Hmmm, interesting. I don't remember seeing that earlier. Maybe they edited the text after I sent them an e-mail requesting them to "please verify", shortly after they posted Chris' jacket. Or, I could have just completely missed it. Either way, that definitely clears things up! Thanks for the fyi. :thumbsup:

Idea: Someone should take the goofiest faces of each of the guys from the auction pictures and do something with them on JibJab. That would be hilarious.

CHRIS VERSUS WILL JACKET OPINION UPDATE I made a few posts earlier in regard to the auction for Chris' jacket showing a picture of Will, and vice versa. Originally, I theorized that they just mixed up the pictures. All of them wore multiple jackets throughout the tour, so trying to figure it out wasn't easy. But, I watched the Violet Hill video again, and I'm pretty sure that the one that is described as Will's jacket, with Chris holding it, is indeed Will's (at least from the Violet Hill video). So, I think I take back what I said earlier. Don't you just love how they enjoy driving us batty? Argh.

Yeah... and £180 to ship a drum. I suppose they want to make sure it gets to it's destination secure and in one piece.

I stared at it a little more, and I see what you mean now. I also see some other differences, like in the group picture, the the bottom of the LL is longer and closer to the edge and curves with it, while in the individual picture the LL is different. Whether it is a re-paint, or if they have another spare and took pictures of each, hard to tell. You could always send a message to the seller on ebay, it couldn't hurt.

It's hard to tell. My guess is that it is same. If you look at the other Gibson Blue Kings for auction (primary, spare 2, and spare 3), the same thing is going on. I think it's an issue with the lighting. In the individual pictures, the colors look very muted. In the group picture, the colors are more vivid.

Even if someone already did, it would probably be worthwhile to ask. If enough people ask, the Oracle might answer just in an effort to get people to stop asking.

Yip. After seeing the other two missing, I just gave up. It will be interesting to see if they throw something in the mix at the last minute with these lot numbers.

Each of them had multiple jackets. The one that is labeled as Chris' is actually Will's (hence Will in the picture). The one that should be for sale for Chris is the light blue one he wore at the Grammy's, I think, from the catalog picture. The one that Jonny is holding probably is his, but he might not have worn it as much.

Apparently not, but that would have been nice. Another Viva-era item I would have liked to see was the puppets... oh well.

Yeah... you can tell it is (probably) a fan, which is nice. I'm lurking on the globe, just have to see where it's at next Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed...

My guess is more like $100k by the time next Monday (1 minute before the auction ends) rolls around. That is what me and a co-worker (fellow fan) think it will end up at. You could always try for the lottery (if you live in a State with the MegaMillions, I think it's up to $160 million so you could buy a ticket for Tuesday's drawing). Of course, after taxes and present value discount if you take the lump sum, it's more like $70 million. Bummer.

I'm not bidding on those items, but I am bidding on other things. Well, actually more like 'lurking' until the final day. :tongue:

No, that is indeed Will's jacket (as seen in tour pictures and in the catalog). I e-mailed the seller and told them to clarify whether the bidding should be for Chris' jacket or Will's jacket, so people know what they are really bidding on!

So far the boys have helped raise about 60,000 British pounds for charity; and they have yet to release the VLV era items, and another whole week to go. Excellent!
