They do this cover for the movie 'Velvet Goldmine', they did a little cameo in it and sang this song from T-Rex. I've always love them, great energy in their music. Hi partner!!! ^^ I'm glad (and kinda relief XD) you like the mix! I love a lot of differents stuff so I tried to get that through the mix and I'm glad it shows. I also pay attention to the sequencing, glad again that this part works on you! So now the tracklist *drumroll* It's '20th century boys', which is a T-Rex song but here it's sing by the band PLACEBO. This one is called 'All flowers in time bends towards the sun'. The singers are Elizabeth Fraser (from the band Cocteau Twins) and the other one, the male is my music god Jeff Buckley. Jeff wrotes this song for Elizabeth when he was dating her and they sang this for fun but it was never really recorded properly...I love this song cause it's just the spurs of the moment between two lovers, and it transpired in their gigling...so sweet. If you like it (and if you don't know him), check out Jeff's work, it's just...well...not from this earth. This man was pure genius. You're right, it's them. It's "Have a nice day". This is called "Miss Shanghai" by the band Shanghai restoration project. I discover this on myspace. The strings are made from a shamisen, a japanese instrument, not a banjo ^^ All good. She's known for her piano ballads and powerfull imaged lyrics. Kinda feminine version of Jeff Buckley but with a piano. She's very famous in the US (not to much in my country :/)... Check out her work, she's quite a personna! XD It's fun you thought it was an oldie cause it's 'Electric feel' by MGMT. New band, they explosed this year with their album 'oracular spectacular'... I'm not fond of all of their tracks but this one is my favorite ^^ This one is called 'Femiliarise' from a nigerian artist called Keziah Jones. He lives between Paris and New York and he invents a style called 'Blue funk'. You may not like this one but check his work on youtube, he's terrific on stage and he's an amazing guitar/bass player. He does a lot of 'tapping'. His music is very funky and groovy. No it's not a cover! It's the original ^^ The song is 'New york groove' by KISS. I'm not a Kiss fan but I just love this song! This one is from the scottish (hence this accent XD) soul singer Paolo Nutini. The song is called 'January'. He's only 20 but his voice sounds muuuch older XD! It's 'Pumkin soup' by Kate Nash. A british singer, but I prefer her rather than Lily Allen. You make me laugh with this one....It's indeed 'Queen-like' cause it's QUEEN!!! XD And the song is 'I want it all'. My favorite band after Coldplay...So inventiv and just classic! It's a short piano piece by Stravinsky. It's 1st Movement Russian Dance 6 of Petroushka ^^ It's ukulele and it's called 'Freaky new child ' by the french singer Julien Doré. He won the french 'idol' two years ago and he's quite different from what you can hear on radio right now. This debat is really interesting..! To me 'pop' doesn't necessarily mean 'crapy music for masses'...Pop music (to me) define more 'lively' music whose sound 'bursts' like champagne's bubbles...(I don't know if you see what I mean). But it doesn't always mean that it's lyrically or musically poor... Michael Jackson is (was? XD) the king of pop and I don't think anyone could objectivly say that he was not creativ...Same goes for Madonna and Mika today is one of many pop artists but, like him or not, he writes his own lyrics/music and also is creativ musically speaking... The Beatles have done pop songs...who can say they're crap? XD But I guess that to majority, pop means boys band and stuff... As to 'alternativ', again, it's just an adjectiv you add to say it's not totally: rock, pop, hard rock etc.... and is that sense, Coldplay is an alternativ band cause they're not totally rock, or pop or whatever... I understand why some of you have the feeling that they're becoming 'pop' but it's just because their music sounds more 'lively' ... But it's just a feeling on a few tracks and therefore, you can't categorize them as 'pop' artist cause they're a little bit of everything! (look at the artists they worship and take their influences...very diverse!) So to sum up: Coldplay style is 'Coldplay'...XD Like someone saif, it's unique.

I like the single, it's spinning on the radio for a few weeks in here now...^^ But I *think* MGMT is better and will last longer...just a feeling. But I found the music video visually colorfull and quite funny!

+1 That's also why their music is often called 'alternativ rock' cause it's a little mix of everything...and that's why I love them so much, every song is a new universe ^^

Coldplay was THE british act this year, they exploded every records and they win nothing... :thinking: Well, as you said, postcards was the best recogning ever! And we will show our love during the summer tour!!

I agree with Lore and Zemy....This project was special because it was spontaneous and related to the song but doing something every year is really 'pushy'...Debs and co gave us already a LOT...!! As for a 2009 project: come on there is Wembley!!!
