The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
oh, come on, I think Muse is more popular in the states than we think, besides, if there wasn't a fan base, they wouldn't be touring here. Also, I've been doing my best lately to spread my muse fanaticism to my friends....for some reason they're not really going with it....:P

Random Coldplay thoughts...
So I was just reading that story about how Chris was in a bar in Auckland making cocktails, and I've decided that I would die if Chris Martin made me a cocktail :D

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
argh, I want to see them live so badII I'm so obsessed with watching live videos on youtube, but I'm sure that doesn't even begin to compare to actually being there. Do you thin they'll do a big US tour. I feel like they've probably built up enough of a fan base here to do arena shows....but I don't know, I guess we'll find out.

I'm going to have to go with "We Never Change" as being the most meaningful for me. Although it's not exactly positive or hopeful, I could relate to it's message of loneliness/depression as an angsty teenager. In fact, as an angsty teenager, Coldplay was probably my best friend.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
yeah, I suppose that's true. It certainly would be listed on the CD sleeve. Too bad, that would have been cool. I guess i need to go yell at the person that told me that, haha! :)

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Hey guys, as an avid Coldplay and Muse fan, I have a question. Someone told me that Matt helped Coldplay make the song Politik. Does anyone know if this is true? I asked the oracle, but the chances of him/her responding are slim to none, so I thought i would ask here. :)

Guess the song!
Spies...? I think. Hah, I asked the oracle if that song was about how CCTV is everywhere in the UK...not surprisingly he didn't answer...haha. "...going nowhere fast..."

Song Meaning
I've always taken the "now my feet won't touch the ground" line (in this song and the many other songs it's mentioned in) as either letting go of inhibitions and taking a risk, or losing control/worrying about things one can't control. I think the first two times it's said in this song it's about losing control, because they can "hear it coming" and the "hear the sirens sound", meaning that there are some upsetting events occurring and they have no control over it. But the last line about "gravity release me and don't ever hold me down" I think "gravity" is inhibitions/worrying about things you have no control over and they don't want to be held down by it. I don't know if that makes any sense, and maybe I have an overly optimistic view, but that's the sense I get when I listen to it.

Heh, I like this one, it's as if he's saying "I'm scooting over so you can join me on this tiny chair at the end of this narrow hallway" :laugh3:

Gah! They ALMOST Did It!
Ha, there hasn't been any discussion about this song in a while, so I'll start it up again. I think this is a beautiful, passionate and thoughtful song, but I do feel like there should be more. I think it would be awesome with more lyrics at the end. Whenever I listen to it, I can feel more lyrics at the end, and then they aren't there..... But this is Coldplay we're talking about, so I guess they know what they're doing....
