  1. Yes the theft of the purse was annoying. I chased after the culprit, but couldn't catch him as he was too quick. We also went to the Acropolis and Hadrian's Gate in Athens, plus the Roman Forum and the Collosium in Rome.
  2. We have done a lot on our trip. We visited places like museums, the Vatican, the Versaillies, Notre Dame, Naples, Pompei. My mum had her purse stolen from her handbag while we were in a shop in Athens and her credit card was in the purse at the time. Luckily she was able to contact the bank and get the credit card cancelled.
  3. Hi all. I'm back home now.
  4. I do like this site. We're back in London till the end of next week. And we will again be back here after we've been to Athens and Rome.
  5. Thanks guys. I'm coming on here even though I'm away.
  6. We had to have our bags with us in the hotel dining room as our hotel room didn't have a safe.
  7. We suspected that one of the restaurant staff took my bag as they were the only other people in there around that time. There is a Disneyland in Paris too, but we didn't go to theirs.
  8. I thought I would post an update. In Hong Kong, we went to Disneyland and spent time round a market. London: We went on a tour of the city. Paris: We went on the open top bus tour of the area. We also visited the Notre Dame and the Versailies. Plus we went on a tour of Paris by night. We had some bad luck last Friday. We were in the hotel dining room that morning and our table was next to a shelf. My backpack was on that shelf and the bag was stolen. It had contained cash, passport, phone, camera and glasses. The police were contacted and so was the travel insurance company. That day was spent getting me some new glasses and a new passport. I won't need to replace my phone as I have the one I bought not so long ago, but when we're back in New Zealand in a few weeks, I will need to buy a new sim card, then get my number and credit transferred onto it. I will get a new camera at Christmas time.
  9. We sure will have a good time. We have to be up at 2.30am on Monday morning, off to Wellington airport at 3.45am and we will be on the 6am flight to Australia.
  10. Thanks guys. This will be the 2nd time I'll be away for 6 weeks. I'm certain I will get homesick like I did the last time.
  11. As from next Monday, I will be offline for 6 weeks because we're going overseas from the 11th of April till the 21st of May. We have a 2 hour transit stop in Australia, then it's onto Hong Kong for 2 nights, London for 3 days, Paris for 3 days, back to London for 10 days, Athens for 3 days, Rome for 4 days, back to England for another 9 days. Coming home, we have another night in Hong Kong and another two hour transit stop in Australia. If I come online while we're away, it will be while we're staying with family in England. And I may also find internet cafes.
  12. I also think Casey was sticking up for himself and that he had the right to do so. Good on him and hopefully the bully has learnt to leave him alone.
  13. http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/christchurch-quake-memorial-service-happened-4071417 This was a beautiful service. It was shown at the local funeral home today.
  14. Yes he is coming to attend a memorial in Christchurch. He's also going to be visiting Greymouth where the Pike River mine disaster happened.
  15. It was recently said that a 5 week old baby and her mother were two of the bodies found.
  16. Jason Gunn's wife had an eerie preminition of the earthquake happening.
  17. Did anyone from here take part in the 2 minutes silence? My thoughts go out to those of you who are from Christchurch or have friends and family there.
  18. Former Shortland Street and Outrageous Fortune star Robyn Malcolm's mother is one of the survivors of last week's earthquake.
  19. Earlier today the death toll reached 149. It's probably risen again since then. Also today the first of the funerals was held. It was the funeral for one of the two babies.
  20. In New Zealand there's going to be 2 minutes silence for Christchurch at 12.51pm on Tuesday 1st March.
  21. The death toll has risen to 145 and it's expected to rise further. No live rescues today.
  22. Sorry about that. The one I was looking at just before says 103. It could be 113 now. Officials in New Zealand have released the first names of the 103 confirmed victims of Tuesday's earthquake in the city of Christchurch. I've copied and pasted this from the article.
  23. I've just had a look at the article via that link. The article says 103 victims confirmed, I noticed you wrote 113.
