Awesome show!!! :) I'm trying to get some pics and video up on my site... but hotel wifi is dragging... video won't be up until morning... funny thing - there's like 20,000 people in the arena, 1 out of 5 shooting video, and they single me out and tell me to stop... :lol: So all I got on video was combo of the 'Hurts Like Heaven' and 'Yellow' opening, and the closing with ETIAW (I figured at the end, worst case, they'd throw me out on the last song LOL). Took tons of pics - was with Oz and we were pretty close to the stage. I'll be seated at Bercy so hope to get 'What If' and 'Don't Panic' on video there... Jason P.S. The light up wristbands are totally different from the Madrid ones...

Thanks, Mish! (and awesome Coldplayers!) Yeah, it was a lot of traveling... pretty much 24 hours full traveling (driving, airports, flying, layovers) each time, each direction for me. Totally worth it though. :cool: As part of the VIP Golden Ticket thing, they had this little area with food and drinks and such, and also Coldplayesque photo ops... :lol: I actually got that a few times... he's much better looking. Plus I don't have the cool British accent. And I don't know how to play guitar. I think it was just because I was wearing at hat at the show, really. ;) Jason

:laugh3: Yeah, Oz and I were wandering around the stadium for many hours - I probably have photos of everyone on one picture or another. ;) Just couldn't get enough of the venue and was a little concerned that the box office would never open so I could get my tix! ;) Jason

Hey everyone! So I'm sitting in my hotel room, which has a balcony... it's 3:30 am (I think I'm still on California time). I hear singing outside, so I go out on the balcony and people are singing the Viva chat! :shocked2: At 3:30 am. :D Love this city. For all who had an overall negative opinion of the show, my sense from being "on the ground" here is that the vast majority of the actual live audience loved it to death. It was an awesome, awesome concert and will be a very positive and permanent experience in my life. Was such a great show - forgot to mention in my late, late night mini review that it was one of those shows that gave me shivers (even though they didn't play it LOL) and bits of adrenaline rush throughout. Such an awesome show. :) Jason

Okay, this is going to be a short review, as it's now 3:30 am as I start writing this... I came all the way from California for this show, and had high expectations, and came away just absolutely thrilled - thought it was a fantastic show (muy bueno!). Coolest venue ever. Now, the "Hidden Gigs" from last December were incredible because of their small and intimate nature - this show was spectacular by the gravitas of the venue. Just awesome. I only found one other Coldplaying member (photo of her and her friend at the bottom - I'll let her identify herself if she'd like!), as I had almost no Internet connectivity, but really enjoyed chatting with her before and after the show. The sound I think was the best I'd heard at a Coldplay show - not sure if they had different rented (local) gear in addition to their own or it was the acoustics of the venue or what, but it was awesome. Loved the show itself. I am a huge Anton Corbijn fan, so not having seen the broadcast product yet, I can't comment on that aspect. There was a really cool "flying" video cam up top on wires that could basically capture anything in the arena (posted a pic below). Would have liked more of his influence in the visuals (a la the Depeche Mode 'Devotional' film and tour), but I know they didn't have as much lead up time for this show. I thought the set list was great. Of course, Coldplay always leave you wanting more... but that's a tribute to how many great songs they have. I wished, from the new album, they'd done "Up With the Birds" and "Princess of China". But you can't have everything. Anyway, I'm sure everyone here watched it themsevles, so I'll just post some still pics I took below... Oh, and the "Premium Golden Ticket" was actually more more than I was expecting, compared with the VIP tickets I got for the UCLA/MusicCares gig... they had a cool room set up with free drinks and finger foods, and they let you take funny pics that you are supposed to be able to download with a code on the laminate/lanyard (haven't looked for them yet). The light up bracelets were really cool in the show... I got a few of those but gave the extras to some other fans in other sections that didn't have them, and just kept one for myself. Also got one of the beach balls. And one other really, really, really cool thing was gifted to me. :cool: Oh, and it did rain - I thought it was a cool, environmentally-friendly effect. :lol: Enjoy (all in high res if you want a specific one e-mail me)

Thanks for posting all the cool pics and info. After 24 hours of solid travel, I arrived from California tonight, and met up with Oz. We got lost wandering the streets of Madrid until a few minutes ago. Really looking forward to the show tomorrow night! Jason

How late are the subways running till at night? Is it easy to catch cabs at night? Jason

I've been checking the forecast... seems like it changes every five minutes! I guess we won't really know until the night of... So does anyone have any suggestions for a meet up place after the concert? Jason

I bought those tix for me and my friends - looks like they are mostly charging you for food and drink: I know if gets you into the venue early as well. Other than that, I don't know that there is anything special to them... Jason
