I agree wholeheartedly. The movies just aren't the same with Michael Gambon, there's something about him that just doesn't seem to fit the role of Dumbledore... he makes Dumbledore seem a lot less friendly, too. Oh, and what's with that beard ring he always wears? :lol: I DID cry. For hours. And my dad's wedding was the same day... it was awful, because I kept tearing up when I thought of finishing the book that morning. :(

Yeah, the sad thing is... if you think about it, the Kennedy vs. Reagan election was almost entirely based on looks. Kennedy won that one because of his fantastic looks on TV... even my history textbook said everyone thought he was a lot sexier than Reagan, and therefore a better presidential candidate. :P :\

I think what the majority of the excitement is about is the fact that he's our first black president, and that this an extremely surreal and historical moment in US History and for all American citizens.

The upsetting thing is, he's not officially black, and people keep using that against him/using it to specify him. He's just as much white as he is black... a lot of reporters don't seem to get that, though. There's an article about it somewhere, I'll try to find it and link to it.

It's so terrible that she didn't get to see her grandson win, especially after molding him into who he is now. :( Viva Obama, though! :D
