  1. I can't stand that! I had a stretch of about 4-5 concerts in a row, where this would happen to me  The worst being at Depeche Mode, this idiot drunk girl dumped 1/2 her beer on my suede Doc sandals, then looked at me like I did something wrong...grrrr.
  2. Just my opinion here, but I truly feel that the setlist for the tour is on point. There are so many factors to consider, especially on a tour of this magnitude. We are obviously on this site because we are hard-core, devoted fans. I am, admittedly, a Coldplay apologist. There is not one song that I dislike, and I'm a huge fan of X&Y!! I LOVE songs that a lot of people don't care for. Some of my absolute favorite CP songs are ones that may not be as well known to casual fans. I can pretty much sing every single lyric to every album. And, while it would awesome if the band catered their shows to fans like us, they have to consider other types of fans or concert attendees. I think they have managed the setlist very well for this tour. **As a side note - when they came through my city on the second leg of VLV tour, on the B-stage, Chris started playing Trouble instead of Hardest Part, which they had not rehearsed at all so he stumbled a few times. I guess since they are doing a lot of multi-night venues, they could have rehearsed a few different songs and interchanged them for varieties sake, but I am not faulting them at all for sticking to their same setlist.
  3. EXACTLY!!!! I was in 120, row C for the Sat. show and me and my bestie were the only die hard fans around. Sure, there were drunk idiots (in their 50's, not 20's mind you) dancing around and being obnoxious. The lady next to me was nice enough, and she was asking me tons of questions. I didn't mind answering them, because she seemed genuine and interested in the show, but she obviously was not a die hard fan. It is just disheartening that real fans don't get to be up close (unless you are willing to fork out for VIP tix or deal with brokers). And, I know it's not really the bands fault, per se, I LOATHE ticketbastard/LN and thier thievery. I think a GA would be a fantastic idea, and I bet it's something they consider next tour. I noticed on this tour, that they have eschewed a little bit of their self-deprecation, and acted like they commanded that stage and crowd :smug:
  4. *kicking and screaming at myself for not buying tickets to Houston shows* I even have family there I could have stayed for free.......#cryingalittleokayalot
  5. that is a given!!! he's had my heart since YELLOW
  6. I forgot to mention also that I have a friend who is a nurse at Children's, and she was blown away on Saturday, because Chris stopped by the hospital without any press or publicity to meet with the patients :dazzled:
  7. Where are your seats for the show?? There is also a ton of confetti, and if you go around the sides of the stage (not the floor - in Dallas, they won't let you on the floor), but in our section near the stage there was a ton of confetti everywhere, I came home with a stack of it:D I am pretty sure that you can find someone willing to give up their band for your friend though!!!
  8. I think the sound must have actually sounded better for the Sat. show, because I sat in one of the upper suites on Friday night, and then for Saturday was in 120, row C which was thisclose to the stage and I felt that everything was better on Saturday. Including the sound! So, maybe whatever glitches there were on Fri were corrected by Sat. I had an amazing time both nights, but Saturday was just magical for me ;-)
  9. Try Divergent by Veronica Roth. You will not be disappointed!! I read Divergent and Insurgent (the second of three books), each twice in the span of a few weeks!
  10. I read all three books in a short amount of time last summer. Just before the movie came out in March, I re-read the entire series very slowly. I loved it the first time and loved it so much more the second time. I will read the books each time a new movies comes out!! There were some things changed, but Suzanne Collins helped with the screenplay, so I was okay for the most part of things taken out. A bit off topic: If you loved the Hunger Games Trilogy and are looking for another series that sucks you in as much, then try Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is AMAZING!!!! I love, love, love the Hunger Games, but I think I might love Divergent (and Insurgent) a smidge bit more!
  11. Yay!!! I was 30 weeks pregnant on the X&Y tour in '06. Only being in the hospital would have kept me from being there. For the Friday show, I'll be in a suite with hubby's company (grrrrrrr) Saturday will be MY night: section 120, row C with my bestie :D
  12. well, the price has gone up on these earplugs since last year, but here is the link: http://www.earplugstore.com/musicminders.html They are amazing!!!
  13. As far as ear plugs go, there is a website that I think is called earplugs.com or earplugssuperstore or something, and they actually sell earplugs designed for concerts. They cost less than $4 a pair. They are clear, and they just lower the amount of decibals that come through. I usually wear them when I go to back to back concerts. I can hear everything perfectly through them, and the best part is I don't have the ringing in my ears going to sleep that night or the next day....
  14. I am an admitted Coldplay apologist......I don't think there is any song that I don't like. Of course, there are ones I like better than others. With that being said, Warning Sign has always been a favorite of mine, so I am ecstatic that it is on the setlist for the tour!!
  15. We Texans (at least Dallas-ites) are kind of a weird bunch when it comes to live events. You may not see much excitement before the event, but once it is happening, we can unleash a ton of wild energy!! These shows in Dallas will be amazing live, and the energy will be unstoppable, I promise!!! Not sure which venue you decided to attend, but you won't be disappointed if you chose TX!!
  16. IMP was also HUGE in Dallas!
  17. I'm so exciiiiiiiiited, I can't wait!!!! I think we got a MAJOR break weather-wise....high is supposed to be 95 today, that is much better than 110 any day!!!
  18. I'm with Allegra, I've never seen it done at Starplex either. Back in the early '90s when Lollapalooza traveled there were people who TRIED to create a pit down there, but if I remember correctly there were fences and a lot of security. I stayed back though, b/c people would get seriously hurt.
  19. My thoughts exactly! Security at The Police show was a joke! Granted, I understan it was The Police, not a really out of control crowd. I watched the "security" guards around me check people out and try to hit on people. Nice! I'm sure the show will be good, but I'm really curious to see how Chris handles this venue.
  20. You'd think by now they would have done something to re-design it. It's not like they don't have the revenue to do it. They haven't updated a thing since my first show in 1991 at Lollapalooza.........and, I have been to my fair share of shows there since. I am interested to see how Chris reacts to it. He is so energetic that he is always pouring sweat, even in the indoors in winter here. And, I have never seen a catwalk at Starplex (it will always be Starplex to me), so I wonder how his stage presence will be. Also, I wonder if they will do their little remote stage. It will be interesting. I can't wait!! I can't believe it's in 20 days~~swoon~~!!!
  21. You'll definitely be blasted by the "wall 'o speakers" then. We sat around there for The Police last year and I wished that I'd had ear plugs. Also, expect this show to be sweltering. Drink LOTS of water if you can, you'll need it!!
  22. Sounds like ya'll are getting better seat options than were available in Dallas. Be thankful!!
  23. I sure hope so!! We couldn't get any butterflies at the last concert, but if they do them at this venue, we will be able to.
  24. Ya'll might try reading through the Dallas thread to get an idea of what you'll be dealing with this weekend. In the presale and general sale, no tickets were offered in the first 3 sections. Even in the presale. I'm sure someone else can answer this better that me, but I'm guessing the first 3 sections can seat about 4K people and there were NONE available. They were all set aside for auctions/radio stations/other promotions. It SUCKED. I'm not a novice concert-goer, and I hadn't seen anything like it. I really hope it's not the same for you guys, that some of you can get decent seats, but please be prepared that even in the presale, they might only be offering average seats. And, if you want to go to the concert, then at least get the average seats, b/c in the general sale in Dallas, pretty much lawn seats were left on general sale day.
  25. I understand that, but they have never done this before. There have always been tickets available in the 100's, granted they were always middle to back or the sides, but I've never seen it to where none were available in the presale or general. They usually make at least SOME available.
