It's official, Coldplay are for gays!
Well the black crowes are voted the worst band of all time in more votes than any other in the last 10 years. But they must all be straight! Non coldplay fans should be banned from a coldplay forum. Where are the moderator bullocks?!

Guitarist Joe Satriani sues Coldplay for plagiarism
Hey all, I just came across this last night! I posted in the Releases = Viva thread, but I'll put it here too. This song your about to play with the link below was recorded 2 years prior to Joe's song. And remember, for the whole 10 minutes or so of Joes Song, only 30 seconds or so are similar sounding to Viva la Vida. This song your about to click on completely destroys the Satriani case. I have great respect for Joe's music, and any musician who can make it on instrumentals alone. But I am completely disgusted and dumbfounded at the complete morons gracing the youtube comments / tmz comments / etc, who attack coldplay on the minute as a lightweight, boy band, fufu, etc act. Coldplay is reliably still one of the greatest bands in existence, and I personally don't need them to be everyones favorite, just enough for the nearby arena to fill up for a night every couple years. Haters be damned. The song is by latin group, Enanitos Verdes Enjoy the link, and be prepared for fun at around :35 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH4gaPHs9Hc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH4gaPHs9Hc[/ame] Now why does this not have 1 million views? Get the word out.

another alleged plagiarism in viva la vida
Not a good day for Music. Although I am a tremendous coldplay fan, this kind of video never looks good. This kind of lawsuit is not going to help the band. This is bad for music. When creating a song from scratch, you are "led" from one chord or note to the other. After being "led" around a few times, you complete a progression. These progressions either sound good to the creator or they don't. The reason coldplay is where they are today, a monstrous success, is because they take the same progression as 10,000 of their contemporaries, and simply make the most out of it. So yes, a small portion of the Satriani clip sounds like VLV, and that doesn't look (or sound) good, it is good to know that during the court case I guarantee the coldplay defense will be playing this clip for the judge to hear. This from a latin band, Enanitos Verdes, with this song circa 2002. 2 years previous to Satriani. ENJOY - the fun starts at around :35 in.:laugh3::laugh3::shocked2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH4gaPHs9Hc

Gah! They ALMOST Did It!
This is equivalent to easy to please, or see you soon. Not a full fledged radio ready song. But a masterwork nonetheless. I say any CP fan since parachutes that doesn't really like this song, is just plain spoiled.

I humbly submit to your expert opinion
Well there is no better place to request a critical review for my first remix (a cover) than this particular forum, no? For the record, (and the purists) I did not sing this myself out of disrespect, but only because they simply don't release acapellas, and I didn't just want to make a "drum beat over the top of" remix. There are like 50 of them out there now. I wanted to bring something original, and I hope you enjoy it. The real fun starts at around 3:15. :) And disregard the banners about high quality audio, it's embedded in good quality. Thanks, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odwodPF_WPc] [/ame]

I just started to learn to read music a few days ago...
something i didn't think of... a piano teacher hellbent on teaching nothing but coldplay & radiohead, and who shouts at you like Gordon Ramsay when you hit a wrong note, "You Donkey!"

I can relate to this statement and at the same time I also relate to those that would feel contrary to this. I think what DAK is saying is that while they WERE TAKING LESSONS, they should have given the lessons the same work ethic as the favorite song on the radio, but that bach from the suzuki book is not as fun or rewarding as say, uh.... clocks. Well that's just obvious, isn't it. No seriously, the theory, the structure, the scales, the learning of patterns that seem unnatural and take hours to get right. Well it is true, I initially hated lessons and wound up breaking away and just playing by ear what i wanted to. I wound up getting serious and going back to lessons years later, because there is only so much you can do on your own. If you aren't taking lessons, then that's completely different. Then you are going to be mostly playing things you want to learn. Now I know Chris has a vocal coach/tutor, because of the album credits, but does anyone know if he is still taking piano lessons? If I had double digit millions and a wee bit of spare time during the year, I know I would be. :)

Glass of Water - Looking for a personal savior...
LH D RH A D F# LH A RH E A C# LH G RH D G B Alternates a bit, but basically L R R R R L R R R R Left on beat Right off beat. You are familiar with counting out 1 2 3 4 - 1 2 3 4 for basic timing, right? This offbeat is easy, just think of an "and" in between each number. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and. Now get that rhythm going in your head. The RH notes hit on every "and" The LH note hits every 1 count. Now once you get comfortable with that rhythm of play, just go back and listen again. He subtlety alternates and plays more left note hits than just the 1. (1,3,4 for example) But once you get that rhythm down, just mix it up and it will sound good.

I agree with Trouble for the beginner, but I would also add See You Soon (definitely not the key of c, but once you get used to the C#minor (Key of E) -let me know if you can't find the sheet music, or figure this one out by ear.) I also have to say Prospekts March is pretty damn easy on piano, really. These would be the 3 I would recommend to the aspiring player. Let us know if we can help. Are you singing these, as well?

Prospekt's March, Peteystyle!
Thanks. By ear. I wrote the chords down on the youtube page, and then after actually listening to the disk I realized I missed a change. (right after "got the gun" drifts from E major to E minor diminished fifth - E G Bb) Also in the part i all "verse b" there is a drift up to the G chord from the F# minor. I didn't use the guitar so i took the liberty of drifting down to the G. Song is key of Bmin/D except for the E chords verse a Bb to G - repeat 3x E to G verse b G to Bb - repeat 3x E to G Middle Bit D to Bb to G to E D to Bb to G to E to G End A chord with A bass / C# bass / F# bass / G

Prospekt's March, Peteystyle!
Hope you enjoy my 3am, just heard one of the great songs, hadn't bought the album yet, tribute. [ame= ] [/ame] And for the record, the little sign for the first 20 seconds is just there to cover up the video errors i had from a bad DVD in the camcorder.

Politik Piano Sheet Music
The way I do it is. LH C E G Bb RH C E G Bb 16 times LH C F Ab RH C F Ab Bb 12 times LH C F Ab RH C D Ab Bb 4 times Then for the verse just drop the left hand. This to me is not easy, as if you don't have a band backing you up, trying to add a bass element with the left hand and make it sound good is tough.
- oops, wrong group

Proud of it!
