I don't live in Europe so I cannot help you much unfortunately, but I can tell you for just touring one country in a month this summer that your energy will be completely drained and you won't have enough time to truly observe and appreciate each sight if you're popping in and out so fast, so keep that in might when planning. Vacations are meant for leisure! Why don't you give Wikitravel a try, for ideas on where to go? Very detailed and helpful resource. Also, I know of guided tours where you travel in groups country to country along Europe, with discounts on museums and hotel rooms and all that stuff. Exactly the type of deal you're speaking of. Though I can't say about how they're like, just something to look into. They're pretty inexpensive. Good luck!
