It is actually a pretty decent album. I like this list. It's pretty solid. (I am glad that someone feels the same way about the Four Tet album)

I seriously can't see what's catchy about it? a lot of the songs on VLV had really big hooks and choruses in them, which is great for pop/rock I guess. But Christmas Lights, to me, just seems pretty dull the whole way through. It's like they've tried to make a stadium like chorus but they just couldn't?...I dunno

My dad likes a lot of good bands. He got me into music in the first place! He likes Arcade Fire, The National, Sufjan Stevens and other cool bands a lot! My mum likes whatever I play her that's nice... haha, she's liked Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens and some others :thinking: My brother is weird. He likes experimental music, punk, electronic and hip hop :surprised: He's gotten me into a lot of cool bands. Without him I would still think Kanye was an idiot and made crap music!

I think a lot of the major album lists have a quite a bit of favouritism in them. I can't really understand why they'd do it to Arcade Fire though? I'm confused. haha.

I think it was fairly obvious that some of the major magazines/websites/whatever would rank The Suburbs highly.

a good mixtape has its songs in a particular order and a lot of the time a good tracklisting can make or break a mixtape. an ordinary mixtape is nothing more than a collection of songs with no coherence or flow and i think thats what separates a great mixtape from the rest. anyone can put a decent song or two together but only the truly gifted can make a good mixtape. :P lol, I get what you mean. I just think there's no harm in listening to single songs!

I don't really understand this. Most music is written one song at a time. Each song is recorded separately and written separately. Then they are put in order for an album. I think it's cool to sort of make our own albums out of different bands songs.
