  5. Relax. Think of it as a pleasure and that you're doing what you love. As said before sing close to the mic and sit if you'll be playing there too. Play sideways. I mean as Chris does when he's performing. If you would have to stare directly and constantly at the audience it would probably kill you. But still have the eye contact. Well, just do what your feel, express yourself. Be focused and so on but don't be afraid to smile sometimes. I don't know what else I should recomend you. I'm a backing vocal so I never sang alone in front of the audience.
  6. Of course it's as good as The Scientist. And I had a similiar situation to the friend above. When I was at their concert, well The Scientist gave me a lot of shivers. I was really happy to hear it live and so on. But when they started Us Against The World - the song for which I waited so much - I just cried the whole song and almost missed it. And when I saw Will I couldn't really control my emotions anymore o.O That was fabulous.
  7. They didn't at least I think so. I know a guy who is a technician and he was preparing things during the Heineken Open'er Festival 2011. So he picked some picks after the headliners that had performed and they were all dunlops. He for sure picked the Coldplay ones so yes, I think that they are still using dunlops too.
  8. I think he meant the lyrics Billy : D It's: Cause in the end There's only love Oh my friend There's only love When Chris sings it he goes further and sings something more but I can't really figure out what it is. But Gwyneth knows -.- Those lines are changed every time I think cause he sang the whole different thing during live 2003. But after this he comes back to: "In the eeeend There's only love" And that where it ends
  9. It's an awesome thing, lol. Name: William And surname: Erasmus Sounds like an amazing human. I'd love to be named like that, you can be proud!
  10. Raise it up raise it up! Unbelievable, he is. I'm melting.
  11. Much better than the first take Hmm I'll start with the instruments. Guitars are very good. Really. I love the bass. But still drums are probably correct but they still sound a little cheap to me. And there's the singing. Your voice is good as I said but I will point out now what I didn't like/ like about the vocal line/accent: - As Billy mentioned - Sometimes you seem to slow down the vocal line a little - Try to pronounce more softly - Still like the "woooh" part Words/pronouncations that I would change: - Rather than [ai] pronounce [a] (the begining) - Pronounce "car" [ka®] - Pronounce "saw" [sכ] not "so" - "I saw the lights go down ... standing in front of me" what did you sing here? Cause I was unable to judge if it was "and" or something different - Second verse was better - Instead of [mai] sing here [ma] - "Scare" is pronounced [skeә®] but "scarecrow is pronounced [`skeәkrәu] so get rid of the 'r' - I would also recommend you to pronounce "bright" like a word bra - Your "red" sounds to me like "ret" - Didn't like that you extended the wrong letter of "fire" but the vocal line was good and loud - Light a fire and then what? I know the lyrics are not certain but it sounded weird to me - Your "glowing" sound like "glow in" - Don't pronounce "in" so substantially - Be more firm pronouncing "spinning" - All the boys etc. part beside those things I mentioned was very good - The worst thing in my opinion was how you sang "innocent riot", sorry but it sounded very cheap. Innocent = [`inәsnt] Riot = [`raiәt] Well I know that's much and people will again start saying that I'm rude but that's just my opinion/advice. Follow it or not.
  12. TyM218 as it seems it depends on taste so I can have a different opinion. I agreed at some points with princesanji cause some of them were really plain. I'm convinced that those comments were positive: I think that Ols54 explained anything and left no doubts so all I questioned was his accent. Did you still think that I came here to be rude after reading my further comments? We did. Princesanji posted his cover (but it was more like guitar cover) and I posted my tutorials all over the place. But still even if I didn't why should I not judge. Noting out what's wrong or telling what should one improve is quite useful knowledge to that person.
  13. Hahaha great !
  14. Eh, you're a good band but still your accent is quite bad. Although Don't Panic cover wasn't perfect (lack of percussion and piano, wrong guitar and good bass though) I see that the level of your instrumental music is quite high. So it's a shame that vocals don't match that level. That's what your band should aim at as soon as possible. And I wish you of course good luck with all that.
  15. Thanks very much! Are you William Erasmus? : D
  16. Okay no problem, I know that being on drums if you work in musical section is quite hard. Of course you can you just have to practice and talk in English more often.
  17. Ah I see now. Will you share with us when you'll find it?
  18. 1 - Too slow - yes 2 - Yes 3 - Voice. Well, yes your accent is quite bad you have to work on it. While I found smithereens not that bad, the other words were quite hmm...shallow. 4 - Yes. And well you wanted to sing it the way Chris did, but you altered the length of words and that wasn't good. What I liked was definitely "oooh" 5 - Drums. I'm not saying anything because I'm critic to everyone who isn't Will Champion xD 6 - Instruments sound like crap. Of course you're able to do it and you've got what it takes, but you went into whole other direction than you should. Work on it again
  19. Or maybe from the game series. My technology knowledge has stopped at the certain moment. So you converted mp3 into flac?
  20. Yeah, will. But those plans are quite distant for now : P
  21. Hah. If that was a question then you answered it yourself with those next sentences you wrote :D
  22. Yeah that's a good way to develop yourself. But I understand him a little cause The Hardest Part is a little more difficult than other Coldplay songs. I could make tutorial of my version but still, Blakexy was first so I'll be focusing on doing the Christmas Lights now.
  23. Well but I hope you'll make a cover of that or something :sneaky: :D
