  1. This wonderful thread.. Has any of the regulars to this wonderful thread got pics of MR Berryman san shoes after he passed out in front of a speaker a few year's ago and the other band members removed his shoes?
  2. There's an innocence in their faces that's missing now. Berryman also has lost considerble weiight since that was shot.. It's funny because in that pic, with his long curly hair, he doesn't appear that attractive to me... but now with his short hair and a chiseled jaw......:shocked2:
  3. I couldn't agree more either with those views, but something has gone wrong recently with his voice in his live performances. It was really noticeable on Later with Jools Holland, the rest of the band singing much more on "42" for example, to make up for it. I hope Chris gets the rest his voice needs, becuase I love its sound when on fine form.
  4. Personally I don't like the Apple ad as it's too "corporate" and doesn't resemble the Coldplay I love. For a similar reasons, I'm not too fond of the official video for VLV.. it's like they used the concepts in the Apple ad, and just used the Eugene Delacroix backdrop. The alternative video for VLV - on the other hand - is their best video to date. IMO. It personfies the band perfectly and captures what they're all about: witty, ironic, irreverant, charming, as well as capturing the mood of the song VLV. I love the alternate version! That is the Coldplay I love!
  5. Was the setlist cut down for the show yesterday? I only remember VH, LIJ, then 42 then VLV I don't recall Lost! at all on the iPlayer this morning!
  6. Is it just me or does Guy look incredibly camp in this pic? Mind you, they are all looking dodgy in this photo, esp Will and Johnny! I wonder what they saw? Where are they?
  7. I'm seeing them live at the 02 gig on the 16th Dec, and worried that by that time, his voice will be shot to pieces. Pls, pls pls Chris tour the UK 1st next time...
  8. VLV era for me, but he does look great also in AROBTH also. X & Y he looks like he needs a good haircut, he looks like a mad scientist!
  9. I rarely remember dreams, but since my Nan died last year I've had quite a few involving her and - more recently - my Grandfather. The last one involving my Grandfather, he had something quite fantastical to say about Chris....
  10. I missed the first 20 minutes of Later.... but caught up this morning on iPlayer. Did they cut the Coldplay interview from the transmitted version?
  11. It's a French bistro (and therefore authentic!) :D
  12. Yeah.. what's happened to Chris' voice? I said this earlier this year (I think it was the Jonathan Woss gig) His voice just wasn't right in Viva La Vida? :(
  13. It's beautiful as ever, but the BBC appear to have screwed up the mix from Chris' mike during the second part of the vocals..
  14. At least they record their own backing tracks! :) The sight of Guy Berryman playing double-bass for the string backing for Viva La Vida is a sight to behold! :)
  15. Viva La Vida alternate for me Viva La Viva -alternative - for me is the best Coldplay video ever. It captures the essence and spirit of what Coldplay are about in one video, far better than anything else does: witty, funny, irreverant, ironic, charming, and it looks like the guys had a blast making it. Coldplay personified in a video. I hope it gets a release... let's have a Coldplay Videos DVD please! (including the alternative ones!)
  16. Captures the mood of the song Viva La Vida? (ironically better than the original painting used for album)
  17. Perhaps it's because it's a completely different style of music to Coldplay's? Personally, I don't mind: as they're bonus tracks, but I'm not a fan of hip hop at all.
  18. Chris' handwriting.. Bad handwriting is a sign of great intelligence! Looking forward to this. More Coldplay is always a good thing...
  19. :laugh3: Reminds me of the "brat pack" in Whistler who "go to ski" but do nothing but wander round the week on their mobile phones wearing the gear "because it's cool" without actually boarding or skiing. I wonder why the band doesn't think of a lottery system to pre-registered fans? Problem there though I think is how do you stop professional touts simply abusing that system as well by signing up? There's no point citing band knowledge as "proof" of being a fan, because these days, *anything* can be found on the internet - as we've seen over things like the Bakery on this very forum! Perhaps for the next tour Chris & Co should spend a month prior to touring interviewing all really dedicated fans for a 5m slot each. Those that really entertain the band with their answers get special slots reserved! Not feasible of course, but in an ideal world....
  20. Can I do the video? Could this be the origin for Chris' doubts about his weight... Simon Pegg, see: http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/03102008/5/pegg-says-gervais-quot-fat-quot-jibe-quot-teasing-quot-0.html
