[2016-06-01] Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
I can very much confirm all the other reviews so far. Gresat show. Coldplay were in excellent form (Will on drums - perfect!!!). What came into my mind last night is that I still love the live version of Clocks. And Charlie Brown is probably the best song live.

The song request selection seems pretty good, lots of songs from X&Y, Viva or AROBTTH. Someone requested Christmas Lights. That won't happen. I still hope for Gravity, but anything older than Mylo still sounds fine to me.

So, let's keep our fingers crossed that we will hear 'Gravity' tonight.

[2016-06-01] Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
The Veltins Arena just posted on Facebook that the roof will definitely be closed. So no rain caps or boots necessary (except for the journey to the stadium).

[2016-06-01] Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
Re: Fireworks Fireworks inside is not a problem. But Coldplay also have huge fireworks outside above the roof. Not that good when the roof is closed. Anyway, weather could be better indeed. However, I live in Münster, about an hour train ride north of Gelsenkirchen. The weather forecast predicted thunderstorms for a period of four days. We had one very light thunderstorm yesterday. So maybe we are lucky. Re: Song requests The instagram list so far (as I can see) Hurts like Heaven (would be very nice) Gravity (!!!!!) Warning Sign The Scientist Fun

[2016-06-01] Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
Infos here in German: http://www.veltins-arena.de/service/fragen-antworten/ It clearly points out: The roof is closed, unless it is hot outside. Even then, an official agreement needs to be arranged with the city of Gelsenkirchen. Maybe, there is a unexpected and welcomed exception for the Coldplay concert. I am not so sure there will be.

[2016-06-01] Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
I am looking forward to this concert so much. Coldplay will have a few days rest before Wednesday, so there should be in fine form. My only concern is the venue itself. I really do not like the Veltins-Arena as a concert venue. And I still cannot understand why so many bands from around the world prefer it. Of course, they cannot perform in Duesseldorf or Cologne every time. The roof of the Veltins Arena is always closed during concerts (it is legally forbidden to open the roof, unless it is very hot outside. The weather forecast predicts 20 degress on Wednesday evening, so that is not hot and humid). Given the roof closed I cannot see that the Coldplay show with all the fireworks really can go ahead as in other venues (are there any fireworks at all then?). Let's see. There are definitely better concert venues than Gelsenkirchen. But that is my only concert, otherwise I think it will be a fantastis evening.

That sounds strange. There were tickets available a few minutes ago. What is obvious: Eventim needs to work on its performance ;-)

[2016-06-01] Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
Mornin' everybody, that is ridiculous. There are too many stupid people out there who just bought tickets to sell them again for a far more expensive price. This has to stop. Hope everybody from this forum who wanted a ticket, got a ticket!

Tragt ihr euch denn auch alle noch auf die Liste bei swr3.de ein? Die Chancen sind ja gering, aber sie ist immerhin da ein Ticket darüber zu bekommen...

Coldplay should have announced a concert in a slightly larger venue (E-Werk only a capacity of 2000 people). Compared to the Royal Albert Hall, it is very small. Anyway, let's see whether all the German coldplayers get a ticket (I'll try almost everything).

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
The final end of the film was one of the best parts. Chris Martin and his space chocolate buttons - and that laugh at the end. So great.
