~*~*Eurovision 2013*~*~
^ Poor Ryan. And the terrible thing is that he was the best out of the other Irish contestants. I quite like Sweden's song too, it's mom and my sister's favourite. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBUJ0u7ZVaE]Robin Stjernberg - You (Sweden) 2013 Eurovision Song Contest - YouTube[/ame]

~*~*Eurovision 2013*~*~
It's time again for the Eurovision song contest, the biggest thing to happen in Europe since World War II. With the final kicking off tomorrow night, who are your favourites? Who is the most ridiculous? the worst? Homelessness
I was just thinking about this. In our city, like the majority of other cities there is a problem with homelessness. But there are charities and organisations set up to provide them with some sort of shelter during the day, a free dinner, cheap coffee, etc. Of course my city is kind of small, so of course that would be a factor. (this will sound terrible, but I am only really thinking about the people who I consider to be genuinely homeless.... there have been a fair number of fake homeless people here ) I was watching that video where the guy was handing out the A&F clothing to the homeless people. I was so shocked at the amount of homeless people and how they had their set ups :uhoh: There was just huge numbers of them in one spot. Is there not a place they can go during the day so they feel safe? D;

Online Courses
Well there's two other main primary school teaching colleges. One is Mary immaculate, and as you can tell by the name it is basically the Catholic one. And then the other is under trinity and is the seen as the Protestant one. And seeing as I'm practically both of those I can choose which ever one :charming: sorted.

Moved up for college :nice: the rent was surprisingly cheap, so I couldn't resist.

Online Courses
I can barely afford the college fee itself :uhoh: Annoyingly, this could see me moving back in with my parents, until I get enough money again to support myself.

PROM
First off, nothing happen between the two of them. A big group of his friends were going, so for him it was a ticket to be honest. And we got together like 2 months after, twas grand. She seemed slightly odd around me for a while when he and I started dating, like sometimes brushing off when I talked about him (so I felt like I could never talk to her about him) but nothing major at all really.

Online Courses
It's one in a college called Hibernia, based in Dublin. It's a two year course and the fees are €10,000. http://hiberniacollege.com/ I was advised to get my primary school teaching degree through it by my old primary school principle. But it might be a while before I save enough to be able to do it.

Online Courses
I am planning to do one too, hopefully in the near future. It's a full proper primary school teaching degree, but the majority of it is done online. I just need to do one more year of this course, and then take a year out to work cause it is quite expensive D; and then I can start.... so I have no experience. I'm no help to you. So if anyone would like to help both Gregory and I, then please feel free to do so.

PROM
We don't have prom, but we have a debs (debutante ball.... classy as fuck) and we only get one of them, after we get the results of our final exams. Not going to lie, I loved ours. I went by myself (cause I'm cool and a trend setter and totally not shy and lame). And although there were people in couples, we went mainly as a group of friends :nice: The meal was grand, the band was fun, DJ played good dancey pop music, and we stayed up talking at my friends house til I went home at 9am. Also because I went, my mom was making the joke that I don't need to bring a man, I can just steal someone else's ... yeah, one of my best friends took my now boyfriend.

Education
Like most western systems, the Irish highschool system is mainly based on memory. There's exams when you get to the end of your 3rd year called the Junior cert, and then a final end of school exams, called the leaving cert. One of a few upsides is that there are also practical elements too to these exams; geography and history projects that go toward your final leaving cert mark, lab reports and an practical experiment in Junior Cert science... etc. Highschool here helps you get into college, it doesn't help you prepare for college. I, however, was lucky enough to have very good teachers, many of which tried to make me understand what I was learning, instead of just remembering it off by heart. This was especially so with Chemistry (even though my teacher was a bitch of a woman). I had also always worked well on my own, on project or research work (the kind of work that need your own incentive). So I had no problem transiting over to college (where all of my work is research, etc), tbh I loved it. But a good number of people struggle with this transition. ALSO Irish is compulsary for everyone and it is a giant ****. Higher level Irish is compulsary for primary school teaching. I initially did ordinary level, but seeing as I want to be a primary school teacher I am doing the higher level exam this year. I find it really really hard though D; Y'all know I would make an awesome primary school teacher (let's just ignore the use of the words bitch and **** above). Why do I need to be fluent in Irish?

Getting to know you (The Cping interviews)
If you like an artist or a movie, you should just like them :nice: It sounds a bit silly to resist liking something (be it mainstream, or something a bit more obscure). And if you feel embarrassed or odd about liking something, well then you don't have to share it with everybody if you don't want to.
