  3. Weeell it has been a while, hasn't it?? Time for a new chapter!
  4. I'M GOIN' TO COLDPLAY!! 3 most stressful hours of my life. Period. I brought up the page on three computers, two phones and one iPad, and kept refreshing the pages over and over. After mush trial, I got two event only tickets (at a loss of $800) and instantly burst into tears :awesome: I say give the smartphones a go as well. It works on occasion!
  5. I apologize for my harsh words against Mr Berryman's shirt :whip: Seeing it in the bigger picture, I now think there is nothing more sexy than that man. Oh my god, if I don't have him I'm gonna DIE :freak: Are we all agreed that he is perfection? Anyone?
  6. Or he could just choose both :wink3: Ooo a three way with Buckin and Guy... :stunned: Phew! Is it hot in here, or is it just me?
  7. :awesome: Of course that was the theme! That's fantastic, I love it! And I love Kraftwerk. I can't believe I didn't pick it...
  8. :laugh3: Jokes William, jokes! I didn't mean it.
  9. Yes, I really liked it too! When I first found it I thought "Oh god, what have they done to Viva?" But then I listened to it, and I think it's not too bad. One of the better remixes, I think :awesome:
  10. Any of you ladies see this?? He even looks sexy when he's not meant to be looking sexy :wacky: London, U.K. (April 25, 2011)--Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman recently built his own private studio and included a number of Chandler Limited pieces. "I love pretty much all of Chandler's gear," Berryman said. "Wade [Chandler designer] Goeke has revived some great pieces from the golden age of Abbey Road studios. Two of my favorite-sounding records are The Beatles' Abbey Road and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, both of which can attribute their sound partly to the TG series consoles. The Zener limiter and Curvebender EQ were obvious choices for me and live happily across my mix bus. They just sound great, huge and warm. "I have an extensive collection of vintage outboard gear but find myself working 'inside the box' to keep workflow efficient. I will sum into the TG mixer with the Zener and Curvebender across the output." U.K. distributor Unity Audio supplied a total of two 16-channel TG mixers, two Zener mastering compressors and two Curve Bender mastering EQs. A TG Channel MKII completes the Chandler element of the new room. Lookin' fine Mr Berryman, lookin' fine :wink3: Not sure about the shirt though... :P

  12. Ok, here is my (extremely belated) review! Track 01: This is a great opening track. The sirens and guitar build up at the start, which gives it a sort of car chase feel. I recognize his voice… can’t pick it though. This sort of sounds like one of those 80’s Beach Boys type bands. I know it probably isn’t, but y’know. Similar style. The song altogether it really feel good; it’s got a good beat, reminds me off summer! The bit at the end sounds like Apparatjik, with the phone calls an’ all. Awesome. Track 02: It starts off a lot more gentler than the first song. It fits in well to take it down a notch. I really love this one. It sounds like Headless Heroes with the guitar. It’s incredible, just crazy, that guitar. I like how they’re really only using that one instrument apart from voice. It’s a great track. I’m really into this kind of music, so I’d like to hear more of this group! Track 03: For a moment I thought this was Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis, but no. This is better than that. Another feel good track! The drums are pretty cool… the lyrics are quite cute. The only issue is that I thought it should have gone for a lot longer than it did. Don’t why, but oh well. Impressed so far! Track 04: This song sounds hill-billy-ish! :awesome: That’s pretty funny. The style is really like Bob Dylan, but you probably already knew that. In fact, all the songs you’ve chosen so far have fit together really well. They all have the same kind of thing going, but all different. Track 05: What’s this? No guitar? Piano? No… The lyrics are hilarious. A really very amusing song. I enjoyed it! The piano and big beats remind of Queen’s style. I don’t really know what else to say about it, but I did like it very much. Actually, it’s more like Fairytale of New York, by the Pogues. Yes. That’s a better comparison. That’s not a bad thing, incidentally. Track 06: Oooo, I loved this one. The drums, oh the drums…. I like…. It’s one of those songs you absolutely have to turn up so loud you can’t hear anything else. Yeeeeah… *melts* …. wow….. wish I was somewhere in London. Cough cough *Guy’s bed* cough cough. What? I didn’t say anything. Anyways, the song. Yes, it’s excellent. Simply fantastic. Bfewuohfewpj. Track 07: Hmmm… suggestive. Now this is very Apparatjik, the heavy breathing and all. It’s really funky (he he - it’s funky!). Space. That’s what it reminds me of! Space! It sounds really retro and sort of out of this world. Do you know what I mean? Track 08: The singer’s voice in this song sounds so familiar… his name’s on the tip of my tongue. Sort of a slow song, really. The guitar I find similar to Maroon 5. The sound of it gets sort of soaring with strings at the end of the song. There’s something really creepy about it. Do you know what I mean? Especially with the lyrics. Definitely worth another listen. Track 09: I like the start of this song. In fact, I like all of this song. I just know it, I’m gonna have it my head for the rest of the day  But anyway, the beat is really catchy, the little xylophone things in the background are cute. It’s like The Pierces! Love it. Track 10: Starts with a strong beat. The laughter, I admit, is pretty creepy. Not sure if I like the ending of this song. It would have been better if they actually finished the end, rather than just fading it out. The rest of it’s ok, but not really my cup of tea  Track 11: Hmmm… not sure if I know who this is. That voice… so familiar… Lovers In Japan (Osaka Sun Mix), our lovely Coldplay. :wacky: I love this song. Track 12: Randy Newman. Gotta be. I must say I’ve never heard the song though. I love his music. Was it off a soundtrack? That’s usually where hear it. I always see him as having innocent music. Probably because the first time I heard him was in Toy Story! It’s a very nice song. Not sure how well it fits in with Lovers, but maybe I should just listen to it again… Gosh this is a long mixtape! Track 13: Liberian Girl, Michael Jackson. This song reminds me of a forest. I really love it, absolute classic. It’s so mysterious, I think it has to be one of my favourite MJ songs. Beautiful. Love live the King. Track 14: Haunting piano! Ooooo, creeeeeepy! And the voice that joins it is incredible. So mysterious and wonderfully wonderful. I don’t know what else to say! It’s just beautiful. Ok, so far I’m quite impressed with this mix. But this one has to be my favourite (apart from track 11! :awesome:). The end is really soaring, sort of Apparatjik –y. The silence at the end adds to the song. I love it. SILENCE IS MAGIC Track 15: NOORRWAAAAAAAAY!! I love this song. And I wish I could go to Norway, despite what @The Final Track says  I love that it’s really odd how it goes up and down in key every now and then. But this is a very, very catchy song, and I will definitely look further into the artist. They sort of sound like the Fleet Foxes. I loved it. Definitely a highlight for me so far! Track 16: Now this sounds like The Pierces. At least it did at the start. So many of these tracks are male singers. Not that it’s a bad thing, most of my music in male dominated. This song makes me want to go out and ride a horse somewhere. So we’ve had a song about Norway and a song about Paraguay. Do I see a pattern emerging…? Track 17: Ha! I knew it! From Russia With Love! Great movie, great movie… Great soundtrack, great everything. I knew there was a theme going on here. Now we’ve had Norway, Paraguay, Russia. What’s next? Oh, I love the ending of it. So up lifting. Love it! Track 18: SPAIN! Spain. I haven’t heard this one before, but it’s lovely and quiet. I think it would go very well in a soundtrack (is it in a soundtrack already?). The lyrics are quite depressing really. “So it’s to the gallows at the long lost kingdom of life”. Oh yes… makes me feel all melancholy. This will be very good for inspirational writing. Can’t wait to look further into this artist. Track 19: Well that quite a jump. From lovely peaceful to almost ACDC style. Actually, this song is pretty good. Strong bass lines, crazy guitar riffs. Yeah, it’s alright. I don’t like it as much as some of the other songs, but it fits in quite well in the mixtape. Track 20: I think this is a good song to turn up really loud and dance around in your underpants to. Not that I did. No really, I didn’t :shifty: Ahem, anyways… It’s really catchy, it’s quite 90’s. I like it. I mean, I don’t love it, but it’s alright. It’s catchiness is too catchy. Now THIS is what I will have in my head for the rest of the day.   That’s what I’m doing right now. But not in my underpants. The lyrics are pretty funny. I don’t know if they’re supposed to be funny, but I find them funny. Track 21: Yay! We made it! And what a starter to a song!! Woo!! That guitar is probably some of the best air guitar music I’ve ever heard. Fantastic! I think you chose the final song very well. It has quite a different genre to everything else, and even though it was quite long it was good to finish it off with a beat –y track like this. I actually went back and listened to the start of the song a couple of times, it’s just fantastic! Highlights: 2, 14, 18. I like the bits you threw in about the different countries  That was funny. Overall, I really liked the mixtape. It had a big mixture of different genres, but all the songs worked really well together. And I liked the little bit of Coldplay in the middle there  The only criticism I have is that is was perhaps a little bit too long. I think maybe next time try to make it shorter – maybe even somewhere between 50 and 70 minutes. That said, I still really enjoyed it. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into making it for me. It’s clear you put in a lot of thought into it. And I do sincerely apologize for it being so dreadfully late! :whip: Shame on me. Thanks again!
  13. An Easter Tale just made my easter. Not even kidding :awesome:
  14. The good news is that Fight For Every Dream just passed 12,000 words. And only a quarter through ladies! Taameen, I really liked your story! I love how people always make Guy out to be completely useless in his advice.
  15. To my mixtape maker, I stand accused of not submitting my review yet :embarrassed: I am sincerely sorry, and I will post it tomorrow. But it is very lovely, and I've listened to it a couple of times now! :P
  16. I love you Brooke :wacky: And I love your Buckin stories. But you already knew that. Whose boxers did he replaced with a thong....? My money's on Guy
  17. Yay for a good review! My last mixtape got a really lame review... so this is great! Let's get started shall we? Fleet Foxes! Correct! White Winter Hymnal, off Fleet Foxes. My personal fav! You must have, as this is indeed Apparatjik. One Less Thing To Worry About, We Are Here Extended Edition. I think it might be Mags singing, actually... BEST SONG OFF THE ALBUM. More people should know about it! I was waiting for it the day it came out too. Excellent song, excellent album. The Dance, Charlotte Martin, Stromata. One of the more interesting songs. If you listen to more of her, I recommend the song Cars on Crescent. It's instrumental, and well worth the listen. This is The Audreys. They're an Australian group, but their stuff is really strong and beat-y. The song is called Songbird, if you didn't guess. It's off the album When The Flood Comes. Listen to the rest of it, it's exquisite. I write lots of fanfictions, so songs like this are very inspirational while I'm writing! Another Australian group, called The Cat Empire (very ska!), song called The Chariot. This is off their first album that came out in 2001. The lead singer has a very Latin voice, so I know where you're coming from. I'm going to see them live in a few weeks. I'm really pumped! I have a fair idea where you got it from. [ame= ] [/ame] In this interview Guy says it is his favourite song (at that moment). I agree! They are very understated in the rest of the world. In Australia they're pretty big though... Blind Willie McTell by Bob Dylan. Surprised? Probably not. His voice is very distinctive. This is my favourite song by him. Incredible. Brian Eno, Flint March, off Small Craft On A Milk Sea, featuring Jon Hopkins. Need I say any more? I'm glad you like this song! It's Ry Cumming, Harder To Say. He's not very well known, so there you go. It is Travis! Pipe Dreams, off The Invisible Band. They sound so much like Coldplay, especially in this song. Love it! U2, Moment Of Surrender, off No Line On The Horizon. Personally, I think it's their best song. At first I was like just get going already! But I listened to it a few times and now it's my favourite song by them. Give it another go, listen to it right the way through again. But I guess it's not everybody's cup of tea. Sky Blue And Black, by Jackson Browne. I love the piano in it. It's just amazing. I couldn't not use it as the final track on the mixtape. I'm very glad you enjoyed it! I guess there always has to be a few songs you don't like. I liked that you still pointed out the parts you liked of the ones you weren't so pleased with. It's stupid to totally dismiss a song just because you don't like something about it. But anyways... thanks for taking the time to review the songs I chose so well. It's greatly appreciated! :wacky: Here's the link for the mixtape... http://rapidshare.com/files/457210862/Mixtape.zip ...and here's the tracklisting... http://rapidshare.com/files/457211182/Mixtape_2011.docx
  18. Thanks ladies! And don't stress, there will be more Buckin. Even if they don't want it, there will always be more Buckin :jbcm:
  19. Hugs for Brooke for being a mature young lady and taking those insults LIKE A MAN!
  20. WOAH. What have I missed?! @Chris_Martin_is_a_fag, you wouldn't be saying all these comments simply to get a rise out of us now would you? Hmm... seems a very low form of insult. Y'know, doing it just to cause a stir. If you plan on paying out the stories written here DON'T YOU DARE pay out Brooke, aka coldplayisawesome. She is, without a doubt in my mind, THE DAMN FINEST FANFIC WRITER. DO NOT insult her. Constructive critisim? Yes. Immature abuse? No. You sir, are the screw up. So if you get pleasure out of pissing everyone off, then you're not gonna get very far. And at least have the decency to use correct grammar. There! That's better *dusts off hands* Anyway, so I have some reviewing to do that doesn't involve being a bitch. I love Our Little Secret. It kicks butt  And now I'm 18, so i can legally read all those Buckin -y bits! In Our Eyes: an interesting start! Can't wait to see who this mysterious man is... :awesome: Sorry I've been away for a while! I'm back now, so TIME TO PARTY!!!
  21. I'm FREAKING OUT big time :freak: A long way from where I am, but hell. I'll go anyway!
