OK, figured I'd do an update on this since it's been a couple of years. 22-24 I've moved between psychedelic and ambient mainly over the last two years. I have not been confined to these genres however. Tame Impala have been my favourite band over the last couple of years. I've also seen a return to rap/hip hop/rnb and I've revisited many of my favourite bands from the past. What's everybody else been up to?

Indeed. Culture is not an excuse for anybody. Everybody has the ability to think about a concept themselves and make up their own mind. Culture can explain why people behave they do though, rather than condone it. I am aware of why certain people are racist, but that does not mean that I agree with them, nor that I have any positive feelings towards them in the slightest. I do not excuse them for their beliefs, either. I can simply understand where their opinions may be coming from. Hi!

Newcastle v Sunderland has been good so far. My only prediction was Tiote to get sent off. It's looking less likely as he hasn't been his usual thuggish self. Plus Webb is reffing and he rarely gives decisions that actually matter. He'd have loved the BBC's decision on Ding Dong.

No stream for the game, so it appears I won't be watching it after all.

It's a weird culture where people don't seem to be happy unless something is recorded. They need that validation for some reason. Go to the gig, watch it, remember it. It really isn't hard. And it's not as simple as saying it's other people's problem as it appears to be many performers' problem too.

Women are already told by society that they are pieces of meat so I wouldn't imagine that their best role models would be repeating this. If me holding that opinion makes me a dick then that's fine, but my effects are less toxic than hers.

I can't imagine enforced piercings and tribal life is any form of utopia. It may be less destructive than all the damage we are causing but it's far from 'bringing out the best in everybody'.

Most definitely. Fortunately I don't go to those places often anymore. 25, so getting a bit old for that kind of stuff (on a regular basis). Used to go weekly in my teens/early 20's and the times I've been sober have been awful.

Indeed. There's stuff that is good about it but the consumption is remarkable. In my country too.
