i dont even know what thinking critically is anymore. good thing im taking an english class about this. anyways i just meant that i think about what they are trying to say with their lyrics, not just in the literal sense. in any case i realized my mistake from before and i accept it, everyone is entitled to their opinion. i think i was just stressed with school, and i took it out on something else...sorry. and i dont blindly love everything coldplay. i actually have a couple of songs i dont like:embarrassed: shocking i know. "pour me" ... i dont know, i just always have to skip that one i dont know if its the lyrics or not i dont listen to enough of it to see if thats whats wrong.

that coldplay shirt with the lyrics on it is discontinued =( now im not getting my shirt =( yesterday at school in two of my classes i managed to include something coldplay. my english class we were introducing ourselves and i said my favorite band. political science: i said who i admired, i said Chris Martin. =) today i will see what happens...lol

first of all telling someone they dont think critically is like calling someone names to win an argument. now thats dumb. secondly of course i can think critically, i DO pay attention to the lyrics, i think of many things that the lyrics could refer to. those people who dismiss them by saying they are so literal and obvious are the ones not thinking crtically. and i am not calling them names or anything, i really do think they are not really thinking about what the words could mean. so i dont just accept them just because, i like the lyrics because i think they add to the song in certain way. when i said that i felt bad for people who dont like the lyrics to their songs, i didnt say that i expected them to blindly love everything coldplay. but i would think that given the kind of forum it is, i did expect people to love coldplay for what they are, lyrics and all. and of course you can still love coldplay eventhough you dont agree with the lyrics, but you still are not getting the full effect of the song because in the back of your head, you are still thinking that the lyrics arent great. sorry for the long ramble (again) but i felt that i was insulted directly and i needed to defend myself. all my comments from before were meant to be in general so sorry if i made anyone feel the need to defend themselves.

i agree with what you said about people being too lazy to understand their lyrics. saying that they make too much sense that its obvious? i dont get how thats possible. you can interpret any of their lyrics in so many ways. i feel bad for people who dont like the song's lyrics they are not getting the full effect of a song. politik is amazing, i love those lyrics =) and i still think paying attention to the lyrics is no way to appreciate their music. you need to look at the big picture and stop being so picky about things. damn it rambled for too long sorry

When you give your little brother a mission to record the simpsons episode with coldplay in it. because you had to work that night :angry: when you buy the brothers & sisters cd eventhough you already had downloaded the songs from itunes.

yesterday i bought the brothers & sisters ep. at barnes &noble eventhough i had already downloaded it from itunes. i just wanted to have the actual cd and it has a wome writting on the inside about the guys from their beginnings.

i dont think that their songs have bad lyrics at all! they are open for your interpretation and i dont think about what they literally are saying in the lyrics. i dont think thats a way to listen and truly appreciate music in general and specially with coldplay. so theres songs that have words that are nice and make sense, but then those songs can only be applied to certain people or situations. coldplay, with their lyrics that dont really make sense can be applied to many people and situations...and there lies the beauty of coldplay. yea long post, who cares, i just had to let this off my chest cuz this thread was bugging me

since us californians have been having so many storms and its still raining to make me feel better i listened to rainy day:) people stopped asking me what im listening to in my ipod they just say coldplay...of course:rolleyes:

i daydream about coldplay when im at work to pass the time. mostly i fantasize that they happen to go to the store i work at and that i get to help them. =)

hey so just now my little cousin was watching the wiggles and i saw that there was this song about a wedding (reminded me of wedding bells) and then the kids were throwing what looke like butterfly confetti! of course they did not look like coldplay's butterflies, but still.

coldplay makes everything better. yesterday i was at work and i did not feel like being there. then strawberry swing came on and i was instantly recharged. then square one came on and i was all smiles =) then when i was off no one came to pick me up until like an hour later! i was out in the cold and i was so pissed off. so i started to listen to don't panic and others to calm myself. but they so long to pick me up so i was still very mad and i unfortunately cry when im mad, so then i heard a rush of blood to the head to comfort myself. i LOVE coldplay. THEY at least were there for me that day!

wow im at a loss of words. wish i was able to get something from coldplay's early days =( im so incredibly jelous of you guys! but the only good thing is that i know that some things went to actual coldplayers, so i guess im happy for you guys. lol
