  1. Okay, I gotta run, but everything should be up within the next two hours or so... and if there is a glitch or problem, well, it will be longer than that until I am in front of my laptop... This is my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/jasondebord Jason P.S. I still have all the "SLASHED" Coldplay clips (and others) from the ASH anniversary gig in London last month uploaded to YouTube, but never heard from Jed if it's cool to set those live/public. If anyone can find out, I'm happy to share those as well. ;)
  2. It looks like Part 5 of 5 is going to be uploaded first... LOL I guess since it's the shortest. But seriously, watch them in the proper order! Jason
  3. Honestly, there were some things said in the Q&A (that I didn't video tape) where I was sitting there thinking that the people who made a fuss over Rhianna singing in a song really wouldn't like some of what was said (i.e. how much the album and comic go hand in hand - just a very "un Parachutes" approach to music and such). Jason
  4. Here are some images from the Bongo Comics booth and then one from the panel discussion: Jason
  5. Sorry, my WiFi at hotel (even paid for faster ethernet) is pretty slow... They probably won't be in order, so note the titles of the video - I recommend waiting for them to watch in the right order (there are five total) so it makes sense. All I really left out was the first minute or two and some of the Q&A. They said that they wanted to debut the music video for Hurts Like Heaven at the convention, but it is not done. It is going to be all animated (like a cartoon), and they did show character models based on the characters in the comic book (all of this is in the videos I shot - the last one). The people who did the animation for the Gorillaz stuff (Passion Pictures) are working on this video... Jason
  6. I have been going to Comic Con since 1987 or so... so I am here now. I have a press pass, so they allowed me to videotape as much of the panel discussion as I wanted to, and I taped over 30 minutes of it. I am uploading in segments now. One part I didn't videotape was most of the Q&A (which I regret, as it was intriguing). It was pretty interesting hearing how much the album and concept was developed alongside the album... as an example, Mark Osborne said that he had come up with the name of "Mylo" and texted Chris, and Chris texted back "Xyloto", and there was the album title, just like that. Also, as another example, Major Minus had a different first name earlier (I think he said Phil came up with it), and they changed it to Major. So it was pretty fascinating hearing how much the comic had an impact on things in the latest album, even names of songs. He also said that there is a lot of material (songs) that did not make the album. Anyway, I am only in the hotel to upload anything for a short time (meeting friends for dinner in a bit), but if you keep an eye on my YouTube account, the segments will be popping up (unedited). The first segment will be at this URL once it's finished uploading: Jason
  7. Hey Jed, Loved the event, and the Slashed segment was hilarious... Question... you said it was okay to video... and I video'd the Coldplay bits in full, and some of the other parts... but reading this, I'm getting the impression you wouldn't want this shared? Please let me know, as I uploaded clips to YouTube (took over 24 hours over hotel wi-fi!) and just went to point links from this topic, and now I'm getting the impression you don't want on the net. So they are not public, and will remain that way if you wish - please just let me know either way. Thanks again, Jason P.S. I think you should make a "Making of Slashed" with contemporary "real" footage intercut with the clips... it would be funny/fascinating, and "what might have been" might make for a better film anyway! ;) It would also be cheaper.
  8. Awesome - you will love it! Honestly, I've found that just putting it on full auto (the green setting) is the best way to go. I record photos and videos at the highest resolutions... I put tracking focus on... Video AVCHD format... AF Alluminator - Off Grid Line - Off Clear Image Zoom - On Digital Zoom - On (but never cross that "line" in zooming, as it doesn't look good - but just in case there is some special shot, leave it on) Wind Noise Reduction - On Micref Level - Normal Red Eye Reduction - Off Blink Alert - Off Write Date - Off Expanded Focus - On Disp Resolution - High Beep - Off Panel Brightness - 1 (Dark) I also leave GPS off (I know where I am LOL). Let me know if you have any other questions. :) Jason P.S. Also be sure to put the shutter button down half way on your subject, to focus, before starting to record video. Also, you can do this while filming to reset focus on the same or different subject. P.P. S. Also make sure you but AT LEAST ONE extra battery. Twice I've accidentally turned this thing on in it's case, and arrived at a venue with a spent battery (they made the on/off button to high in the latest version of this camera).
  9. Here is my advice on the best compact (relatively) inexpensive pocket digital camera for shooting photos and videos at concerts: My Article On Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V I'd highly recommend the Sony HX20V - I've shot quite a few shows in the past few weeks with it and it is awesome. Jason
  10. A new article in the Austin American-Statesman: Chips from Austin's Silicon Labs take the rock 'n' roll road My photo is actually used in the article (with permission, via Silicon Labs - they found me from one of my articles LINK)... The Xylobands in the photo are actually on top of my flightcase for Blacky. ;) Jason
  11. It just so happens... I'm going to be in London that day. So I bought VIP tix. :) Jason
  12. So happy for everyone who got to experience this show - sounds like one for the record books! Jason
  13. Thanks for sharing - Speed of Sound is one of my favorites - sounds brilliant. Hope this is in the playlist for whenever they shoot their live DVD/Blu-Ray! Jason
  14. It's contagious! ARTICLE: Coldplay Xyloband (Light Up Wristband) Reanimated By Concert Video, Comes Back To Life... "Is There Anybody Out There?" Jason
  15. Seriously. But if you click on any San Jose show Viva videos, they won't play in the U.S. What does Disney have to do with, as they put it, "Viva La Vida [Radio Edit]"? Jason
  16. Does anyone know why Disney blocks newly uploaded Viva la Vida videos on YouTube from playing in the U.S. all of the sudden? Jason
  17. Tom, try now. I deleted the previous upload, and broke out DLIBYH and Viva into two files, and just uploaded DLIBYH and it doesn't seem to have any issues playing in the U.S. now... Jason
  18. I actually didn't take the set list for this show. I asked a gentleman at the sound/mixing area in the back if I could borrow one to take a photo of it for the article I was writing about the show... if he said, "here you can have it", I would have taken it (:P), but he didn't so I took a photo and handed it back to him. Coldplay is seriously one of the hardest bands to get set lists off the stage, especially the show last night - I didn't even try. There is so much space between the staging and the barricades that I feel too bad to make enough of a spectacle of myself to ask. Much easier in the smaller shows (I got one at the Club Nokia gig - Guy's set let). Jason
  19. Okay, I just finished my review - if you click the image below, it will take you to my article with all the photos and videos: Here are some samples of the photos I took: Thanks! Jason
  20. This is my last video - "Don't Let It Break Your Heart" and "Viva La Vida"... http://youtu.be/_OK0WhLaAmY For some reason, it has embedding blocked and it says it can't be played in all countries (?). Jason
  21. LOL No, it's less work for me! :D Only one left now... (Don't Let It Break Your Heart) Jason
