  1. depends. Up to a week for some women, but... OH. At my school, 50 minutes. It varies though, in some it's an hour or 55 minutes or whatever.
  2. Me and John are doin dat wurd-sharin shit n shit lyk dat
  3. blue and white BUT I WANT TO PAINT IT REEEED BUT MY DAD WON'T LEEEET MEEEEEE WAAAHHHH sq?
  4. But my point is you don't ACT like it, like, any of the time, barring today. People would seriously respect you if you didn't go around making retarded jokes all the time. If that's your kind of thing, you should give it a thought.
  5. I'm in the middle of that. It's interesting. 1984 is LITERATURE though -- it's bound to be not as interesting unless you read really deeply into it. yknow? YES THEY ARE HIGH FIVE
  6. Okay. In american high schools, each subject has its own period (or block). At my school there are seven subjects... five "core" subjects for freshmen, one world language, and one elective. As you go through high school you have the option to take more and more electives. Some american high schools do much longer blocks where, instead of teaching, say, 50 minutes per subject per day, they teach 100 minutes per subject per TWO days -- ie alternating day-to-day. Having art first period is amazing because it's like taking study skills (where you sit around and supposedly do your homework but really people just play poker all the time :P) AND art at the same time -- my art teacher is highly relaxed and says she "understands how hard high school is because it was hard for her, too" -- ie you can just not do the work any given day and turn it in late for full credit/work on homework the entire period/whatever. It's amazing. I love my school so much!!
  7. Ever read Great Expectations? It's impossible to tell what's going on and MUCH longer and awfuller than 1984. Yeah, 1984 drags on but it's sort of interesting -- it made me think. Then again anything is fast-paced and easy compared to Dickens xD
  8. Yeah, I do. Except for when I get thirsty. How many pushups would you say you can do?
  9. haha, our AP Human Geography teacher made us watch this vid called "Two Million Minutes" our second day of class The title refer to the fact that you have two million minutes between induction in the latest crop of freshmen and graduation -- our teacher's point was, "What are you going to do with your two million minutes?" It looked at americans, chinese people, and indians. Needless to say we're phailing HARD. I CAN study seriously if I really feel the need... but I feel the need so RARELY... you know? I probably study more over the summer in things that I'm interested in than I do in the same number of months in school, actually :P edit: That's it. We're going on a date to a romantic Itallian restaurant and probably getting to at least second base afterward :P
  10. NOOOO. BOO. Do you like running?
  11. owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwowowow Whenever I "comment" on something I make up a COMPLETELY bullshit thing like how factor x, y or zed represents the mental archetype of the force of social equality, and use moderatly big words. my English teacher says "wow this read almost like you are in college" my senior friend says "yeap, you'll do good in IB!" judging from my English teacher's response, my senior friend is right, because my English teacher teaches IB juniors as well as plain old AP freshmen. edit: It's great! It's pretty easy to read and it's sort of subtle and thoughtful and slightly boring in some parts but I really liked it. Very interesting read and well-written.
  12. I don't watch it. :P Do you like green tea?
  13. It does to me.... *hides*
  14. haha, yeah. *nothing left to talk about* I've been on this forum for like four hours.j And in case anyone was wondering, I'm almost done with the project I've been working on all week about Sudan! I should be able to finish it in first period Art! WOOT. YEAH FOR PROCRASTINATION AND STILL GETTING As! I'm going to phail so hard at college when I actually have to work. xD
  15. @erick: seriously? Yay! I thought only certain colleges really cared either way. My life has new meaning!! You can actually argue that AP english is harder; it depends on how good you are at reading vs. writing. haha, that's what I do!! whenever I wear a hoodie I put my head on my desk and cover my head with it and I'm out like a rock in five minutes tops. It's usually more productive than class, haha.
  16. oops I accidentally posted my 1000th post before I could do anything special xD oh well! no, poetry DOESN't have to be depressing, that's why I put OR in boldface, to say I'm not connecting poetry with emo or emo with poetry. No, it definitely wasn't a "real" emo phase for anyone in seventh grade. The few suicidally depressed ones just acted like all the non-emo kids.
  17. Seriously John, I thought you had some sort of sophisticated politcal discussion urge just a while ago. Keep up. Or you'll just get banned once again.
  18. Thanks for the help Josh. no, I haven't.......... have you sparknotes'd it or somethin yet?
  19. hrm... they're sort of immature, but some of their jokes are AWESOME, so yeah. Do you like South Park?
  20. Josh: I'll hit you: Any idea about the resource distribution of Sudan? Eh? Hmm? Anybody?? Please.
  21. Literally 80% of the people I know went through an emo OR poetry phase in seventh grade. I think a lot of middle-schoolers do that... interesting that it's the same case with you though. EDIT: OMG I HAVE 999 POSTS!! how time flies... (and how my life flies xD....) anyone think I should do something special for my 1000th post?
  22. I don't know. Freshman maybe? coolcool. I'm thinking of being a biomedical researcher. :cool4: Sexiest. Job. Ever. I've heard junior year is the worst one. edit: I'm on the hardestassed swim team in the state. Colleges probably can't realize that because it's not a high school swim team, but my coach WILL write a SHINING letter of recomendation for my HARD WORK AND DEDICATION. I asked him if he will in three years xD I'm in as many clubs and so forth as I can balance with trying to get A's in school and be kickass awesome in swimming. Which is currently one, hahahaha.
  23. Oh, I don't have any special version. Just the Parachutes one. I think it's better than frankly most of VLV (the album) -- I mean their new work is interesting but I'm discovering I really really really like Parachutes. I was six when it came out so I couldn't really love it when it came out but I wub it now! dowwwnn heeere where wee cannot see soo cleeear humhumhum
  24. OMG THAT'S WHAT I'M DOING! I've managed to sort of convince myself that colleges actually give a sleeping shit whether or not you take IB or AP. AP English is harder than IB English anyway. Honestly I just plan on scoring high on my SATs and graduating with like a 4.0 GPA and getting at least a partial scholarship to Washington University in St. Louis... not sure whether they're one of the colleges that cares about IB or not... should probably find out before I oficially do IB.
