I've seen all 3 of them... and i'd rank in this order for anyone who might care! haha 1. Snow Patrol 2. U2 3. The Script just nothing too special about the Script...although their new song is number one on my sister's top 25 most played....

heyyy everyone... sorry I've been MIA (buried @ school) :dozey: so excited for you guys who have a concert coming up. Wish I had one to look forward to! :) but I'm just going to add my 2 cents to the Jen/Bianca "Cartwheels" debate and say that I love that song. It won't ever take over "You Are My Joy" in my Reindeer Section book, but it's still great. To be honest I didn't really appreciate it until I heard a version from the Reworked Tour - same goes for "Set Fire to the Third Bar" I'm ashamed to say that I always just passed over that song until I heard a few live versions! :) I'm a little sad too that I missed the Leona Lewis dialogue haha. I want to preface this by saying that I do NOT watch "The Vampire Diaries" (but secretly I'm lying - I DVR it and catch it whenever I'm bored). Anywho, one of the characters died a slow sad death on an episode a few weeks ago and they played the Leona Lewis version...it acutally sounded pretty and that version seemed to fit in just there. BUT this bugs me because imo it's an inferior version, and obviously now it's the more popular version around here (you guys were right - silly people think it's her song.) :rolleyes::dozey: But on the other hand - that is a ridiculously silly show and it's probably for the better that SP wasn't associated with it???

^ OMG julie - love the desmond above. i hope he gets back soon. SPOLIER... I really thought Sayid was gonna be like a Jesus resurrected thing....apparently i was way wrong! He should have taken that pill i think soooo good... LOVED the cameo tonight (mac from it's always sunny) made me laugh!

Did anyone else notice that "Set Fire to the Third Bar" has climbed like a millions spots and is now @ #33 on the itunes singles chart? @ Jen I love Signal Fire - super super songs, and hahaha i try not to keep my house guests in the corner...emphasis on try @ Kimmi - so cool we are in the same boat with school - what are you studying?

I'm from Boston (and still work in Boston) but I am in grad school in New York City - i go back and forth so often it's hard to just pick one! :rolleyes::):dozey: also: i love the sound of your room - i have some cute small pics up but anytime I have people over they make fun of them...so they are hiding in the corner right now!! kimmi wicked cool poster! is it hanging in your room already? I'd say "up to now" is doing fairly well - it was sold out several times at local stores in NYC when i went to buy it (finally just bought it on itunes...but i usually love having hard copies of good albums :) ) Chasing cars is still playing on the radio here all the time. I hear Just Say Yes from time to time, and Run is on the "rock/altern" stations a fair amount. The stations in Boston are better than in NYC (in my opinion) only because whenever i have z100 on here in the city, its either Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Black Eyed Peas, or Jay-Z [and then such hits as fireflies, and some hip hop junk that i usually switch pretty quickly hahah]. It's a little more varied in New England i think (but then again i am strongly biased). :)

aaaahhhh sorry just saw that you wrote that [about dear john]. I agree they seem to be hitting the big time in NA thanks to Grey's Anatomy etc.... Up to Now didn't hurt either....

and because i always report when i hear SP songs in movie previews...."set fire to the third bar" is the song in the "dear john" preview...doesn't really fit... :) have a great week everyone

is it a problem that I wish Snow Patrol opened for EVERY concert i went to?!?!?! I'm going to Lady Gaga in NYC tomorrow night and I'm hoping there will be a surprise SP appearance - i seriously know that that will never happen, but how awesome would that be! @jo - i totally agree though - if i had been at one of the coldplay/sp shows that probably would have been too much to handle...haha U2 & SP was as close as i'll get! :)

@ Kimmi & Jen - thank you guys SO much for the suggestions for the mix cd - i still have a week to finalize but I am making a long list based on your suggestions!!! (:D) - ugh it's so hard to pick the best 80 minutes of SP songs, but thanks to you guys i'm getting closer. Def will have to put "olive grove" on there! :) @ Kimmi - Elena is right - I did mean our cozy little Gary group - my goal there is to find some adorable pic that hasn't been seen/posted before - hahah no luck yet... @ A-chan - that is absolutely miserable that you have to wait to so long for movies to come out - i would not be happy with that ( I see too many movies). Does that apply to some music too? ALl I can say is thank goodess for netflix - too bad that's probably not an option in France either huh? But you guys got "pirate radio" earlier right? I was so excited to see the "Final Straw" album cover at the end. SP doesn't get much recognition in the US so I was pretty happy to see it up there amongst all the great cds :) Hope everyone back in school/uni is going great! :)

oooh i wondered if the new album was definite too! I have the EP and latest one. Saw them play @Saturday Night Live last year (Rosario Dawson hosted that night) - they were AMAZING live. I read one review (definitely can't remember where) but it compared them to the Beach Boys....i don't know if i agree about that, but especially in person their harmonies were great!

ha Jen, I agree it's hard to top those three - i try all the time on the Gary board, but no luck...bahah. I seriously get more news/pics, AWESOME vids here than anywhere (obvi)...and trust me - you are all all-stars compared to me! So I am seeing a friend next week who needs a real pick-me-up. I wanted to make her a SP mix...she is really into Lady Gaga, Lady Hawke, No Doubt, Stevie Nicks (and Fleetwood Mac), and Hole. Anyone have any suggestions for songs to put on a cd for her that would get her hooked? She hasn't heard any of their songs - so obviously I'll have to put "Run" on there but what else should a first-timer hear...hmmm..

just got home from "leap year"... didn't go for the song - which is good because it wasn't in it anywhere - HOWEVER it was super cute (typical chick flick if you like those things) and the guy was a brooding scruffy irishman....does that remind you of anyone we know?....i tried to put my finger on it but just couldn't... :rolleyes:;);)

She thinks it was "soundstage" but I swear I would know if SP had a soundstage... did anyone catch it (I'm sure it's a repeat?!?!?) Happy New Years! :) yayay 2010

YAYAY Jen! You got it you lucky duck - did you get a chance to watch the DVD material yet? I'm dying to hear what you think! I will have to break down and just buy it for myself I think...especially if you people say its worth it! :) Hope everyone had a happy holiday! :)
