Wow - you had an excellent view! I like the the shot of Will playing the kettle drums - he's very intense in that picture. You have some great pictures of the band in front of the backdrop, too. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! It was funny watching this video after reading the recent interview with Jonny where he talks about how he has a real hard time singing the backing vocals in DAAHF and playing guitar at the same time because of the two different time signatures. You can clearly see that Jonny sticks to playing the guitar and leaves the vocals to Will, Guy and Chris.

So, how was it?

Radiohead was supposed to play the Chicago Theater last night, but they called it off so that Thom Yorke can get better before tonight's Lollapalooza show. I work in downtown Chicago, so I did my daily run around the festival grounds and the stage that they're going to perform at tonight was already starting to fill up around 1:00 p.m. They sold out all 75,000 tickets for today. I was hoping to catch a live stream of the show, but they're only showing The Raconteurs.

TGIF! My belated take ... the Hype video has beautiful colors and lighting ... it even seems like certain frames of the video appear to have a painting like quality (can't think of a word to describe it); but, overall, the video does remind me of the Apple commercial. The Corbijn video is hilarious, a bit dark and, yes, beautiful, as many here have already described ... and the final frames of Jonny, Guy and Will "oohing" at the end are priceless.

Unfortunately, I now have to ditch work to make it home in time for an appointment with a contractor :embarassed: . Enjoy the rest of the interview ...

You're welcome! As soon as I got to the UC, I discovered that my camera was stuck in a semi-frozen mode; so, I wasn't able to zoom in or pan out as I normally can. We were seated up in the 1st row of Section 334, which gave us a great view of the band during Chinese Sleep Chant. I just wish those pics would've turned out better.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their own experiences from the 7/23/08 Chicago concert (especially Angie and Mel's amazing story of meeting Jonny & Guy -- you are some lucky girls!)

I agree with you completely! I was at the 7/23 show with my daughter and we sat up in Section 334 with the lamest people. I was shocked at how many people up there sat on their behinds when the band first came out and the lack of unfamiliarity with not only the new material, but songs like Politik, Scientist, etc. (I, too, was hoping to hear A Rush of Blood to the Head ).
