  1. Well not really life long because he can choose to have it done at later stage, its only life long if you have it removed.
  2. Oh and i didnt answer what the role of the foreskin is. It’s first task, during infancy, is to protect the glans from infection by shielding it from bodily waste and other types of exposure. Throughout life, the foreskin is a protective jacket, which guards against trauma and injury. It also keeps the glans soft and moist. All mammals have a foreskin. It also has sexual benefits.
  3. Even if there was no function (which there 100% definately is) it still wouldnt be worth the risk of death. 100 baby boys die each year from this practice. Also there is no way the we would have evolved with a foreskin had it been a problem. There are no proven medical advantages. “...the practice of routine circumcision rests on the absurd premise that the only mammal in creation born in the condition that requires immediate surgical correction is the human male.” Thomas Szasz, M.D.
  4. The Prepuce/foreskin doesnt have a function? Thats a ridiculous thing to say. Its also worth noting that children can die from circumcision. Also your point was that circumcision was good because it lessens the chance of urinary infection unless im mistaken? So you think that its good to remove organs to prevent illness do you not?
  5. Well, that is the same as saying people with lips find it hard to brush their teeth :)
  6. I didnt compare, I just mentioned it. Also your logic is faulty, urinary infections are rare, I guess they should remove kids tonsils and hey, why not remove all their vestigal organs incase they get complications later on in life, like the appendix for example... Its crazy. The foreskin is part of our anatomy and has an important role. If you like being circumcised thats fine but i think people should be given the option. I would be furious if somebody had removed parts of my body without my consent.
  7. Religion, tradition, parents worried about peer pressure, to try to stop masturbation, for "hygienic" purposes. Basically for bullshit reasons. Female genital mutilation is even more barbaric.
  8. It should be illegal unless the person is a consenting adult or the child has a physical issue.
  9. Lol! Come on, admit it, You cant remember can you! :laugh3:
  10. Ok I really want to know what he said that offended you!!!!
  11. The Aubergine song springs to mind
  12. I do agree with this actually. I guess it bothers some people more than others.
  13. Also Jim, Can I ask how you recorded your cover? I struggle to get good quality with my songs. Thanks.
  14. Yes I very much agree, thats one of the reasons I admire him, because he knows what he wants to do and is just getting his head down and actually running the country. Also, incase you are not aware, when he went to Pakistan he spoke of a possible new special relationship, like the one with America but with Pakistan, I thought this was great news. Was this well known in Pakistan?
  15. Lol why cant you explain it!!!!
  16. Yeh Ive seen this exact video before, and yes I concede that a type 3 or 4 civilization would make it more possible, but like you said, I still think its rare that they exist.
  17. Lol easy mistake to make I guess.
  18. Yeh I get that but whats the problem, people dont have to click it, you know what its going to be, It just seems a bit petty thats all.
  19. ^ Yes agreed, we dont know much at all, but we have to base our logic on what we know. EDIT: hmmm why did you edit your post to a fullstop??
  20. I've clearly not said that?! I believe there quite possibly could be? How have you got that from my post? My point was that Life is rare because as far as we know its only happened once, then on top of that, intelligent life has only happened once. Now add in all the other important factors and you have extremely rare. So again, how did you come to the conclusion that extremely rare equals no intelligent life anywhere??
  21. This is something I dont understand, why do non coldplay fans come to this website and then act like the Coldplay fans have made a terrible faux pas by posting....wait for it.....a Coldplay song! Also its not like you were lured into this thread, i mean, the title is a bit of a give away.
  22. Im sorry, maybe im being very dumb but I can't understand you, "that if it is not Chris Martin" ????? That doesnt make sense!?! And what's not worthy of a listen? this guys song?
  23. I saw that Stephen Hawking 3 part series, but Im not so sure, we are rarer than habitable words and if they were more intelligent you would have thought that they would value our uniqueness. Plus they would probably be smart enough to be able to terra form planets, especially as water is abundant throughout the universe.
  24. I would bet my house that life existed elsewhere in the universe, as for intelligent, well that is extremely rare. Out of the billions of species on earth, and including all the extinct ones, we are the only ones with our unique intelligence. Also Im sad to say that I really doubt aliens will ever locate humans. Let me explain why. The Aliens would A. Need to be more intelligent than us which we know is extremely rare. B. Need to be able to locate us which is the equivilent of locating an Atom in the ocean. C. Need to travel near light speed. Even at light speed it would take 2.5 million years to reach our nearest galaxy andromeda so really we are limited and have to ignore all the other possible life in the rest of the cosmos. Also another point is that even if the aliens could locate us they would need to have lifespans of thousands of years or live aboard a ship with generations of aliens, this would mean a vast amount of resource is necessary. That being said, im not ruling out technology that would allow this, such as stasis or wormholes, i just think that is also unlikely.
