I had a dream whereby I was screaming and telling myself to wake up but I couldn't wake up. Someone was trying to kill me and I was half-conscious and half asleep and my screams were just coming out as mumbling. Not as messed up as my girlfriend though. I had a full scale conversation with her when she was asleep and thought she was awake because she was sitting up with her eyes open. And once she started screaming in her sleep because someone was killing me in her dream hahaha.

Just because someone doesn't like the lyrics does not mean they don't like the song. The thread title is called 'Chris Martin's Worst Lyrics', this is a forum for discussion, people can still love the music but be critical of certain things. You feel bad because people don't just blindly love everything that Coldplay do? If anything I feel bad for you, do you lack any ability to think critically? Paying attention to the lyrics is just like paying attention to a guitar part you like or loathe, a drum fill that really compliments the song or a bassline that's repetitive or drives a song. The exact same thing applies to lyrics. There are lyrics you can find amazing or lyrics you can find awful. It's lazy to just accept any and all lyrics without any thought.

Man you've got to realise that if I had a band who had a great selling first album and was making a second, i'd be focusing on improving the standard of my work. You might think Politik is their best song, but that doesn't mean it's not lyrically weak. Which it is. Even if I was just sitting at home recording stuff on my 8-track, I would actually cringe at myself if I made up lyrics like that.

I usually just record my own stuff on an 8-track, it's nothing great or anything. I usually do my own stuff but one day I got bored and made an instrumental cover of 'Golden Skans'. If would like to give it a listen I can send it to you.

Look at the earth from outer space / Everyone must find a place / Give me time and give me space / Give me real don't give me fake Space, Place, Space (again) Fake. Using something like that as the lyrics to a song by a band as big as they are is just lazy. The lines just have no effort put into them...and if it took effort to write those lines then I have highly over-estimated Mr Martin.

My oh my, such a big post that says absolutley nothing at all. I haven't dismissed anything for the sake of it. I've highlighted the need to be subjective, to look at all the angles of a given story. It's called independant thought. Give it a try. Really, can you not see that most everyone else thinks you're clueless? :D

I don't see anything special about Vampire Weekend, in fact I think their music is atrocious. I'm not a fan of the Arctic Monkeys but their songwriting is infinitely better than lines such as 'Me and my cousins, You and your cousins, I can feel it coming'...just horrible.

I checked this band out to see what all the fuss was about (Radio One just seem to hype them up and talk about them endlessly) and found myself a little disappointed. It's nothing special, I mean the songs are solid but I can't see why there is so much hype about them. It's nothing particularly new or original and i'm sure they're all nice guys but I found it a little uninspiring and flat.

I love playing Eskimo on the guitar, in fact i'm playing it right now (in between typing). The capo is high up the fret-board which is odd but makes it more interesting to play. :D Her stuff is different from Damien's, more upbeat and quirky. The album takes a few listens but I think it's great she's doing her own thing.

Overrated? Not with the right person. Yes, it's stupid and dumb, I don't need a day to tell/show someone I care/love them. I just like to throw wads of money at card shops in February, it's just a coincidence. It reminds you of how unpretty you are!? Are you that insecure that you let a totally stupid day dictate how you feel about yourself? Just because someone doesn't buy you a £4 card and a stupid fluffy teddy-bear that lights up it makes you unpretty. Wise up! That's no way to measure yourself.

The website includes articles that are included in the paper. Are you really THAT stupid? Telling me that I dismiss everything misses the point completely, of course I shouldn't be surprised that. There is a difference between dismissing the article and highlighting the subjectivity of the article. Asking you to think beyond the article itself seems to be lost on you. :dozey: Haha it actually made me laugh when you said it was only calling me 'clueless' and that it was fair under the circumstances.
