Exactly. I mean, don't go throwin' yourself everywhere, but if you like a girl just be nice to her and be direct. That's all there is to it. The negatives of being rejected are FAR outwieghed by the positives of being accepted. Me? I like meeting new people. I assume the opposite sex does also. And you would be surprised how many people are open to jus talking and seeing where something goes, even if they don't know you at all. stoopid is as stoopid does ... ... yeah, im not a big phone fan anyways, but it has it's place. in getting to know somebody i think its necessary if you can't do a face-to-face. maybe you don't need to if you see her in school everyday, but phones cut through all the peer-group bullshit that can, at times, exhort unnecessary influences. once people get to know each other well enough, then they can go back to IM.

dont you talk to her on aol? ... or something Talking online is cool and all, but when you're online you could be maintaining conversations with 10 different people at once. When you're on the phone you have her undivided attention. Plus, going from IM'ing to phone conversations is a step up in the relationship: a way to know if she likes you, a way to show you like her, and a way to get to know her better.

let's see ... you're 15 ... are your school's football games a big thing? they were at my school (central california). just something like "are you going to the football game friday?" if she says yes "that's cool, because i was hoping we could hang out together during the game and maybe do something afterwards." and if she says no, then she doesn't like you or she's too shy to bother with. if she says yes then you're gold. and seriously ... it's not easy, but confidence is a big thing. if you just keep in mind that your life isn't going to change whether she says yes or no then youll be fine. it's only going out once. who knows? you might start hanging out with her more and then not even like her. another idea: just say something to her like "i really don't get a chance to talk to you enough around school, so i was hoping i could get your phone number and call you sometime." just be natural.

one of the problems is that,at 15, guys and girls think they're so different ... that they're different enough to have totally different trains of thought about similar situations. this si why you get people wondeirg what the other person is thining, whether they like a person, blah blah blah ... ... people aren't that different, even at that age. odds are that if a girl didn't like you, you would know really quick. odds are also that if she likes you you're going to talk your way out of it because you're unsure of yourself around girls. just be a little more forward. it will be a learnign experience for both of you and, bottom line, it will speed things up and you won't waste as much of your life on issues like these.
