Yep. By a long way. Although that's not difficult in my opinion. But let's not go off topic...

Oasis are just above Oceansize on my iPod. :awesome: They're both from Manchester as well. But Oceansize > Oasis by a long way.

Didn't see a thread for these guys but I've seen them dotted around in posts occasionally. If you're into Coldplay/Radiohead/Muse but are prepared to listen to something a little more progressive/experimental, then this band are for you. Dunno how to embed YT vids on here. EDIT: It does it itself! Magic :) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTsnXZNFIjk]YouTube- Oceansize - Catalyst[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFkyrRqzkIQ]YouTube- Oceansize - Unfamiliar[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWn8BaAgLXk]YouTube- Oceansize - The Charm Offensive (Live Feed To Feed Boxset)[/ame]
  4. Funny you should say that, they are pretty much the two tracks that I did like off the new record (well, the Golden Floor more so).

YES. Time for Coldplay to turn prog plz. :laugh3: Although are you sure it's 7/4 that a part of Yes is in, and not just a switch to 6/4?
  6. Ah, Snow Patrol. Not listened to them in ages. They need to pursue what they're good at methinks - make an album of tracks in the vein of Somewhere a Clock Is Ticking, an atmospheric, out there post-rock album. They're actually pretty good at that sorta stuff.
  7. Genius! Except, I'm not sure I can do it... Just realised I only have VLV on iTunes. How annoying. I might have to download it again elsewhere.
  8. Is there a way of seperating them? :shocked2:
  9. :\ Listeners should be able to listen to the album how they want - I don't like Chinese Sleep Chant but love Yes and so always skip CSC now. It's important to see albums as cohesive pieces of work but if you find a track unbearable/dislike it you shouldn't have to sit through it if you don't want to.
  10. Am I the only one who found the two tracks in one thing pointless? Just having two seperate tracks would have been fine.
  11. Of those? Clocks. But there is no Shiver... or Yes. :(
  12. I've always considered Coldplay pop rock. They write pop songs in the standard structure of verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge etc for the most part and most of them are in 4/4. Not always obviously, Viva la Vida as an album has numerous examples. That's not a slight on the band because Coldplay are good at it.

  14. There's been a definite drop in quality since OOS/Absolution with Muse. Black Holes was particularly disappointing due to how poor some of the tracks came out. Assassin was made out as a big beasting riffy epic when the track was first played live, it turned out a bit limp and about 2 mins too short. Exo-Politics just sounded plain awful. In my opinion, The Resistance is a step back in the right direction (particularly Exogenesis) but they really need to get the ballads out of their system. Maybe now Bellzorz has broke up with his girlfriend he'll quit with the love songs, which Muse just can't do. Moar songs bout conspiraciez plz.
  15. Do your own at http://www.rateyourmusic.com :awesome:
  16. He looked better with red hair. :awesome:
  17. Always has been and probably always will be Citizen Erased. It's their masterpiece, their finest hour, their peak bladebladebla. Perhaps that's a boring choice because they always win these polls on the Museboards but meh.
  18. The album version is far superior in my opinion. I dislike the lyrics and don't think the song really works with vocals at all.
  19. Thankyou ^.^
  20. They're fantastic musicians but I only listen to them for the "riffage" as it were. The vocalist is awful and the lyrics even worst. A lot of it just seems very artificial and overdone to me. Porcupine Tree are a much better band in a similar style.
  21. Cliff Richard, hard working, seriously? Steven Wilson should be on there methinks.
  22. Although I disagree with the sentiment, would that not be pretty ironic for a Coldplay fan to say anyway? :\ Snow Patrol definitely play a similar style of music to Coldplay.
  23. Too right. I don't listen to Snow Patrol much anymore but Somewhere a Clock is Ticking holds a place in my heart I spose you could say.
