  1. And you're entitled to it, fellow Walnut Creeker. :)

I like to equate my relationship with Coldplay to the movie "When Harry Met Sally." We were "friends," then we weren't, then were, then we fell in love. lol :) I started liking them in 2000 when Yellow came out. I had to know who it was and all about them, but I was still fairly young, so I didn't get all wrapped in them. My brother, on the other hand, was in college at the time. I told him about Yellow and he bought Parachutes, and all their other albums. Every time he'd come home, we'd listen together, so I've known most of their stuff for a long time. He became a big fan with AROBTTH and I knew all the songs, but still wasn't crazy about them (like I am now). When X & Y came out, I was in college and was completely overwhelmed with classes, so all I knew of them was their radio stuff - which I loved. BUT...it wasn't till VLVODAAHF came out that I fell IN LOVE with them. I heard VLV on the radio and couldn't get it out of my head. I couldn't believe it was them. So, I went out and bought the cd immediately. Then, I saw them in DC on Halloween 2008, and it changed my life. I've been obsessed ever since and really wouldn't have it any other way. :) So, I guess that I technically am a post-VLV fan, but I've really been a fan all along.
  3. He had an acohol problem? How young was he?
  4. There's an amazing a capella group called Straight No Chaser that I saw last night in DC. They sang Fix You, which was awesome. Even though it's not as good as our boys, it's still worth a listen. This is the studio version, since the vid from the DC concert isn't up yet. Enjoy! :) [ame= ] [/ame]
  5. I went to see an amazing acapella group last night in DC called Straight No Chaser and they sang Fix You. But, before they did, they talked a bit about Coldplay and said that if you don't who they are, then you'd probably recognize Chris Martin's wife's name - Gwyneth Paltrow. I screamed really loudly at this point, for whatever reason, and the guy on stage goes, "Yeah, we think she's hot, too." LOL
  6. I Ran Away... even though I've only ever listened to it once and it was about a month ago. hmmmm.....Interesting...
  7. Where did you get this photo?? I'm 90% certain this is one of my mine! LOL You're free to use it, of course, if it is one I took. :) If it's not mine, you were definitely at my concert b/c I have one with this same expression from Chris. lol :laugh3:

How about Glasses of Water?? Although, I think Politik is more powerful. 42, anyone?

That's what I'm hoping too - summer tour. If they come out with the album before Christmas, like Chris keeps saying, then we have a good chance of a summer tour. But didn't they say they wanted to do something different - like play smaller venues? Or am I just thinking I heard that somewhere...
  10. Your picture's not showing up for me :(
  11. ^ I LOVE the stars idea. And, of course, the whole "meeting the band" thing isn't so bad either. :)
  12. As a teacher, I wouldn't put it past extreme quadruple helicopter parents. lol Can you imagine if that's what is really going on??? :laugh3:
  13. that clip was hysterical...can't wait to see the other part when our boys on it. :)
  14. I'm glad so many other people feel like this whole "solar system" thing is unexpected when all we've heard are phrases like "stripped down." It just seems reminiscent of X & Y and I'm a bit freaked out by it. I totally trust them, because if I had known about their theme for VLVODAAHF, I would've been freaked out too - but look at how amazing that turned out to be. But, just like someone else said, I definitely do not want this to be a continuation of X & Y. I mean, for all we know, he could've asked the crew to build this for Apple's school project or something, right? haha
  15. That was such a strange interview. I don't know quite how to feel about her. I think she came across as being down to eart, but almost in a pretend way? Or maybe I'm just feeling like that because of the people's quotes about her. I really hate what they said about her relationship being 90% physical. I want to think that's the tiniest part of their relationship and they're this fairytale, soulmate couple. They still could be for all I know, but it just kind of distorted my picture of them. It was really nice to get insights into her marriage and private life, though.
  16. Don't know if this was already mentioned, but on wikipedia, it said: "He also writes a regular column on society and innovation in Prospect magazine." PROSPECT magazine?? Coincidence that the boys were all into this Prospekt stuff?? hmmm...
  17. Yeah, I don't know about you all, but I don't know the last time I saw a "divorcing" couple who have such a terrible marriage go out to dinner together. Stupid gossippers.
  18. have you thought of using a Pearl Jam song? There's a ton of those that could be related to death. Thinking specifically about their new album - Just Breathe or The End - just to name two. Look at some of their older albums and they are just FILLED with ones that reference death. Although, if you're set on choosing a CP song, there are lots of good ones to choose from there as well. :)
  19. I agree. I feel like any pics I ever see of those kids, they're with family and always look down-to-earth. Obviously, they'll have perks that most of us can never even dream of, but I think Chris and Gwyn cause them to be very grounded. It's really refreshing to see. So, if living in London does that, then they need to stay there. :)
  20. heard Daylight today in the grocery store....crazy random, but still pleasant.
  21. If someone could PM too, that would be awesome. I know of LIJ, St. Stephen, and Bloodless Revolution. Were there others??
  22. That was exactly my thought. :)
  23. The transition from The Scientist to Lost was a bit odd...but Lost was awesome. Totally loved Lost. How funny was the guy doing Jay-Z's part? lol :) LOVED the incorporation of 42 into Lost, too. The mixture of the three songs at the end was really amazing. Loved the way you layered the rhythms and fit it all together. Ending felt a bit strange - not smooth. But all in all, really fantastic. It must've taken forever to figure all the parts out and bring it all together. Very nice job, fellow PAers! :)
