What happened to the boy in bandage?
Does anyone else read the blogs on http://www.coldplay.com? I was doing me usual browse and came across the recent post entitled, R#42 blogs amid crazy scenes in NYC. Apart from the obvious thoughts of wish I was there and thats sounds amazing, I was left feeling curious about "...a young lad with a pretty hefty bandage and sling". So what happened to him, anyone know?

Confess Your Weird Celebrity Crush!
Ok, feeling the love in this room I'm secure that you'll not poke fun. I have a crush on the Tazmanian Devil. I know it's really silly after all what could ever come of a cartoon character but his articulation leaves me in a spin...

Greetings!!!
Hi Amanda, welcome to the forum, new to this myself. I've been a fan of Coldplay's earlier work but nothing compared to the appreciation I have for their current album. I can't fault anything on there (well maybe just minor things) and It's hitting the spot pretty well at the moment. Had it on replay everyday since my better half bought me it the other week. (talking of which, he's feeling a bit left out, will have to sort that) Now that you've got the album, is Violet Hill still pretty up there, or has another taken your fancy more? Katharine :)

Violet Hill Discussion
I love Violet Hill, not sure about the title though. Anyway, I got images of prisoners working at the side of the road (like in that film, Cold Hand Luke) digging up turf, with the big oppressor watching from on high. (the whole digging up turf image was stimulated by the consistent beat throughout - very powerful). I also had images of the slave trade - men captured in shackles walking in single file to their fate, that kind of thing. I love the chorus and where it takes my voice, very bluesy, deeply emotional and highly provocative.

Reign of Love Appreciation Thread
Listening to Reign of Love without thinking too much about the lyrics it's deeply romantic. I automatically had images of the inside of steel drums shaped into balls reflecting light, butterflies in the air, springtime a overwhelming sense of new beginning and fresh starts. I wrote on the Facebook page that I felt it had a likeness to Plaisir d'amour in parts, I still think that. Having looked at the lyrics in more detail perhaps there's an element of penance involved with, "To the sea I offer This heavy load" and again repeated with, "My knees go praying". The use of Locusts stumped me at first initially placing them in the biblical sense, but that sharply contrasts with the beauty and purity of this song. Therefore I've now came to the conclusion that it's used in the context of, Plato's Phaedrus were Socrates says that Locusts were once human. Does anyone else agree, or have a different opinion? I love everything about this song, the music took over my mind.

If I don't shout this, I will explode!
Hi guxt I loved reading your thread, great title and I understand completely. I was just like that when I got the CD, totally blown over by the power, energy, passion and soul of this album. It's hugely optimistic and cleansing with a great sense of perspective. These guys know where it's at, big time! If you want to have a chat about any of the songs on there, please go for it. I'll stick in my tuppence worth too. :D

Hello Everyone Cheers for replying and for your comments. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, was having one of those, gonna kick my computer's heed in, moments yesterday. It's ancient and very slow so thought it was best to walk away. I'm laughing at signing off with my real name and not username - d'oh! Not joined many of these forum type sites, suppose the name's kinda fitting. Thanx 2732 for the compliment :) Not sure how things work in here, but happy to get any msgs etc and will get back to you just as soon as this pc allows. Currently listening to the new album, anyone else in love with it? I think of it first thing when I get up, I don't think of any other album throughout the day, sing only it's songs and then think of only it when I go to bed at night.... yep I've got it pretty bad.... Not to get too carried away but does anyone else feel like they've just had their soul cleansed? Every time I listen (and sing along to it) I get great sense of clarity, things just seem to make sense after it, like I said I'm in love :-) Love to read your thoughts, Peace
