Justin Bieber
not knowing who Anne Frank is is completely understandable as well, if I hadn't been interested in WW2 when I was little I would have no idea who she was

Justin Bieber
i really dislike you

Justin Bieber
has anyone actually read Anne Frank's diary though it's 90% her being an annoying teenage girl so I bet she probably would have loved Justin Bieber

Should music fans stop filming gigs on their smartphones?
if someone filming the concert with their phone is really stopping yourself from enjoying it then that's your problem There have been a lot of shows where I would have loved to see some footage of, but no one was filming! (iPhones are stupid expensive in NZ, so concerts look nothing like the photo in the article) ie. Jeff Tweedy and Mavis Staples singing their song, Connan Mockasin joining Liam Finn for an encore...hell there is NOTHING from when I saw Caribou, which was one of the most incredible musical experiences of my life. My only problem with filming is when you see heaps of cameras but then you look on youtube the next few days and there's nothing :( pls share it with the world

Justin Bieber
oh my god am i really going to have to defend justin bieber on the internet what?? he didn't appear out of thin air. He's been playing music for a and he was fortunate enough to be picked up by some businessman, who introduced him to Usher etc. Don't say that pop artists don't work to get where they are!! you should watch Never Say Never (I'm not kidding, it's actually pretty good) true no way! he co-writes and produces everything he releases as well as completely writing 2 songs of his new acoustic album (which are the best songs on the album tbh). plus, he makes all of these songs, mostly written by others sound like his own. It takes talent! pop singers are artists!!! :( oh my god this was in New Zealand I have no idea what he was thinking, I guess our accents are kinda hard to understand :uhoh:

Mixtape Exchange XIV CLOSED! XVI coming soon!!! Very soon!
hi marie :uhoh: thanks for the review!! I'm glad you liked some of it. I was originally going to make a mix that was less obviously made by me but I gave up i thought this was the best bit of the tape tbh this is The Shallows - Groeni He's one guy from my city. I really like this song but his other stuff is kinda weird. Miasma Sky - Baths yay! this is pretty new, I saw him play in November last year and he played this and ahhh :dead: it's so pretty Without You (ft. Kerry Leatham) - Lapalux Yeah, the atmosphere in this song is pretty incredible. Lapalux is probably my favourite electronic musician around right now. Devotion - Jessie Ware I really like Jessie Ware, while her songs aren't exactly special, the songs are produced by some more interesting musicians than you would expect from an indie pop-ish record. Funny because this is called Tea Leaf Dancers - Flying Lotus Vibes and Stuff - A Tribe Called Quest okay so I knew you didn't like rap so I tried to give you a few different examples of the stuff I really like. I used to hate rap with all my heart but now it's probably my favourite genre so it's real important to me to give people examples of some good stuff. hah. Blow My High (Members Only) - Kendrick Lamar Thought this might be a bit of a risk. I just like how it's about Aaliyah  The Book Of Soul - Ab-Soul I'm really glad you like this. It was one of my favourite songs of last year. I've come real close to crying a few times while listening to it, it's about Ab-Soul's girlfriend of 7 years who commited suicide :( I'd really like to say he had more songs like this, but he doesn't... Keep - Nils Frahm I just put this in so I could have a better transition to the more electronic stuff. I really love it though. I like music where you can hear the sound of the pianist hitting the piano and it's almost like you can hear the room he's in too. Stick To My Side - Pathu Du Prince feat. Panda Bear from Animal Collective Ikopol - Dauwd ooh, wasn't sure if you'd like this. I'm a sucker for nice + pretty dance music Sais - Floating Points more beautiful dance music. I can't get over this song. It really is like being transported somewhere... yr welcome! I'm glad you liked it. :nice: 1. The Shallows - Groeni 2. Miasma Sky - Baths 3. Without You (ft. Kerry Leatham) - Lapalux 4. Devotion - Jessie Ware 5. Tea Leaf Dancers - Flying Lotus 6. Vibes and Stuff - A Tribe Called Quest 7. Blow My High (Members Only) - Kendrick Lamar 8. The Book Of Soul - Ab-Soul 9. Keep - Nils Frahm 10. Stick To My Side - Pathu Du Prince 11. Ikopol - Dauwd 12. Sais - Floating Points http://www.mediafire.com/?kdtksmr46666yb5

Mixtape Exchange XIV CLOSED! XVI coming soon!!! Very soon!
here I'm really bad at reviews this is probably going to be really short 1. hahahahah yes John Mayer - Heartbreak Warfare. John Mayer is probably my own guilty pleasure I love this :uhoh: 2. pretty ambient intro. Turned into a boring pop/rock ballad kind of thing though. not my vibe...sorry :( 3. oh my god Kings Of Leon. 2-3 years ago I might have loved this but not anymore IM SO SORRY 4. Another pop/rock ballad! Just reminds me of the radio stations my mum listens to. His voice is making me uncomfortable "I wanna kiss your scars tonight" :wreck: 5. I liked the start of this and how simple it was. I lost interest when the chorus came in though. It's quite nice though, I don't hate it!! 6. sorry but nope The Killers - When We Were Young :disappointed: 7. I wrote a song when I was 11 that sounded a lot like this. weird. pop/rock ballad!! Thank you heaps for giving me music that I've never heard before but this really isn't my kind of thing... 8. Florence and The Machine. I really like the beginning but I'm not a fan of their big, orchestral kind of sound. Ehhhh 9. Is this Keane? I haven't heard them since I was 9-10. This isn't bad, kind of dull though. I like his voice! 10. my brother's name is Jack Johnston 11. I recognise this guy's voice. Curious to see who it is. I actually really like this, but I can't really pinpoint why. It reminds me of The Swell Season. ooh violin :surprised: and some girl is singing now. pretttttyy 12. Nice end to the tape. pop-y indie-y somethingarather. once again not really my thing but whatever it's harmless OKAY I'm really sorry I didn't like this much but props to you for showing me stuff I'd never heard and having a nice flow to the tape. "Different horses for different courses", I guess (that is a saying, right?). I'm interested to see who some of these songs are but I can't really see me listening to them again afterwards. Thank you!!!
