Yes and yes. I think she has heard the song.

Sounds about right.

Yup, there might be one of those in the new song. Also, for the additional background voice (unsure if it's a collaboration) - if I am not wrong, I heard a familiar pop star.

Sounds somewhat accurate! Hint: the lyrics has an antonym of an X&Y track.

Might not be Rihanna.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
The song I heard during the video shoot wasn't anything like green eyes or crest of waves.

Thanks guys for suggesting Mediafire. While everyone is waiting for the new single to come out and confirmation on Glastonbury line up, you can watch this video I made for Coldplay's journey (covered till MX) few years ago (Coldplay - From Laurel Tree to Glastonbury): http://www.mediafire.com/watch/dwea7nb5zysydha/Coldplay_Movie.avi Do let me know what you think of it!

Blocked at both the places (and obviously YouTube). Any other suggestions?

Ugh - do you know where I can upload this so that people can view this without it getting banned?

Couldn't hear in that much detail.

Sorry, I meant video recording.

Very faint background vocals (like Another's Arm backtrack, could have been just for some effect). Coldplay - release the single already! I want to talk about it!

Today is Dusshera in India. Let's see if we hear something. I do believe in Clayton's news. I think she might have given her vocals for the new album. On that note, another quick hint: look out for female background vocals in the new single (recorded in India). Not sure if it was Clayton and not sure if it was a collaboration - sounded very low key like Another's Arm.

STOP (song on the album? lyrical reference?) All speculation and guesses, of course.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Although I had originally guestimated Dusshera it now seems fitting to release the video then

Yes, the rug seems Indian. The pattern is common here - in fact, I have a similar patterned bed sheet.

Also, I've been following the band closely for more than a decade now (like a lot of people here) and I understand where the “Oldplayers" come from. But I doubt that Coldplay will go back to their old sounds - at least no Parachutes 2.0 for sure. But I'd definitely want them to experiment more with their sounds and lyrics - get a bit out of their comfort zone like they did in Viva. I hope the new album is along those lines even if the new single might not be. P.S. I am not disappointed or anything before people start hating the new song before listening to it, in fact I liked what I heard.

In all honesty, in my opinion Coldplay were at their creative best at Viva La Vida and AROBTH. In the former, they were trying so many new things + their lyrics moved beyond interpersonal relationships and AROBTH is a great rock album. It's true that MX grew on me and is tied no 3 with Parachutes and now I've accepted band's new sound. If that's the case with any of you guys, you'd like the new single, dance to it and it should become a hit.

Umm wow - didn't want to squash people's hopes or anything. I think someone rightly mentioned that if closest I could think of the song was miracles doesn't mean that it's super similar. In fact, I thought the single (I might know what it's called actually) was better than miracles. It was a solid pop rock song with bass drops + one surprise element (can't confirm that right now). It is nothing like amazing day. And guys, relax - as Jonny said it might come soon.
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I would say it was more pop than rock. Jonny didn't seem to dominate the entire song and had fillers in between (and one prominent part? - unsure of this) I would say more miracles than MX or GS

The person shared the chorus with me - which..umm.. sounds like Coldplay and then I put it on my mental map (Sherlock!) of the music I heard - I remembered Chris loudly singing somewhat similar during the shoot, so I'm convinced that the person is correct. I don't think the person had the chance to listen to all of it but I didn't get the chance to ask whether they liked it (I am predicting they would say yes cos they aren't super critical of band's new music)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Hopefully the song and video is out soon so that I can discuss more about my experience - the person I talked to also knew a bit about the lyrics which surprised me cos I didn't hear them properly but he/she knew the chorus.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Hi guys, I talked to the person and they basically gave me a yellow light. I can't speak in super detail about the song and definitely not in detail about the contents of the music video . I'm really sorry but I want to honor him/her. I can though tell you what it "sounds like" and little bit of elements that are involved in the song (apologies if you know most of it) - I thought it was an upbeat song with soaring chorus part (at least musically) and piano hooks. The drums in the song reminded me of their recent albums i.e. more mechanical drums than older era. All in all, I thought it was a solid pop rock song that you can dance to and should well on charts. Really sorry if you got your hopes up about the song and music video details after what I said before.
