin, first rows on the floor opposite scene - awesome concert! I hope new one will be even better! BTW anyone has poster? I want to share this exciting news with my friends in LJ but i can't find any art.
  21. Actually, Beatles NEVER played in USSR. Never. It's a myth.
  22. I hope they will come, but actually it's very small chances. Because of organisation of concerts in Russia, really very poor level and very big fee. Usual price is double compare to Europe and US. Madonna complains about her concert in 2006, she never came again to Russia. Like U2, Radiohead, Coldplay and other great bands.
