  1. And looking very "buff" in the arms and upper torso too! :flutterby: :crown: :flutterby: :escaping3:
  2. Thanks Charlie! The entire process is so much more complex than I had realized - so many factors come in to play!
  3. Thanks, Pink. I'm doing that too. Just thought that among all the fans here, there might be some people who had an overview of the industry and could educate us.
  4. Focus, folks In this thread, I want to hear about the recording industry's processes and not about what you want or expect from LP5 and when, for which there is another thread. Not too many people have all the info I've asked about. I'm hoping to learn something I don't already know by drawing on the knowledge of those who do. (Ian! You know what a Gantt chart is! As a former Project Manager, I worked with many of them. That's why the process interests me. And thanks for suggesting that I start this new thread here.)
  5. umm? You like his legs and umm, Dianne?
  6. Great! Where? Would you mind directing me to it?
  7. What we know, and have been speculating and making wishes about concerning LP5 is, naturally, the creative process involved and the music's production. How do these guys do it? What will it sound like? Wonderfully exciting stuff for a fan like me. But what I'm interested in learning about at the moment is the nuts and bolts and the especially the timing required in rolling out an album once the artist, producer and guest artists are finished in the studio. Exactly how does the recording industry get from the studio stage to the touring stage. So here are some questions along these lines, for discussion and my enlightenment: 1. At what point does a visual concept (the logos, albumn art, website, video themes etc.) get decided? 2. When is the release date decided? When is it announed? How far in advance of the release date is the manufacture of LP's and CD's arranged and done? 3. When is it decided that a tour will happen, and what it will be like? How are cities and venues chosen? Why in that order? When are suppporting artists booked? 4. At what point does video production enter the planning? 5. How and when are interviews and guest spots on radio and TV in suppport of the album and tour planned? 6. In all these processes, the band is clearly involved, but beyond them, who does what? What is the role of the band's Manager, the record company? In other industires, I know, Project Managers have complex charts that detail all the above and much more. There are unnumerable tasks involved, but I'm mostly interested in the timing and approximate order of them in the music industry. Also, if you know of any literature or other media that might educate me, please let me know.
  8. LP5 - What's in a plan? This entry has been moved to the Coldplay section as a new thread. IMO Sorry folks, but IMO, it does not sound like Chris.
  10. welcome Welcome to the forum, fellow Canadian!
  11. more singing by Will, please So, like everyone else on this thread (I assume), I'm impatiently awaiting the release of album #5 and really hoping that Will's singing voice is featured again! He's the perfect backup singer for Chris's voice, I think, but I love hearing him sing on his own too. And since Eno is mixing and mathicng in new ways, perhpas a duet with Jonny? Seems pretty unlikely, I guess, but they do like to surprise us.
  12. all of it I voted for "solar system". As an artist, I'm aware that everything from one's past, the totality of their experience, goes into every artistic creation. The artist may focus one one aspect of that experience, but it's all there, however subtly, in the final work. Accordingly, the "solar system" (and I'm referring to the *actual* solar system and not the one that R#42 was asked to build) is the only "correct" answer because it encompasses all the rest! Great thread topic, Ian!
  13. I'll bet he never gets wet in Spanish rain! Ole Ole Ole, Ole Ole !

  21. Cobalt's malice I can be slow to recongize malice :mean: - guess I just expect more of people - but now I get it Cobalt, you were taking a personal swipe at me. :disappointed:
  22. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
  23. The Live 2003 DVD I know they were just babies at the time, but I've been watching the Live 2003 DVD and WOW - there are so many shots of Will, especially from Yellow onwards, that I'd love to capture as stills. You can read him like a book, so to speak, by his reactions. I do love this drummer dude!
  24. Ah Marie! I love Will wearing specs! Thanks for that!
