  1. open fiiII-AIII-AHHH-YEEE-AIIIIII-IIRREEEEE.
  2. these new tracks make me want a Prospekt's March like EP for Ghost Stories... one can only hope.
  3. first impressions: I'm really liking All Your Friends and Ghost Story. I feel like these tracks show a much better representation of how the band could work together while including the new electronic sounds they have been playing with from MX and GS. The instrumentation from the Jonny, Will, and Guy are much more present (especially in Ghost Story) and these songs in result sound a lot fuller than the other songs on GS. These may just become my favorite tracks from GS. To me, electronic sounds are nice but need to be used better in GS. I think when it is used for a more atmospheric experience (Midnight, intro to AIMH) it is very effective. But when it starts to replace the usual instruments, it loses the life that those instruments offer when they are played by Jonny, Will, and Guy.
  4. get leaks is listing that the deluxe edition is leaked. downloading now.
  5. When I did this, I was surprised that I chose every VLV song over whatever GS had to offer. For me, the Viva era was just so lush and rich. It was a time when I really felt that coldplay was a band working together extremely well. Their music was experimental and interesting but did not deviate from the sound of coldplay. It was still uniquely coldplay but in a different way than what AROBTTH and Parachutes had offered. I think AROBTTH is my favorite coldplay album but the VLV album is a very close second. I can listen to both of those albums without wanting to skip a song because each track offers a different experience that contributes to the whole theme of the album. Maybe I have not listened to GS enough yet or I will have to let i grow on me, but it feels like a very Chris centered album. This may be because we know that he and Gwyneth split but it feels like there was less involvement or input from the others in the band. I know that GS was supposed to be a more stripped down album but it doesn't seem to have the same richness or fulfilling sound that Parachutes had. In general, I am a bit disappointed in the new album but it does have its gems (O and True Love, TL is the most interesting and exciting track to me).
