  1. "Look at the stars" I've just spent nearly four months in the Maldives, and during my time there, my husband and I visited one of his old friends on Addhoo island. One night we all went for a drive, following my husband's friend's directions. We ended up at the side of a lake (or was it a lagoon?) where we couldn't see much apart from trees and bushes and I was slightly under-whelmed. However, when I looked up at the dark sky, I saw a clear patch between the clouds. I honestly came out with the first line of Yellow: Look at the stars! I was completely blown away, because I've never in my whole life seen so many stars. It looked as though someone had thrown glitter into the air! I thought to myself that it must have been such a sight which inspired Chris to write the song, and I felt a great connection with him ( a little over-dramatic, I know!)
  2. I've never dreamt about him before - I'm still a bit shocked at the randomness of it.
  3. I feel really silly talking about my dream - can we forget about it... please?
  4. This is why I woke up smiling this morning... I was at a Coldplay concert, sitting at a table by the stage. Chris was singing and dancing a little way from me, then he came over to me and whilst I was looking at him I realised he was extending his hand to me. I took it and he just held it, then... then... he leaned forward and kissed me :o Not just a peck, but a lingering kiss, and then... Then I woke up with the biggest grin on my face :D Just the thing to set me up for the day!
  5. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  6. And so speaks a true 'Israeli' !!! Liars, thieves and murderers through and through.
  7. There is only one thing I want to say and I will not enter into an argument, so don't bother to reply. It is NOT "Israel" - it is PALESTINE!!!
  8. Daughter-in-law - wardrobe girl at Etihad :curtain:Hi, my name is Ruqayya. I come on here every day, but don't post as I never have anything exciting to say... until now! Well, my son's partner, Deborah, is often asked to work on the wardrobe at concerts in Manchester and has 'done' for many top stars. She was asked to work at the Coldplay concert, which she agreed to. When she told me I was so excited! Anyway, this is what she told me. Apparently, she said WOW a lot, starting with the arrival of the band in a helicopter after having just performed at Wembley. So then she steamed and ironed jackets and t-shirts and very little else. She said she just wandered around looking for something to do. She said the band was very undemanding (as we know, they are very modest in their requirements), and in the end she was told to go and enjoy the show. Boy, did she enjoy it! Although she quite liked Coldplay, she was far from being a hard-core fan, but she was absolutely blown away by everything. She loved the 'walking man' best of all, I think. She also loved the wrist-bands, and she was talking about them backstage and asking how they worked, when Gwyneth turned to her and said "they're remote controlled"... !!! She also saw Chris, who said "Hello, how are you?" Again... !!! I asked Deborah whether he looked very tall, and she said yes but he was just shuffling along (lol). She had heard the band jamming in their dressing room before the show started, and she said that they seemed quite shy when she saw them walking in the corridor on their return to their room. Deborah got me some souvenirs! She gave me a 'local crew' t-shirt - bright orange, an access pass on a neck-thingy, and a set list! I'm thrilled to bits! I had been to the Manchester concert of the Viva tour, but I haven't managed to get to any of the MX concerts. However, this was a close next-best thing! I went to visit Deborah this weekend and had a great time talking about the concert and the band (and especially Chris!). My family get a little fed-up of me constantly talking about Coldplay (and Chris!), but this gave me the perfect opportunity to go on and on and on...
  9. Mwahahahahahahahaha!!! Absolute crap!!! What a load of wannabes. They are obviously trying very hard to be like Coldplay - keep trying, but you'll never get there! As for the singer trying to move like Chris, well I've never seen anyone NOT move like Chris as much as this nobody. Thanks for the warning, Edward, but I don't think Coldplay (or any other band) have anything to worry about. :)
  10. Nah, not having that. "Over-exaggerated a bit"??? Made-up a lot, I'd say. Anyway, I'm not arguing any more, and should not have allowed myself to get dragged in. I came to make a point in defence of Coldplay. I will just say to Lutzno - You need to learn how to debate without making personal and insulting remarks to those you disagree with. It is not funny or clever, just silly.
  11. Now you're just putting words into my mouth - I never mentioned anything like "Jews wanting to take over the world"!
  12. Blueberry girl - The Palestinians HAD a homeland - they just want it back. Osaka Sun - enough of telling me what I can or cannot say. You'll be saying that anti-Zionism = anti-semitism next, which is ironic when you realise that the Palestinians are more semitic than the settlers who migrated from Europe and the US.
  13. Zionist claptrap made up of lies and the distortion of history. Like the man who murdered his parents and pleaded for clemency on the grounds that he was an orphan. People are not swallowing this any more. FREE FREE PALESTINE!!!
  14. From who? Coldplay didn't even release THIS song, they merely endorsed the song on Twitter. As far as I know, they haven't said anything about the Palestinians or the Israelis.
  15. Thanks, Zj23! I was expecting to get slammed for what I said, but that doesn't matter, anyway. I have supported the Palestinian cause for 30 years, ever since I first became aware of the situation, and it doesn't always win you friends. It could be worse, it could be my sons being shot at, my daughters being stoned by adults as they are walking with their classmates. It could be my home being bull-dozed to make way for settlers' houses, my electricity and water being cut off whilst settlers enjoy their swimming pools. Sorry, I do go on a bit, but this is what happens when you get involved in things that others know little or nothing about, and yet others who care even less.
  16. Rainy day, you are American, and because of this I forgive your complete and utter mis-education. You are fed lies and propaganda by a government which cannot speak its mind for fear of the back-lash from the Zionist lobby - which does exist at the very highest level. Palestinian children throw stones and are met with bullets. Palestinians throw home-made 'rockets' and are met with drones, war planes, tanks and guns. Children as young as 9 are pulled from their beds in the middle of the night and detained, tortured and if they refuse to sign 'confessions' (written in Hebrew) they are detained until they do. Then, they are taken to court and tried as adults and imprisoned and fined. Not exactly an equal playing field, is it? Compare the number of Israeli deaths with the number of Palestinians - the difference will amaze you. But don't take my word for it, look it up, it's all there to see in graphic detail. But, you know, Coldplay have not said anything about this. All they have done is give props to a song which expresses the Palestinian wish for freedom, end of. They do not deserve the flak they are receiving.
  17. Hello all. You don't know me, just as I don't know you. I don't post, but I visit this site every day and enjoy reading the things most of you have to say. One thing I do know about is the Palestinian struggle for survival, because I take the time to find out and keep updated about it. I'm certainly not going to lecture anyone here, but what I will do is plead with you to find out just what is happening. There is an abundance of information available, although it is not pleasant (to put it mildly). Quite simply, Coldplay's support for this new song is not 'political', it is humanitarian. Surely, this is one of the things we love Coldplay for. Having said that, I really have no problem with anyone, be they celebrities or otherwise, taking an interest in, and even speaking about, politics. They are people too. It is too easy (perhaps even a little lazy) just to write off Coldplay as taking sides. We like to think we know all about them as individuals and as a group, but we don't. We don't know their innermost thoughts and feelings, and we don't know what they do in their private lives. It is possible that at least some of them follow current events and keep themselves informed of what is happening in other countries. We do know that they are all very caring people, and would be very careful about what they say in public. I am proud to be a fan of such a group, and I am proud that they have supported this song, particularly as it is for a charity which will help to alleviate the deprivation and suffering that the Palestinians endure every single day of their lives. Peace and one love, Ruqayya.
  18. Is that directed at me, because if you look it up, I have used the correct spelling (though there is also an alternative spelling). At least I don't feel the need to use foul language to make a point.
  19. Congratulations - you are an ignoramous of the first order.
  20. Hi, everyone. If I may, I'd like to suggest that he's saying "Home, the best place". At least, that what it sounds like to me, though of course I could be wrong.
  21. I can be taken off the list, as I got a copy in Manchester - woohoo:happy2:
  22. Hi, Jizo - MEEEEEEEEEEEE!! I'm excited, and I've just received my tickets, too!!! :D  Only one 'downer', I got 2 instead of the 3 I paid for. Maybe the other one will come during the week.
  23. So glad to meet some fellow Yorkies. I 've been around a while now but never got into a real conversation because I've hardly posted anything, and I've mostly been looking at the gorgeous Chris thread. Thanks for accepting me into the fold.:)
