I was just perusing through some SP news and came upon a quote of Gary saying that "nothing sells in America unless its really poppy" - basically saying that the "tired pony" and new SP stuff doesn't even stand a chance here! Brandon Flowers (The Killers) says that stuff all the time too (remember he said if it wasn't Kurt Cobain, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, or Beyonce then Americans won't buy it!). I know SP isn't huge here, but are they more popular abroad? I don't share that opinion about music in America at all though! anyone else agree?

LOVE the dvd! It's really worth the $$$... if you're on the fence about spending the money - just get it! so fun :) if they are close to you i definitely recommend - they were one of the best shows i saw this year and i'd def go a hundred times more :)

New York is like 2 driving hours from Philly so I'd say it's pretty close! Neither (NY and Penn) are New England states though! :) Christina - lucky your boyfriend was so close to the parade - he must be in the financial district eh? did you get to see any of it?

did anybody go to the parade today? i went downtown to go shopping and IMAGINE my surprise when i realized that i was surrounded by a billion wasted yankee fans and that the streets were all blocked offf..... It's definitely my own fault on the up side it was a nice parade and its beautiful out!

Bianca - glad you are backkk seriously yesterday I was like - where the hell is sheeee?!!! glad the internet is back that must have been torture. I clicked and listened - :D love love love can't wait to own it for my very own self DO YOU believe that the signal fire video isn't on sale in the US itunes store - at least if it is, it's not showing up on mine. which explains why i didn't know there was one! whoever said that "give me strength" sounds a little bit like "signal fire" at the beginning was spot on - good call!

don't even get me started on Grey's Anatomy! although everyone here already knows my hatred for that show...haha but that was a vivid picture, and i agree those people are probably awful fans ;-) :)

AHHHH JEN! you get results - can't say I'm surprised! That's a great video but it was so awesome to be there too .... even when i think about it now i can't help but smile :) get a chance to listen to any reindeer section yet? i guess its not really snow patrol, but gary makes it count ;-)

bahahah sorry i guess it does seem like i left ya hanging - didn't mean to do that sorry! I am not a GREAT story teller, and it's probably pretty boring to everyone else but I'll give it a whirl! :D WELL at gillette stadium SP was out and they were just being so funny and endearing and it was so easy to see that they were just winning everyone over ... so shut your eyes came and went and then they played....another great song which i forget by now...but when it was over the whole crowd just started singing "shut your eyes and sing to meeeeee" over and over again - went on for more than two minutes i would say - Gary literally fell to the floor and was so excited and surprised that people were still singing it. he then got on his knees and thanked everyone - it was so sweet and sincere and it was so memorable - especially since i don't think there were many SP fans in the 50,000 to begin with (whyyy aren't they bigger in North America) OK well that was an awful story but trust me it was one of the best concert moments ever (imo...even though you might think it was kind of lame) hahah

pettite on 3 days is so arrogant - they last the whole season, make it to the playoffs, and then switch to a 3 man pitching rotation? ohhhhh yankeees WHO else loves Pedro tonight? "Red Sox fans never want to see the yankees win, not even in a Nintendo game!" <3 <3 :D

hahah JEN you are so positive - and how lucky were you that you got SP at the coldplay show and an upgrade on top of that! I have to say this isn't the first time that I've heard about these upgrades - thats a totally stand up move for them to move people to the front - i love it! I've been VERY lucky with getting good seats off the bat so i can't complain - but seriously that must be so exciting! two of my BEST concert experiences involve SP for two very different reasons and of course one was at each of the two shows I saw, so I couldn't say which one I loved more - although the small shows are obviously a little extra exciting because you can see and hear more....

i saw SP open for U2 at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts which housed like 50,000 people and 2 days later at the Beacon Theatre in NYC which seats 3,000, and BOTH were amazing. Gillette was so fun and a ton of energy and they played in that crazy U2 stage so well, but at the smaller place it just felt so up close and personal - Gary was actually talking and having conversations with people in the way back during the show. Both nights were so different but just so enjoyable :) :D .... i might be in love <3

nooooo it can't be true - that was the lone comedic line of light in HBOs line-up - not to mention one of the funniest shows on tv!! I thought I had heard that Season 2 would be the last i was just hoping it wasn't trueeee

I'm normally not a HUGE fan of live dvds but i saw them in concert this past summer and it was one of the best i have EVER seen (and it was a busy summer so that's saying alot) hahah. what to do...what to do...

OK yes, that video is adorable - fits great with the song. Is he not the cutest with that smile? oh boyyy :kiss:;) all this reindeer talk is causing me to put "you are my joy" on repeat - love it Jen - i really agree - at first i wasn't feeling ray of light but it is growing on me. its just so hard to hear covers and not wish they were the originals. I've only heard a few covers that i like better than the originals! Bianca - LOVE the new siggy - love love love - during winter break i am going to figure out how to work my photoshop, i might need a new pointers then! hahah - about that interviewer too - hysterical :)

uhh Biana, Elena is right - if it weren't for you I would NEVER see the pics that I do. Honestly it's a skill, and I don't even know where to being. Also, I too downloaded those gems you found all of a sudden. It's so weird that its the same song just with diff lyrics (Chasing Cars), so cool! :) uhhh good think NO ONE outside of UK can watch that interview/concert :dozey: i am severely jealous but i'm sure it will be on youtube soon enough, right? now that its the weekend, I am off to see these webisodes that everyone is talking about! :) you guys are such good fans - I'm trying to keep up!
