That referendum question is so misleading. You can believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman but also back gay marriage. Just not indulge in it yourself and want to live in a secular society which allows others to make their own decision on the matter. It should have straight up asked 'do you want to ban gay marriage?' But anyway, everyone knows what they were voting on and the impact it would have so arguing on semantics seems feeble given how strong the victory was for the ****s.

Most artists I've ever written essays by have suggested that whilst you need things that can't be taught, you also need other things that can be, unless you're some kind of crazy prodigy. Art school isn't good for everyone of course, but even if you learn what not to do, it can be useful for artists, from what I gather. I agree with your sentiments that it is a risk in this climate though.
