  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23721893 Thoughts?
  2. A friend of mine saw him in a pub, sat on his own making calls on his phone about all the cool festivals he played that Summer, just loud enough for EVERYONE to hear. I love his first album, then a few singles, but generally, he never recaptured it. I loved the weirdness of the first album and all the little bits and pieces in between songs.
  3. Another is actually happening?
  4. You two could be a little more welcoming, rather than simply reacting with astonishment
  5. Badly Drawn Boy's first album
  6. :( PM me if you want.
  7. It has to work both ways. There has to be public backing for it to a decent extent, and the law has to be enforced effectively and fairly. But the law itself can make a big deal. Sometimes laws come in that people would never consider they need.
  8. Laws change society more than you think.
  9. All rights. All rights should be able to be changed as societies change. Every last one of them. Some should be harder than others (like human rights - they would more be evolved to cater for more people or become more specific) to change and you'll find the people will defend them. Like what is happening with guns. But when you evolve past them, it's only fair that you should be able to allow the law to evolve too. We are far from a utopia in any country, and we'll probably never get there. So you need some fluidity and a politically active people to stand up for those rights that society isn't ok with losing and shouldn't lose.
  10. But rights have to change. Otherwise it would be a very different world for black people in America. Where is the cut off point? Where do you say, OK, these rights are perfect? Society moves.
  11. You should post in our lgbt thread if you would like to, to enlighten us on the subject. You don't have to of course.
  12. I'm not. Just questioning. I'll make judgements later. Everybody does.
  13. Is says you are a girl. Are you a girl? Shane is a strange name for a girl.
  14. I look forward to it, though have said all I wanna say really.
  15. I don't think anybody did call it sexist, apart from Nick, and he was only referring to one statement, jokingly. The topic of whether it is possible to be sexist against men if you define sexism as involving historical oppression is an interesting discussion, though. I have yet to clarify my position on the matter so if you guys wanna open it up a bit and put your thoughts in, it might help me.
  16. The chat box is lethal
  17. That's just the way it goes :(
  18. Definitely! I'll get Thalia to ask all the questions...
  19. I thought you'd been looking back. Was surprised to see you'd liked a post, especially when I saw what it was. I think I had a crush on him too, but don't tell him.
  20. Another example of way auto-blocking porn on the internet won't work.
  21. Could be said about us too. Could be cooking up their own Falklands to get the voters onside. Seems like you don't like Spain from your tone towards them in this thread.
