Why did Guy do the London Marathon?
Well, I guess it might be nice for people *watching* Guy! ;)

Why did Guy do the London Marathon?
It's great you get a buzz from the event and people who do this clearly love it. I guess I'm more of a sprinter than a marathon runner, I *hated* endurance sports at school (like Cross Country) and still do. Short, sharp bursts of exercise are my limit! I'm baffled by self-imposed abuse and suffering! :)

Why did Guy do the London Marathon?
Well he is, and I'm glad you feel that way too...;) but it seemed out of character , no?

Why did Guy do the London Marathon?
Respect to Guy for doing this and the money he raised for charity. I am interested as to what motivates people to put themselves through so much suffering (there are other ways to raise money for charity :)) Isn't Guy on record as saying he hated sports at school? Given this, I would have thought it was the last thing he wanted to do..

Coldplay Haters
Leave Alone! Personally I'd just leave them alone... it's not good karma to be expending energy on hating someone.... ..unless that someone was Noel Gallagher of course .. in which case I'd plant a right hook in his face.... wait a minute .. someone already has! LOL :)

Join Coldplay's barmy army for ten quid
:laugh3: Perhaps the tabloids had been reading last week when I said they didn't "get" Coldplay's wit.... The funniest article I have ever seen in The Sun! :laugh3:

Have you ever met the Band?
The thread's massive, can you just link to it pls? Are you saying Guy's not fan-friendly?

Have you ever met the Band?
Don't worry: they're not too big on the UK either this year! :)

Have you ever met the Band?
It's funny you say that because of the 4 band members I'd put down Guy as the least likely to be gay (not that I'm casting aspertions on anyone else of course :) ) His mannerisms scream testorone to me and I think were anyone even suggest that to him I get the impression that he would bop them on the nose! Then again, my gaydar's been broken for years... I end up fancying all the str8 ones ... (I don't fancy Guy incidentally)

Radio2 Live: Coldplay - 30th August 2008 @ 7pm BST
Hmmph! Perhaps Coldplay need to think of a way that genuine fans can get to see their band, rather than money-grabbers who then flog the tickets on eBay! I'm sure someone as clever as Chris can work it out! Keane have a system where they email fans registered with them for tickets before they're publicy announced, though of course there's nothing to stop peeps registering who aren't fans I guess.

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
Missing Pics? What happened to all those missing pics on page 1 of this thread? Is Nick4Chris still with us to tell us?

? about Chris's voice
But that's the point several are making on this thread. Occassionally he seems to be struggling whereas previously he never had any problems. I've noticed that too, but I guess living with an American wife some of the accent must rub off onto him. More irksome is the fact so much of the tour is devoted to North America, yet we just get a slither in December here in the UK. Let's hope it's for the oft touted reason of running flawless shows here (the glitches having been ironed out elsewhere).

Why?

BBC Love to Hate Coldplay?
No, but you could apply the metaphors to any tyrant who has fallen from grace and lost power. Many people believe the lyrics of Viva La Vida to be about Tony Blair, which Chris has always emphatically denied.

? about Chris's voice
When it's great it's great but I've noticed recently when performing live (whether through nerves or what I don't know) Chris has moments where he misses notes or doesn't sound as good live. The US tour (what I've seen of it) has been OK, but some live performances on TV have been poor but his previous standards. I'm hoping it's just nerves and not something that's happening to his voice. It's one of the most beautiful sounds on the planet when firing on all cylinders!

BBC Love to Hate Coldplay?

The Mirror: Chris Martin reveals sewing is key to Coldplay's success
Chris is far more intelligent than they realise or understand. You don't just get a 1st class degree by accident: you need to really bright. Chris knows exactly what he's doing with these stories, and I'm sure he laughs a lot later about it. I'm not sure that they did make their costumes: I think it was a joke all along!

Coldplay for the London Olympics 2012
The king of anthemic rock should be given the task of the anthem, or at very least performing one of theirs at the ceremony. I sooo want Coldplay to do this but not sure it would be their bag.

A street named after Coldplay...
Were this to happen in the UK, then it would be in Milton Keynes, where there is already an estate where streets are named after singers and bands - Crownhill, see: http://www.multimap.com/maps/?lat=52.38859&lon=-0.93054&zoomFactor=8#map=52.0273,-0.80126|17|4&dp=830&loc=GB:52.0413:-0.76092:13|milton%20keynes|Milton%20Keynes,%20Central%20Milton%20Keynes,%20Buckinghamshire,%20England,%20MK9%202 http://www.multimap.com/maps/?lat=52.38859&lon=-0.93054&zoomFactor=8#map=52.02952,-0.80315|16|4&dp=830&loc=GB:52.02952:-0.80315:14|crownhill%20milton%20keynes|Crownhill,%20Milton%20Keynes,%20Buckinghamshire,%20England,%20MK8%200

The Mirror: Chris Martin reveals sewing is key to Coldplay's success
Yes, you get the impression Chris is having the last laugh chuckling away to himself somewhere. He plays up to the image the press have of him time and again and they STILL don't get it!

Perhaps it was symbolic in some way?

The Mirror: Chris Martin reveals sewing is key to Coldplay's success
It's classic Chris. It's done to tease the critics. I heard an equally funny one on the radio on Saturday: "I don't like to trash hotel rooms because I used to clean them". It produced the intended response from the DJ: "Chris Martin: sooo rock and roll" He then went on to say "there's nothing worse as a cleaner than arriving at a hotel room that's been trashed. Makes you want to go on your tea break". Chris knows how to play his critics - and audience. I think his nickname should be "Pied Piper" :)
