Carla, I'm so disappointed in you after my love letter to you last week! :) Just as you covet Guy for yourselves, doesn't mean some of us can't hope Robbie was right! :) Whatever Guy is, he's obviously v handsome PS. Although I didn't intend to cause offence to anyone with my posts, I'm somewhat offended myself that idea of thinking someone is gay is something they ought to feel ashamed off or wrong. I thought we were all past that crap by now - clearly I was wrong! :(

LOL, someone "gets" it. In the UK a guy into all those things is known as "metro". It doesn't necessarily equate to being gay. Ironically now, in the UK a metro is more likely to be straight than gay because the guys preening and into hair products are how gay guys used to behave, whilst all the gay guys have let themselves go in an attempt to be butch! Confusing world, isn't it?

No, it was tongue in cheek thread! Not meant to cause offense or be taken seriously... just a bit of fun. No of course Guy doesn't like to dress in drag and I'm sure he isn't gay either for that matter. Occassionally though he does have a "camp" look on his face.. or poses that way. I'm not the only one who thinks this way on here either, btw so I think Carla and Chavi are in for a suprise... PS I'm a big fan of Guy's so no offence is meant by this thread.

I don't like to comment on foreign elections, but like Chris I do feel strongly about this issue. Unfortunately one of the things the Republicans have done to America is to rule by fear these last 8 years through mis-information. The Democratic party is absolutely not a Socialst party in anyone's eyes other than an extreme right-winger. They are not acively champoining wealth re-distribution or nationalisation (we'll leave that to the incompetent Republicans whose greed/ deregulation caused the worst banking crisis since 1914). In fact, our own right wing party in the Uk is now considered to be much to the left of your Democratic party, and no one here in the UK would consider the Conservatives a Socialist Party. In fact - unless you are earming over $250,000 a year, you're highly likely to be better off under Obama than McCain, who only seems concerned - like his predecessor with the top 1% of the US population. PS. Barack Obama isn't a terrorist because his surname rhymes with Osama. :)

Yes, thank goodness Chris is standing up and being counted (or not as non US citizen :) ) on this one. I've been 100% with him on this one for years. Unfortunately, I think the idea of a famous foreigner telling Americans how to vote in their elections often tends to produce the opposite effect to the one you want. I'd be interested to see who Martin comes out in favour of in the forthcoming UK General Election. The Lib dems would be the obvious choice: I don't see how Martin could support either of the other two parties given the Iraq War, his views on liberty and general liberal views. Political commentators have noted that these days, the Conservative Party in the UK is actually to the left of the US Democrats when you actually scruntinise their policies, but I'm sure Chris Martin isn't going to suddenly do the song to David Cameron's next election video!

A Gospel version would sound great! I can just see the ironic video now too, with religous imagery and Chris banging away on the tambourine!

Perhaps, but Chris Martin has aged so well, hasn't he? I prefer him as a confident, slightly beefed up 30-something to the innocent, unsure of himself student. He's more attractive than ever, IMO.

Chris is an extremely bright, thoguhtful and deep person, and like all highly intelligent people he worries too much. I guess it's in his nature recentlly. If only we could tell him how much his music is loved..

I have a theory that Coldplay's songs are some of the most sensitive modern songs around, and these are in turn reflected by its fanbase who generally are very thoughtful and deep people. Didn't Chris Martin himself say something to that effect once?
