First Coldplay Concert?
July 18, 2009 at the Home Depot Center. Way out there in the lawn. I remember showing up 2 hours early just to be in the front row for the lawn. I love them for having a b-stage and the free live CD was a great touch too. Probably the best concert I've been to.

[3-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Samsung AT&T Summer Krush Concert Series, Los Angeles
So here's my detailed concert review. First, I was wearing my VLV blue shirt and a fedora hat, so in case anyone saw me. Our seats were Sec. 9, it was a little bit to the right of the stage but nonetheless, smack dab in the middle of the venue. Perfect! I actually was singing out loud and proud to all of the songs. People around me were actually pretty cool enough not to be rude and do stupid stuff during the show. I was standing for most of it, except for the slower songs where I try to sit and maybe rest my voice as well. :D A good handful of people around me were standing around and was enjoying the concert. However, I noticed that most of the people around the venue were seating down and didn't seem into the songs, especially the non-single ones. Even the ones in the pit didn't seem all that lively. What a shame. Loved that they played Everything's Not Lost. I remember when they pulled out their big drums for VLV, my mom was able to notice it and point it out to me and tell me what they're gonna play. Was actually proud of her for that. Was surprised they didn't play Violet Hill. Still not a big fan of God Put A Smile Upon Your Face. Fix You is still shiver inducing. From my perspective, it was a great concert, maybe minus the crowd but I didn't give much care about them as I wasn't there to see them :P PS. I kinda wish I brought my DSLR since they didn't seem too concerned about that (They were more into checking the ID to see if the tickets matches your name) but at the same time I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the concert as much as I did. Crappy pictures will be up later.:P ETA: The photos can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/funtiveros/

Ahh, yes. That was it. I remember him being on the piano, still loved that they played it though.

I remember him messing up on a song and said "ahhh shh--". I totally laughed and my mom even commented that he may have forgotten the lyrics. Can't remember the song of the top of my head right now though.

Ha, I noticed most were seating down. I tried to hold my own in my section and stand and rock-out to most of the songs.

Had so much fun at the show. First time hearing Charlie Brown as I didn't seek out any live versions of it. Great song. Love Major Minus! I'll have to check if any of the media I got was any good. Loved every moment of it. Glad I didn't look up the set-list, great surprises along the way. Cheers Coldplay!

Anyone have any update on the line? We're not leaving till 5 so I'm wondering how long is it. Hopefully, there's not much traffic so it'll only be a 20min drive.

They might have some band opening. They have this opening act contest going on, and when I went last year they had the band that won perform before the main act.

It is a bit something like that. I went to one of their shows last year, Kelly Clarkson was the performer and it was at Hollywood and Highland here in L.A., and there were two different tickets. One from them, and the other from 1iota, the company that handles Jimmy Kimmel audience members, I got tickets to both but decided to stick with Samsung. Bad call, we were sadly at the back and 1iota members got in first . So yeah, I'm sure it's for the TV. I think Coldplay will play two songs for the taping of the show or something of the likes. Personally though, I think the tickets will be in the GA area. Gah, still trying to get some tickets. :\ Hopefully, I'll finally get lucky and get some.

Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!
Haven't posted in a while but I wanted to get my thoughts in. The first time I heard it I didn't know what to say. It was a very different Coldplay. I agree with some that said they disliked it. I don't mind change but this is just...on a very different arena where they once were. I hope this is just some filler track that is made to be a pop single but I never thought of Coldplay as someone that does that.

What song made you a Coldplay fan?

'Till Kingdom Come I have heard other Coldplay songs before that but after that song, I knew I just had to see what Coldplay was all about.

The show was incredible! This was my first Coldplay show and it didn't disappoint. I was one of the people 12 miles back Chris was talking about :D. It didn't matter, I was at the very front, very near the middle. My mom and I arrived around 4:50 pm and there wasn't a lot of people. I expected a lot more. We sat until around 6 when people around us started getting ready to go in. Unfortunately, we had to wait till around 6:20 to get in. Once we were in we hurried to the Grass Berm area. We were probably one of the first 15 people up there. Once there we settled in the very front, near the middle. My mom and I took turns to go to the bathroom. Bought nachos and pretzels. It was a long wait till the first opening act. The opening act came in at around 7:30. I thought there weren't going to be a lot of people since almost half is still not in their seats by then. My mom wanted me to buy from the merch already but I hesitated, wanting not to miss anything.(Bad idea) The second act came in. Then Coldplay came in around 8:20 or so. The crowd went nuts. In the very back, I can attest that people weren't very enthusiastic. I was one of the few people cheering them on. During the not so known songs, I was one of the few singing along with them and some was chatting through it  I took very few pictures since I only had a 5 megapixel camera with 2.4 optical zoom. This didn't result on me enjoying the concert more. I don't know why but people didn't seem loud in between songs. People in the back did start going nuts when Coldplay went to the back to do acoustic songs. During the wait for the encore, I saw people leaving. I couldn't believe it! There were also people walking in the walkway right below the berm in between songs. All in all, it didn't affect my experience because I'm not the one that missed out on Coldplay, it's them. After the concert, I went down to the merch to get a shirt, they sold out on tour book and bracelets though :( I also went and picked up a couple of butterflies and exited with LRLRL. My mom told me that it's pretty sweet of them to give out free cds. Thinking about it, they probably have to give more than 1 million cd's by the end of their tour. She also said they don't have a break in between their sets; like a first and second act in a play. It took us 10 mins or so to get out of the parking lot. We did go through the side street to avoid the traffic. After entering the freeway, we had a 30 min drive home. *As I am writing this I hear Lovers In Japan playing loudly from my neighbor. I don't know if he/she went to the concert but either way good of him/her.

Do you think Chris should fix his teeth?
No, I'm perfectly fine with what he has. I have a gap on mine as well and I'll be getting braces soon and if anything else I just hope it would look as good as his. :D

hey guys! Long time lurker, first time poster.:D I'm just wondering about the seating in the grass berm area, the tickets indicated a seat number but I think it'll be more like the GA area, anyone have any idea if it is assigned seating or not? Also, around what time will the gates to the seats open? I will be there around 3 p.m., that's the earliest I could go since my whole week has been packed with visitors until sunday. Hope to see you guys there!
