Gwyneth pulls out of screening 15 minutes ago Gwyneth Paltrow has been forced to pull out of a special screening of her film Two Lovers due to illness, organisers said. The actress was due to attend the screening in west London on Wednesday night (March 4), but has been advised not to travel to the UK as she is unwell. Gwyneth plays the volatile neighbour of a troubled young man played by Joaquin Phoenix, who moves into his parents' Brooklyn apartment following a suicide attempt. Martin Senior rocks on for sober junior COLDPLAY lead singer Chris Martin celebrated his 32nd birthday at inner-city hot spots on Monday night. But so much for the hard-living rock'n'roll lifestyle. The British rock star reportedly left nightclub The Gin Palace before midnight "sober, on foot and heading back to his hotel". It was Martin's father who was was the last man standing, having stayed on at the upmarket bar after his famous son left. "My dad is more of a rock star than me," Martin said yesterday. "He embraces the lifestyle." The low-key celebrations started at top tapas CBD restaurant MoVida, where Martin booked a table for four. The Coldplay crooner was accompanied by his manager, father and one other guest, and arrived around 7pm. But it wasn't the champagne-soaked dinner one might expect from your average rock god. Instead, Martin was seen sinking a couple of quiet beers with his dad and talking with guests in the restaurant. "He was a lovely bloke, he had time for everyone," a MoVida patron said. "He said he was loving the restaurant, having a good time in Melbourne and that he was celebrating his birthday." The small entourage later moved to The Gin Palace, where they had "a quiet sitdown" over cocktails. The father of two did nothing to dispel his reportedly quiet lifestyle with actor wife Gwyneth Paltrow when he left the party early, while his dad stayed out until 2am. "They were having a little party all night and sitting around having a few drinks," a manager at the bar said. The musical pair, who dated in 2001, have rekindled their friendship while working on Imbruglia's new album in London. Coldplay's Australian tour starts on Friday in Perth before hitting Melbourne next week. Insiders say Imbruglia is hitching a ride on the first leg of the tour. Gossips are already using the reunited friendship as the latest ammunition about Martin's marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow. Paltrow has been absent for most of Coldplay's current world tour. A US act who worked with Martin and Imbruglia last month said the Australian singer was even friendly with Martin and Paltrow's children, Apple and Moses.
