  1. Plenty of scum bags around these parts :(
  2. Hmm, my mate got beaten up last night. Broken jaw, a face like John Merrick and his phone stolen. Four men knocked him out for getting a taxi before them even though he was in the queue before them. Lame.
  3. I recommend 'For 12' next. I recommend the whole thing haha. Well good luck in your present finding! I'm off for a while now but may be nipping back in short bursts for the next few hours, then off out for the evening.
  4. According to Stephen Nissenbaum, Historian of Christmas:
  5. Get him Tamer Animals by Other Lives if he already has it. Similar but a little more folky (though not acoustic).

How do you view it? What does it mean to you? Do you see it as a religious festival? Obviously it is a religious festival, but to take part in the festivities you do not have to celebrate from a religious standing. Do you feel it is moving away from its religious roots? Do you think Christmas has changed in recent times compared to when you were younger, both in your own interpretation of the festivals origins, the way in which you celebrate it and the way those around acknowledge and celebrate it? If so do you think this is due to your age or a change in perceptions of the holiday time, be it one of cynicism, greater family or friendly spirit in bleaker times or a general shift in public opinion? Also a place to share your Christmas hopes for this year and memories of Christmas' gone by.
  7. Ah, fair point. Too late for online shopping too I presume.
  8. Hmm, I don't think there's a band that I respect whom I also can't stand. The two are so far apart on the spectrum.
  9. That I can still find this cute. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-16295287
  10. You're best shopping around. Quite a few places in this country have it on sale to ensure they shift a lot of them.
  11. All sounds good. I recommend Groupon to people who wanna get something last minute. You can get vouchers for all sorts of things like fancy meals, spa days, language courses, even holidays. Go to the website and check it. They are all like 40-70% off. I've used it quite often.
  12. You're welcome :) I got presents for my close family today. iPhone Ap voucher for my sister and her husband, scented things from the Body Shop for my Mum and a book voucher for my Dad. All uninspired but everyone agreed not to spend much.
  13. I'll point out I'm not advocating other substances, more trying to determine how they affect you if you do use them and why it is that you do drink.
  14. Have you tried any other vices? Why did/do you choose alcohol?
  15. I didn't really. I made the manly thread
  16. I do need to sleep very soon though, so if you don't want one I won't be offended but let me know soon : p
  17. But the playlist could help you find which bands to start with. Hear a song you like then go explore.
  18. So those are bands you are interested in getting in to? I can make a playlist of some songs by those artists if you want. Spotify playlist or YouTube playlist?
  19. Apart because of school related stuff? Happened when I went to uni. Happened when I came home from uni and my mate were still at their uni. Kinda lame but I guess it's life. It'd be a little tragic if every single one of us stayed where we were considering our potential, especially two of my friends. In fact one moves to Salford on Thursday. Will be weird without him.
  20. Hi :) And thank you. Taken down any super bad guys yet?
  21. If you list some of your favourite bands and genres you have an interest in I'll make you a playlist. Won't take me do. Making playlists for people is what I do.
  22. And get reading some of the Classic fictions. Anything published by Penguin.
  23. I would also recommend YouTube clips of some of the great philosophical thinkers too. And listening to anything I say of course.
  24. Indeed. Throw in some early Leonard Cohen, some Flaming Lips, Aphex Twin and Boards Of Canada for the physics and you'll be fine.
